Evan, I’ve been watching you for years and enjoying your content. It amazes me that you were able to do so much even though you were working full time. Now I’m watching you and it still amazes me how much you’re able to accomplish. So a wall of shame makes no sense to me. You and Rebecca work too hard to be ashamed by anything that goes sideways. Give yourself some grace and look at all the amazing things you’ve accomplished. You need a different wall for all you’ve accomplished.
I recommend using two clamps on each side and each side have the tension coming from both ways , worth a shot! It helps with lubrication and pressure lines 😊🙏👍❤️
Lucky break with the hydraulic hit. I would double up those jubilee clips as I could not see a swage on the pipe. Great progress made and much appreciated from here in the New Forest UK.
Pete from " Just a few Acre" does the branches in the woods to rot down and for wild life. Yes we all are happy the break was a easy fix, May have to let the Saw cool down now and again ,
Way to make due with what you've got. When you run into problems, you always seem to find a way to make it work which is impressive. Glad you were able to get the land cleared out. Always enjoy watching!
With your metal skills you could build a belly plate to protect the undercarriage. Maybe your sponsor would take that on and offer it as an option. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
I got rid of all my dewalts and purchased all Milwaukee tools. They work great for awhile than stop working. The cost to repair once warranty is over is more than purchasing new, but how many people can afford $200-$300 to replace a tool every 18 months. I’m going back to the hand pole saw and corded tools. For what one battery tool cost I can replace 4 with corded. I’ve been told from Milwaukee that it’s the switches that go first
I still believe gas is king when it comes to outside working tools like pole saws. The most expensive pole saw stihl makes is $750 and it telescopes and has way more power than battery. Same with weed eaters, hedge trimmers, blowers.
I did the same. I have many 18v dewalt tools that ive aquired over the years and theyve worked great. Now dewalt has discontinued making new 18v batteries and the 20v with adapters are pretty useless. Hugely dissappointed with dewalt for this reason. Ive started using all my corded tools again. Flea markets and garage sales are great sources for cheap corded tools
I still have a 9.6v Makita cordless drill from the early 90s. Batteries don't last long but it still works better than a new broken DeWalt or makita😂😂😂
Check the point where metal meets metal on battery and tool. Sometimes a little wear or rust can cause this issue. Emory cloth or very fine sandpaper might help.
Glad you were able to fix the tractor issue on your own! Most battery powered tool aren't meant to be as hard as gas powered or plugged in electrical tools for long periods of time. I've learned that over time also.
Great job mate but sorry what happened in the previous of. You getting there mate chin up that’s live it never goes as you expect it to all the best mate cheers
you should try the bigger 60 volt dewalt batteries they usually work a lot better for stuff like saws, grinders, etc even if the tool doesnt require the full 60 volts. They switch between 20 and 60 depending on what you put them in.
Rule #2. Never run over something you can move out of the way. The minimal amount of time it will take is well invested. That said I’m happy it was a minor issue and I hope that’s all it amounts to. Another busy day on the farm is in the books!
Looking good mate. At least you figured out that the Pole saw is just an overheating problem. Always better than an actual fault so that'll save you a few dollars. Take care 👍
Evan....it might be a real good idea to double clamp both ends of that hose make sure the clamps are stagered so they seal good.... and hopefully that won't happen again !
You also need a tractor mounted 3 point linkage chippper...one of those cheap Chinese ones will do the job. All the chips of those cut trees spread amongst the growing trees will boost their growth by 10%... \all the minerals etc. that were taken up by the cut trees are concentrated right back around the growing trees and becomes available so much quicker as the "breaking down" process is sped up....
If it's not the pole saw motor, it can be your charger. I watched a video that would charge the battery. Some chargers won't charge if the battery isn't low enough. They showed how to drain the battery and recharge. It worked.
Motor Overheat. Thermocouple fuse opens. Resets on Cool down. The duty cycle of the saw is likey rated at 20 min per hour. Maybe less. Standard with todays battery appliances, especially howeowner rated. Nothing wrong. Keep on keeping on.
Evan if you keep using that pole saw, I've found to hit the bottom of the branch with the top of the saw for a second, then cut from top. The branch will fall down and not swing down, saving a pinch on the saw if the branch twist. Thanks for sharing your retirement with us!!! Winter is getting closer!!!
Nice job, looks really good. I've had the same problem with my pole saw and, since I have a lot of trimming to do to clean up the edges of my fields, getting my new back yard established..., I just bit the bullet and got a nice gas powered one. It's heavier for sure but, also has a more power which makes it somewhat easier to use since it cuts quicker and doesn't get hung up/pinched as easily so kind of a tradeoff 🤷♂. I've also got two young sons and one grandson that's not far from being big enough to handle it, so...😁.
very cool! its nice to see that someone is takeing care of the Cemetery! ive seen some old ones you cant get acess to very well that are just taken over with grass and weed with a few trees!
I know I'm late commenting on this video but definitely look for a skid plate for your tractor. I have a small Kubota BX series tractor and a couple of acres of land but one of the first things that several of my friends with tractors said was you have a lot of scrub brush and a lot of trees and sticks, get yourself a skid plate. I did find one that connects in fairly easy and I have actually hit several branches close to the size of yours and no damage except two the skid plate. Actually hit one that caught on the skid plate and tipped the tractor up a foot or so, scared the crap out of me but the skid plate did it's job as I know it would have trashed a lot of the hydraulics or the hydraulic fan in the back of my Kubota. Can't recommend one enough.
Hi Evan and Rebeka!! We love your videos!! We think you need a little break and should come visit the Antique Engine and Tractor Show in Portland Indiana. It's August 21-24th. It's alot of and we would love to meet you!!!!
You are very Blessed to have these 2 new tractors provided to you !!! A lot of sweet and tears would have gone into clearing this mess by hand !!! Ask this old man how he knows!!!! Be careful and God bless !!!!! Eddy
As close as you are to the shop, I would like to suggest you put a small gate in. This way if you break down or have something get out, you don't have to go all the way around.
It always looks nice when a fellow can clean up an old fence line and clear the area around it of brush and limbs. You did get lucky with that hydraulic hose being pulled loose, maybe a little bend in the return line, easy fix though! Hopefully nothing else was found to be tore up, good luck with it. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a good weekend!
I wonder if you've ever thought of building, or having built a car port off the front of the house somewhere, to keep the vehicles under cover, to protect them from hail, and to make it more comfortable when unloading groceries during rain storms, and to help try and keep snow and ice off of vehicles during the Winter? Just a thought.
If you can take the covers off and get to the electronics and use a can of freeze spray on the components you might find the one that's causing it to shutdown or maybe see what's going on inside if it happens to be a short or something!
I like the Milwaukee tools but I see many videos of people with DeWalt tools too. Many people are switching to Milwaukee though. I know my batteries last a very long time and I have had zero complaints. My 1/2" impact broke a 5/8" grade 8 bolt in two the first time I tried it and that says a lot. Glad you just had a hose fall off. jack
I always like how land looks have a brush hoging it. Someday when you're old and retired you cab start a new channel called, The Wall of Shame and tell stories about each trophy. 👍👍👍
You did great Evan on getting the trees trimed, bush moved out of the way, and u fixed ur tractor to boot. I don't like the hot heat too.. or the cold weather.
Well... you fairly went out on a limb with this one. 😂🤪. Nice vid and grea5 idea for letting the branches rot down in there investment.. not point making extra work for yourselves moving it further.. stay safe 🏴
Evan it's not the battery on your pole saw, it's the duty cycle of the saw motor, it's got too hot , just let it rest. I've been there done that with a Greenworks pole saw.
Great Video , I think the cutting head on your chain saw is getting hot , if it over heats you'll burn it out, must be some sort of relay in it. But you got the job done. Looking good..continued Success !
Love watching your videos. Sorry, all that happened to you. Could you make a guard to fit over the hose that came off so that doesn't happen again. Also, are you going to put a gate where you can go in and out from the limb pile. Hope you have a better week coming up. Tell your lovely wife hello and miss seeing her on the videos. You are doing an awesome job!!
Evan, I have the same Dewalt set up- yes, they do overheat, which is my i always have gas as backup. Love the electric, just cant work more than 30 min at a time. I have too many acres to do that!
I'll tell you how to keep braking things, don't do nothing just set down. Just keep working thing are going to break it 's not just you it happens to all that work. keep up the work you are doing a good job.
Yes. Continue to add onto your wood trash pile hidden in the trees. Add on with recovery in mind. In only 3-4 years today's fence clearing waste will become a perpetual composting factory producing tons of high quality garden soil packed with microbial life to use around the farm. It didn't and won't ever cost a dime and the tractor does all the work. Pretty fence line job!
Thank you for your videos. I always look forward to seeing them as I find them interesting and enjoyable to watch. I also admire your calm good humour when things don't always go to plan, take care and kind regards from a 73 year old grandmother from Norfolk, UK
It might be worth considering a battery pole saw from husky or stihl. They are a lot sturdier as the higher range tools are designed for all day professional use. Your residential use is equivalent to commercial, and those dewalt saws are for low duty cycle residential use. You've probably just worn it out.
I was in landscaping for several years. I found using a silky poll saw was the best for cutting limbs in trees. My pole saw extended out to sixteen feet. It was not heavy it worked really good.
Glad you dodged a bullet with that one. With all the things that have gone wonky recently it’s really good you have skills to deal with so many different problems. May all your problems be repairable.
Milwaukee does make a pole saw. Have one and it works fine. It may be longer that that yellow one but it does get heavy with both extensions I don’t think I have only used it 3 hours or so in 2 years I have had it
Don’t forget to put a gate at the entrance to that limb pile. Just to have access for the future.
Enjoying all of the extra videos compared to before you left your job projects really moving
Agree❤👍👍
AMEN!!
I would consider putting in 2 12 foot gates to give you an entrance to your brush pile. Looking great and enjoy your videos
You can be very proud of yourself. You did good all on your own. ❤️🙏
Nothing beats the internal combustion engine
Reminds me of my type of day. Nothing like being able to overcome problems on your own.
I recommend using two clamps on each side and each side have the tension coming from both ways , worth a shot! It helps with lubrication and pressure lines 😊🙏👍❤️
It's not a wall of shame, it's a wall of challenges. Keep up the great work!
Lucky break with the hydraulic hit. I would double up those jubilee clips as I could not see a swage on the pipe. Great progress made and much appreciated from here in the New Forest UK.
We love your videos and wish they were longer it’s nice watching family friendly videos , they’re getting hard to find these days.
Good work with the fencing project
Pete from " Just a few Acre" does the branches in the woods to rot down and for wild life. Yes we all are happy the break was a easy fix, May have to let the Saw cool down now and again ,

Evan you always do a great job! Every thing looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!
With your metal skills you could build a belly plate to protect the undercarriage. Maybe your sponsor would take that on and offer it as an option. Enjoying the channel. Tks for sharing.
Ya done a good job. Just remember that pole saw needs a rest every now and then.
It’s always something
Nice fix glad it was simple
Fence like looks great 👍

You work that bushhog good enough to qualify for a job with the State Highway Dept. Cutting grass along the highways! LOL 🤪
Glad you were able to fix the tractor issue on your own! Most battery powered tool aren't meant to be as hard as gas powered or plugged in electrical tools for long periods of time. I've learned that over time also.
That is good progress. Working through all those issues is not easy. Thank you for sharing.
Makita 18v has never let me down, got tools from 2005 still working good.
Great job mate but sorry what happened in the previous of. You getting there mate chin up that’s live it never goes as you expect it to all the best mate cheers
Great job looking great very nice keep up the great work love your videos thank you
Consider making a thin metal Belly Pan to protect your tractor from future damage since it is a low set tractor
Excellent idea!
you should try the bigger 60 volt dewalt batteries they usually work a lot better for stuff like saws, grinders, etc even if the tool doesnt require the full 60 volts. They switch between 20 and 60 depending on what you put them in.
That Wall of shame is going to be a Room of shame by the time you get it built😂
A wall of only trial and error. Learning. Not shame! They need to never be ashamed.

Sometimes, stuff happens.... For no other reason than to aggravate us. Hang in there bud.
Looking good mate. At least you figured out that the Pole saw is just an overheating problem. Always better than an actual fault so that'll save you a few dollars. Take care 👍
Hi.... Evan thanks you for showing your video homestead chicken 🐓 duck 🦆 goose farmer garden BYE 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
Evan....it might be a real good idea to double clamp both ends of that hose make sure the clamps are stagered so they seal good.... and hopefully that won't happen again !

Good thing you are handy with tools because it might cost you even more otherwise.
I really enjoy these videos of clearing
Saw overheated. Problem is not the battery
My younger sister and her husband also have a very old cemetery that borders their farm. Sadly most if the graves are babies and very young children.
If it's not the pole saw motor, it can be your charger. I watched a video that would charge the battery. Some chargers won't charge if the battery isn't low enough. They showed how to drain the battery and recharge. It worked.
I had the same exact problem with my 654 while I was using a forestry mulcher. Mine dumped almost all the hydraulic fluid before I noticed it.
Thanks for posting Evan
Motor Overheat. Thermocouple fuse opens. Resets on Cool down. The duty cycle of the saw is likey rated at 20 min per hour. Maybe less. Standard with todays battery appliances, especially howeowner rated. Nothing wrong. Keep on keeping on.

Phew!
You're a lucky man!
Could have been a lot worse... 😅
Thanks a lot for the video! 😊👍🏻
Great video. Thanks!
Oh , The life of a Farmer
Thanks, Evan. That fence line will be complete in no time!
Hi Evan and Rebeka!! We love your videos!! We think you need a little break and should come visit the Antique Engine and Tractor Show in Portland Indiana. It's August 21-24th. It's alot of and we would love to meet you!!!!
I just bought a Milwaukee Quik Lok pole saw this week, you can switch attachments on it ,bought it online from Acme Tools
Clearing is such a pain. We just got done clearing 2 acres of pasture. Only 140 more to go 😂
You are very Blessed to have these 2 new tractors provided to you !!! A lot of sweet and tears would have gone into clearing this mess by hand !!! Ask this old man how he knows!!!! Be careful and God bless !!!!! Eddy
Evan you need a shed of shame lol but I do really enjoy watching you grow and maintain the farm keep the videos coming
So lucky that's all it was Even. I run over one backing up and it went above the front axel and hit the fan and damaged the radiator on my Kubota.
Enjoy the journey- the destination sometimes can be disappointing!
Love the brush hog. What a piece of kit 😊
As close as you are to the shop, I would like to suggest you put a small gate in. This way if you break down or have something get out, you don't have to go all the way around.
Accidents will happen and I like the way you handle them, you look at the problem, find a solution and fix it and move on.

nice work Evan you might put double clamps on each side of that return line!!

Another part to add to your wall of mishaps. 😆 LOL!

I’ve seen those pole saws have intermittent connections from vibration over time, usually in the pole or saw end.
Similar problems on my dewalt drill I took it apart and the fault was the trigger switch checked connections put it back together been fine ever since
Well... you fairly went out on a limb with this one. 😂🤪. Nice vid and grea5 idea for letting the branches rot down in there investment.. not point making extra work for yourselves moving it further.. stay safe 🏴
I've found that when the battery become hot and the tool that happens and even if it gets damp
With just a couple of setbacks you really got quite a bit done so just a little more to go 👍...........................
You did a great job, you’re amazing.

i was going to weld some tabs on the 1 x 3 tube under tractor and mount a skid plate
Very good video

I have to replace my Ryobi mower battery. I was surprised that it lasted almost 7 yrs.
Milwaukee does big battery operated song when they are extremely expensive with the battery and even the charger is separate
Yay! Ducks!
