These old interviews reveal what elegance has escaped us here in the 21st century. 😔

Even nature documentaries or any documentaries back in the day, many of them are better.

We let the wave of anti-intellectualism infect everyone so that no one can form a coherent thought about their internal world.

Back in the day was just plain better.

Elegantly said, elegance being defined in this particular context as showing maximum beauty with minimum effort.

We lost a an amazing talent when Gene left this earth. Everything about him was awesome. He was humble, super smart, witty, an incredibly deep thinker and no doubt an amazing person to know in real life. He will always be one of my favorite actors and I love watching his movies over and over. Vale Gene, i doubt that you got the accolades that you really deserved whilst alive.
I marvel at your brilliance and total comic genius.

I’m a Gene Wilder fan. 2 men were very important to his film career: Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor. His best work, to me, was when he collaborated with those 2 guys.

A delightful interview with this lovely man. His reaction to the question about meeting Mel Brooks was very sweet. They were a match made in heaven.

This guy was born to make people laugh. Impossible not to smile, just by looking at him. Yet, he was very wise, sensitive and humble too. Most celebrities today are nothing like that.

I think you're hit the nail on the head there. Most "celebrities". That's what most of them are. Whereas so many actors from the 40s-70s had lived actual real lives too and became famous by accident of filmmaking. So they had humanity, a sense of reality. And also used the absurdity of normal life in film. Making it so much more relatable.

@@OlafProtto be fair, most Hollywood actors lived in a bubble back then also, particularly the Golden Age, 40s, 50s.. People generally just had more style.

A very thoughtful, insightful interview. Great questions & excellent answers. I wasn't aware the Gene Wilder was such a deep thinker. Would that all celebrity interviews were like this.

Truly great man inside and out, very articulate and always calm and well spoken, in 2024 the interviewer would be none stop interrupting and trying to make it about themselves and talking about social media and boring stuff like that, this was how you interview a star

One of my absolute favourite actors, and a fascinating interview that finished way too soon. His smile brings back so many memories. Please post more of this interview, and others from the same era. The film stars of this time seemed to have something about them that's lacking today. Intelligence, humility, self-awareness, sensitivity and charisma.

I've always admired how self aware and precise he was. His passing was one of the harder ones in terms of celebrities, for me. He wasn't just a celebrity, he was somebody who kept his soul and you could feel his warmth through the screen. Such an amazing person that this world was blessed with 💙
