Thank you! In this video you tried some small midi keyboards with the push, I wonder if as a piano player do you find 25 keys limiting? What’s the smallest number of keys you would use regularly?

Im planning to buy my first push controller, it really looks cool and seems like will simplify producing tracks. But it might sound dumb but i have been using a midi controller with 49 keys since past 3 years and havent had any experience in drum machines or button midis. Can someone answer my question on how do you play chords on this device? Like how do i get the piano layout so i can play notes on this? Is it a learning curve if you are coming from a traditional midi controller?

  • @aquaticborealis4877

MPE is a nice feature, but it requires some practice to nail the execution. And I think editing the mpe performance afterwards is not as easy as regular midi. Just something to be aware of.

I would like to know more about the internal working of the Push 3, like upgrade hardware kits and their specifications. But also, what are the current limits of what you can do with the standalone Push 3 with the i3-1115G4 specs?
A Push 3 non-standalone paired with a semi decent laptop of $900 (with Intel i5/i7 or AMD Ryzen 7) would have more capability at the same price.

Anyway it sounds exactly the same as MPE and can be done live.

Like other standalone devices (maschine+, akai etc), no it doesn’t. You get the built in Ableton devices and max for live devices (according to this video). You can understand why that is the case but yes, it is limiting. I’ve never really used the Ableton instruments much as they always feel “crammed in” to the device strip. Personally think I’ll be sticking to my maschine+

I just bought an MPC Live 2, and my biggest disappointment has been the lack of a built-in audio interface. I knew about this before I bought it, because I do my research, but it’s still a bummer.
If the Push 3 standalone didn’t cost so much more than the Live 2, I’d probably regret my purchase. Also, the Push 3 was predictably out of stock on day one, and I’m sure it will be a struggle to buy one for quite a while.

Not trying to nitpick, so maybe just take this as constructive criticism. There seems to be a lot of room noise on your mic. Idk if your room is treated or not, but it's pretty distracting, especially because your channel is audio focused and your audience is more discerning when it comes to audio quality. There are some really good set it and forget room reverb removal plugins out there. Not a bad idea to try one out for your mic. I'm using deroom by accentize and it would work great in this application.

Why is it that the majority of YT producers visual sets/backgrounds, look better than their audio sounds? The recorded voice audio and mix is lackluster compared to the background visual set. What you are buying on this channel is the presentation, not the audio capabilities.

    1. pre installed with the Cripple-Ware 'intro' version of Ableton. (not a very able 'Ableton')

    3. file naming like you're using a Sega Genisis/Megadrive system d-pad select a letter at a time like you ware back in 1990's.

    5. no sd card slot, no usb memory stick use or over USB for adding files.
