Sam. When you turn a propane tank upside like that...They release liquid propane. Which is why your torch is acting the way it is in the video. If you just turn the tank the right way up. You won't have the issues you were having with it. Hope that helps. Another great video.
Adding a layer of gravel at the bottom of the post hole promotes proper drainage by allowing water to move away from the post. It helps prevent water from pooling around the base, reducing the risk of rotting. Using concrete to secure fence posts provides stability and prevents movement. Fill the first three inches up with gravel so the end of the post doesn't come into contact with the dirt. Gravel allows water to drain quickly away from the post and into the soil. Be sure to place the post in the center of the hole. Finally, fill the entire hole up with cement to the top.
PS: Tip to get wire through a conduit; get some strong fishing line or strong twine; make and attach a paper ball just big enough so not to be tight in the conduit. Use a vacuum cleaner on the other end to suck the line through the conduit, attach any needed cables + again a twine (future use), pull trough presto! Make sure to leave twine the full length in the conduit for future use.
No need to waste time with a paper ball. Get a plastic shopping bag and tie string to bag handles. Vacuum will pull that plastic bag through conduit better than an actual purpose made conduit mouse. Works a treat.

Best guess is that nobody had any idea of what was buried there. Locators are no help with pvc…. Just dig it up and repair it. No problemo! Glad to see you back…
Direct burial wire This type of electrical wire is designed to be buried directly into the ground without a conduit or metal cladding. It's made to withstand harsh underground conditions and is often used for running electricity, pet fencing, and more.
Never do that, always run wires in conduit. It saves the wire from being damaged, especially in NY where she is. Frost is a killer. P,us if you ever need to upgrade or the wire does fail it can be pulled out and replaced without digging the lawn up again.
I pray you don’t ever do electrical work for anyone. Just because direct wire is up to code to be direct buried doesn’t mean you shouldn’t run it in conduit to protect it and make future pulls easier. Who knows, maybe they’ll need a 2nd circuit down there in the future and if there’s conduit you can easily pull a new run without digging up the lawn again.

Tie a rag to some string and get it started at one end and get a shop vac at the other end , the shop vac will pull the strip then tie your wire to the string and pull it down the line

This job was bid I believe, we were responsible for repairs (naturally) after you’ve done it a few times you understand nothing ever goes right and the bid covers (to an extent of course) unknown costs. Usually depends job to job how I will bid and the room for error some jobs are just so unpredictable you are better off charging T&M for both your sake and the clients. There is money is everything if you do it well, like anything there is a grace period where you have to learn the way of the business, learn from your mistakes and accept that there might be the occasional job you underbid. Similarly to the saying that bad clients are the price of good clients.

Purely out of curiosity, any reason not to run the conduit up the back side of the light pole so it's not visible?
That's where we were told to put it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thats what happens when you hold propane upside down , hold the bottle straight up and you won't get the orange flame .
