I just have to say this, the world right now needs more families like yours! I think you all are top quality people and I could only wish for there to be a world filled with such people. While I like to stay informed about current events it is so nice to have your channel to remind me that the entire world is not evil. There are still good honest people out there!!! Keep doing exactly what you’re doing and know that you are impacting lives whether you know it or not!
Just the look on Houston's face while picking up those fish broke my heart. I remember on one video that you both said that it would be hard to eat them because you raised them from babies. My heart goes out to you. But like you said, you can start over bigger and better! Now Dusty from Cross Timber Bison has to get his done. ❤❤❤
I came here to comment the same! The look on Houston’s face carrying those dying bass just broke my heart!🥲 That boy has a giant heart just like Daniel!
Those boy’s were having a contest to see who could get the muddiest I think. I’m sure it hurt yours and Houston’s heart to see all of those stranded fish, cause it hurt mine. I was thinking about the outside shower when you were trying to rinse off Houston. He needed a scrub brush and a bar of soap and so did the other boys.
Seeing the boys covered in mud would cost a lot at a spa. LOL since the water was draining into the creek you could see some fish made it. Like any remodel it takes a mess to improve the project. I believe the new pond will be beautiful & some of the snags will be gone.
A memory that the boys will never forget....the fun of being so muddy....and working so hard to save as many fish as they could. And did you ever see a dog enjoy mud so much - Kelce was a mess, but so happy to be a mess with her boys. Thank you for sharing.
The adventures of the day dad drained the pond will be memories that stay with Houston forever. Hope the new pond turns out to be everything ya'll want.
The pain before the gain. This is gonna be cool! Just think, there will come a time when folks can't remember the pond ever being any other way than the expanded version. It was great watching the boys, and Kelce, have fun in the muck. I'm sure you'll get a fair share of criticism for the fish that didn't make it, but I get it. You do what you can. This is awesome!
You can't save them all. They did the best they could. If that pond drains into the creek the fish will have a good chance of making it. And Daniel, the memories are in your head and heart, not in the pond. I learned
Daniel I know how you are feeling for have to do this to your pond that has been in your family for a very long time. I want to told you that I like all of your videos with the family but this one is sad but I know you will make it bigger and better for the family. God bless you y'all and for your brother-in-law to because I seen his video on his pond to.
All that pond silt (muck) makes excellent fertilizer for flower beds, gardens, lawns, etc - use all you can and consider sharing with neighbors or even selling some to defray the cost of draining and rebuiding the pond. Thanks for sharing your emotional day with us. 👍❤
It depends on the quality of the water that was in the pond via runoff. I don't know his location, but run-off from farms can make it useless muck. The pond I rehabbed had zero oxygen due to airport runway fuels, so we just spread it out over the land.
We drained our pond when I was just about Houston's age. That's a wonderful memory I have with my Dad. So glad to see Houston getting to experience this with Daniel.
The boys did a great job with trying to save fish and collecting dead ones so they don’t go to waste. I have watched you for many years and saw all the hard work you did to make the pond a great fishing place. It was sad to watch but I know you will make it even better.❤
Reminds me a little growing up on the farm back in the 80s. Our pond had gotten overgrown with cattails, so daddy had me and my 4 brothers pull every one out by its roots. Muddy mess in July but it made good memories
What a bitter sweet day, but what an epic experience for the boys! They'll never forget this, it's locked into their long term memory. They will look back on this video and laugh when they see that they looked like zombies. Bless the boys for working so hard to save fish. The right thing was done for the future of this pond, a life lesson they will carry forever. The excavator guy did a fantastic job.
The memories of today will be stories told by yourself, Houston, and his friends out there for many years to come. Your younger subscribers will be watching the Grandkids grow up on your new pond as I watched Houston and Jacoby grow up on this one. I also believe that from this day forward, you will see your channel skyrocket. That's my wish for you, Daniel. God bless you and your beautiful family. And as always, I'm sending love from NC.
It is a rare gift to have a place like the pond in your life. Your lifetime of good times is something to celebrate and you will have them again sooner than you think.
My husband now sit and watches your videos with me Daniel. I never thought that would happen. I am so excited too see this new adventure happen. Just hope I can live to see it complete. Be safe & God Bless. I love my Arms Family.🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟❤❤❤
I love the compassion you have for your fish and other creatures that make the pond home, good hearts Daniel ❤️ that will be fabulous soil from the fish fertilizer 😊
Pond was very much alive, time to rebuild and upgrade. Going to be a long and big project but it’s for a good cause. When Houston is older he will always remember what you guys did on this day.
That was some beautiful looking soil being opened up for the pond flow. That is wonderful that friends came to help out. At least they are @ the right age to still get mucky and have fun @ the same time.

I love to watch you talk to your animals like they are your friend its so enjoyable to watch you. You make me smile everyday Dan and your farm animals make Me smile as well. Stay real with the feelings.😊
My heart breaks, too, Daniel. You're not crying on camera, but believe me, Sir, there's not a man out there that wouldn't be crying right along with you. Those boys are one crazy, muddy mess. Oh my! Don't waste any time. Look at the bright side now. You and Houston have so much to look forward to and plan for. Plus, like you said, fishing at the creek should be great as soon as the water clears. I'll be one of your millions of viewers to enjoy those videos
So sorry for your loss! The look on Houston’s face, as he was carrying those bass, was heartbreaking! On a lighter note, I wish I lived close enough to be in on the fish fry. The great big boys are waiting in the creek for you(I pray). Thank you for the video🌟
Oh my goodness! That was tough! At least you saved a lot of them! And y’all will cook them up for the family! It was good seeing Coby and the other boys! Seems like every time I see Coby, he’s grown a few inches! I hope everyone is doing well! Lots of prayers for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
So much time and effort went into making that pond what it is / was. It will be fun watching the clean up. And can't wait to see what the new pond looks like.
Oh those are some wonderfully muddy muddy boys. I'll bet they had the time of their lives. Mud washes off and that's an experience to remember. Watching the many hundreds of fish jumping as they left the pond thousands made it to the river. Sad that so many didn't but still the majority are river fish now. It's a sight. After it starts to dry you can go on a lost lure hunt.
@janethart7402 creek crick river it's a flowing ribbon of water. Why be argumentative over a word? Where you come from decides what word you use. You just wanna be negative. Smile and be nice. It's easier.
A lot of good memories with ponds You gotta do what you gotta do to make it healthy😊 Remember when I was a Little girl me and my dad used to go fishing all the time we pk a lunch and go fishing good times!! I just love seeing the boys play in the mud And having so much fun😂💜 This is about my favorite video seriously😜
A few hot 😭 down back of my throat watching this. Years ago we had fishing hole that we loved deeply, it was a part of a old beaver dam that caught up lots of water from us upstream.Made best fishing hole ever, sunnies, bass, a few northerns and bull heads. It wasn't good for swimming but the fishing was the bomb. Then the guy sold that piece of property, the new owner cut the beaver dam and we lost our fishing hole. The dam had been there for at least 20 yrs. Found out many years later he was not supposed cut that dam. It was against the law and he was fined heavily for it. I know y'all will have a good fish fry. And it will take a few years to get this back but it's worth it.
The boys and Kelse had a bang up time. Worried me a bit when they were up to their armpits in mud. It will be interesting to see how you build the new pond.
It’s tough right now but the end results will be worth the effort. I’m excited to watch the whole process and see the excitement that you and Houston have as you move through it.
Watching this process tugged at my heart so I can only imagine yours Daniel. At least you know the new pond will be better and you saved some of the fish to eat!! I had more fun watching the boys play in the mud that words can describe ♥️♥️♥️
Daniel, it will still be the pond, just a little bigger, and perhaps a better habitat for the fish. When it is all done, I'm sure you will appreciate what you have done. I know we will. Be Safe, and God Bless!
Can understand why it’s a sad day for yous. I enjoyed your time fishing. What made me smile was the lads enjoying the mud. Here’s to the future bigger and better
We has a very small pond with a dam & waterfall in our back yard when I was a teen. Every couple of years we would have to drain the pond to get rid of the silt that had filled the pond from the stream that ran thru the pond. My Dad used a gas powered water pump and an old fire hose to push the silt thru the drain and down the stream and past the dam. It was a messy job that needed to get done. This brought back memories, for sure. It was fun watching the boys and Kelcie get all muddy as they struggled thru the silt and mud. It will all be worth it in the end. Then it will be enjoyed by your family for generations to come. Perhaps your kids will grow up and build their own homes on your land someday. It's fun to dream, isn't it? With prayers, love and gentle hugs for you all and your critters too, from Donna in Florida. 🙏🙏🤞🚣🐢🐟🥰
Thank you so much for sharing draining the pond with us. Most, I imagine, would never get to experience this. I’m sorry it’s emotional for you all, lots of history and good times. Again that was amazing! Love all the kids having that experience too. Love you all and looking forward to watching your pond be bigger and better!❤️😢😂😊
This is the fun part, watching this drain😂😂😂😂😂. Thanks, Daniel, for letting me watch this and then the new creation coming up.❤❤. I wish this old woman was close by, I would take some for my freezer for the winter. 😅😅😅. Yes any one that fish, like myself is feeling your alls hurting. 😪
It was sad to see it go. But it had too. Then the boys got in there and got a lot of fish out and got a lot of them too make them ready for a fish fry. You all did a great job.
It's definitely heart breaking to see the fish dying before your eyes as your pond disappears. What's left is an interesting look at what was below the surface. It's normal to be emotional about watching your lifelong pond disappear. There is the bright side to remember. It will be back better and healthier for the fish. I can't wait to watch the rebuild and one day the restocking. I hope a large amount of fish made it to the creek. It's good to see boys doing what boys do! My boys loved getting coated in mud then being hosed off. Good times.
This is for Houston, honey you are all boy who’s up for just about anything, I want to commend you for how you respect your parents, parents friends, and strangers and your compassion for animals big, small and everything in between is heartwarming♥️. I think about this all the time then after seeing you carry that little turtle through that deep pond bottom slop was to be commended and I just had to get this out. You and your sister are being raised right but it’s you two who ultimately make the choices for yourselves😊. It’s actually going to be good to get that pond cleaned out and think of all the adventures ahead. Like your daddy said… “hurt’s, but we’re going to come back bigger, better, badder”. God bless you Houston, you and your beautiful family🙏🏻. One day you’ll be fishing for Bass and Bluegill with your son in that “bigger, better, badder😁” pond telling him about this day🥹. Building memories🐾🐾😇🙏🏻
Mr Daniel,I've really enjoyed this video, reminds me of a time not too long ago I was watching my own kids and their friends Waller in the mud from a drained pond, except the mud wasn't brown, for fome reason it was black, after the kids came out of the pond from playing in the mud,all you could see was their teeth and the whites of their eyes because they were completely covered from head to toe in black mud, looking forward to watching more on the pond rebuild, may the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
I completely understand that there is an end to the means….. but this broke my heart 😢!! I’m bawling at how many fish were lost. I’m bawling because; though I know it’s going to be bigger and better, it’s sad that we as viewers will miss out on your pond videos for years 😢😢😢😢😢😢. God bless all the efforts put into this project! God bless AFH
The thing that amazes me is, no Snapping Turtles, We had a pond similar to the size of that one, and over 2 days, we took 78 out of it, put them in 55 gal drums, to soak, and invited the American Legion members to a Turtle feed, we had baked Turtle Fried Turtle Turtle Soup, Amish Coleslaw, Bake beans and Rolls for 3.00 dollars a ticket to cover the other food, this was several years ago, It was funny that so many people showed up to try it. and liked it
Those boys will never forget this day. Houston will be fishing with you and your grandkids, telling them all about the day you guys drained the pond. The new pond and land will be handed down to your grandkids because of your perseverance and grit,
@@juliairwin4481 lol that’s back in the 80’s when you could do stuff like that without some snowflake calling DHS on ya. 🤣🤣 nothing like power washing the kids off.
Pretty cool, reminds me of some good times as a youth. Fetching bullfrogs out of the pond that grandad shot. Took back to grandma and she fried up and good mess of frog legs. So rich in protein-had to ration so don’t get belly ache. Delicious, happened 2 or 3 times delicious every time. Never had any that good since. All the spawning beds , cool never saw a pond drained before. Thanks for the video dude, I’m thankful to God for rural America
Oh my Goodness! My heart just sinks seeing that excavator tear that last bit of Damn out. I know it will lead to a bigger , better and healthier pond for all to enjoy.
Walter, thank you for this wonderful photos...each one was a very different story. George's Wedding, so sweet. Uncle Ken so handsome in his suit, happy time's. Even pic's of you and Robert. Thoughts of you all brought smiles and a tear or two. Guess I just love your family stories too ❤
Your pond drained fast. The boys had a great time. Yes, you lost alot of fish. But, you're right! So much more flowed down to the creek. When all is said and done, you will have an even much better pond to enjoy. It's nice that Houston is experiencing this with you, Daniel. He'll have stories to tell when he's older. Praying for all to be well in the years ahead. God bless y'all! 😯🐟🐢😂😊😘🙏🏻❤️
Hey Daniel I Just Wanted To Say That I Am So Sorry That You're Having To Go Through This Situation. I Just Wish I Was Closer I Would Help You Try And Save As Many Fish As Possible.
Yes that hurt to see the loss of so many fish. Do you know how much some ladies pay to sit in a mud bath?? and the three boys got it for free. Mud water boys and a dog! Does it get any better than that? Kelce was having so much fun! I was thinking I wish I was there just to be in the mud!! It looked like so much fun! It is so nice to see Jacobi once again. Now to get rid of all the mud and get the deeper, bigger pond happening! I look forward to the days to come!!🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
❤❤That is fantastic seeing those boys out there having such a great time!!! That's what kids should be doing. They will remember this forever. Houston. is a fantastic young man and his friends as well. Great to see.
Uuuueeeeeeeee‼️ look at thoes 3 little mud puppies😂. Yummie fish fry. You could hear it in your voice, Daniel, that's a lot of memories floating down to the creek 👋😳🥺🫡 Excited to see what you have planned for the new-old pond give it a family name.
Goodness Daniel! Seeing those boys out there brought back memories of years gone by when Houston and Jacoby first started fishing together at the creek! And poor Earl missed out on the fun! Can you imagine getting all the mud outta his fur!! lol It sure would have been fun watching him. Can’t wait to see things to come!
I know it's gonna be bigger an better in a couple of months , but I've been watching since the kiddos were babies fish in y'alls daddy's pond . I cried not gonna lie . Now it's gonna be Hustons turn to tell his youngins about his daddy's pond and one day fish with his babies an their Grandaddy Daniel. Love y'all and God Bless y'all 💯🙏❤🇺🇸
Maybe you should try putting some catfish in the pond with your pond expansion by trying something different. I think Houston had fun getting the big catfish out of the Creek.I think he might enjoy growing his own and maybe seeing how big they get by catching them in the pond
I'm almost 40 and I think I'd be out there in the mud with the boys too! Man that brings back memories! Great video! Can't wait to see the work on the pond!
20 years from now Houston and Jacoby sitting around a fire pit with their wives telling stories about the time they single handedly saved a ton of fish from a mud pit and that is why to this day their skin is still silky smooth, lol. I could watch those boys being boys all day long. How concerned they all were for the fish that have brought them so much joy. Adventures make memories that last a lifetime.
I have been watching your channel for probably 4 years now and it was tough for me to watch the pond draining so I can't imagine how you felt. It will be good again!
I had to save this so I could rewatch it. Progress sometimes comes at a great sentimental cost, and I commend you all on your new horizon. God bless you all and progress on.
Daniel, i cryed when i seen you hurting, yall are like family to us and many others, keep the faith, you'ii have a great big lake soon, i'm 72 and i probably won't see it, God bless you and your family,
Reminds me of ..... Once upon a time, there was an old man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach every morning before he began his work. Early one morning, he was walking along the shore after a big storm had passed and found the vast beach littered with starfish as far as the eye could see, stretching in both directions. Off in the distance, the old man noticed a small boy approaching. As the boy walked, he paused every so often and as he grew closer, the man could see that he was occasionally bending down to pick up an object and throw it into the sea. The boy came closer still and the man called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?” The young boy paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up onto the beach and they can’t return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When the sun gets high, they will die, unless I throw them back into the water.” The old man replied, “But there must be tens of thousands of starfish on this beach. I’m afraid you won’t really be able to make much of a difference.” The boy bent down, picked up yet another starfish and threw it as far as he could into the ocean. Then he turned, smiled and said, “It made a difference to that one!” adapted from The Star Thrower, by Loren Eiseley (1907 - 1977)
It’s been years since I wallered in the mud! It’s so fun 😂 Daniel it’s great to see you fillet those fish and cook them. Waste not 😀 I would’ve did the same. We love to eat fish. That just means great times with family and friends ahead and good food! The pain now will definitely be pleasure in the future after the pond is rebuilt snd you can look back at these videos after you hook your first 5lb bass in the new pond
Super excited to watch the transformation of the pond. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do. I started young just like Houston and I was hooked (pun intended) immediately. Good luck with the project, and may I suggest some rip rap on the dam for a little crankbait and jig action.
I love to see the boys playing in the mud like that. You don’t see that much anymore. They will be talking about this from now on. Great memories ❤️
That’s what I thought too and they didn’t have phones in their hands lol
It's definitely a sad day, but the sun WILL come out tomorrow with the dawn of a NEW DAY!
Human mud puppies. Looks like fun.
Won't be long now before DJ's got ladies to take care of...
I grew up loving getting muddy & that made my heart happy. ❤

Something about not shooting fish in a barrel, but just draining the barrel.
I put a plastic bag over my head and couldn't breathe!! Hillbillies continue to survive??
It's nice to see Kobe, we haven't seen him in a while. It's brilliant seeing all the boys having fun in the mud.
We drained our pond when I was just about Houston's age. That's a wonderful memory I have with my Dad. So glad to see Houston getting to experience this with Daniel.

Your pond actually was full of decent bass lol. All you needed to do was add an aerator and you probably would’ve been fine.
Until it got too shallow! You drain a pond to re-dig it.
Hmmm verified
Windmill would be a great option...run a fountain and it provides its own power!
That was some beautiful looking soil being opened up for the pond flow. That is wonderful that friends came to help out. At least they are @ the right age to still get mucky and have fun @ the same time.

I was cracking up at the kids crawling through the mud!! Amazed at the fish jumping, and shocked at the whole show!!! Wow!
Good times.
This was interesting to watch! Thanks for sharing. I hope the new pond is better than ever & something you can enjoy for years & generations to come!
Daniel, it's awesome seeing all the boys playing in the mud. It sure didn't take long for the pond to drain. I can't wait to see it finished.
Jacobi is looking like lineman material! Cant wait to see these boys play football.
Sorry for the loss of fish. Reminded of 60 years ago when we rescued bass from my Uncle’s cattle pond. I looked like your boys.
Yelp see there you do remember it like it was yesterday don’t u. These boys will remember back to it when they have kids and grandkids
It was not drained correctly if drained right u would have not lost no fish meaning none would have died
It was not drained correctly if drained right u would have not lost no fish meaning none would have died
The thing that amazes me is, no Snapping Turtles, We had a pond similar to the size of that one, and over 2 days, we took 78 out of it, put them in 55 gal drums, to soak, and invited the American Legion members to a Turtle feed, we had baked Turtle Fried Turtle Turtle Soup, Amish Coleslaw, Bake beans and Rolls for 3.00 dollars a ticket to cover the other food, this was several years ago, It was funny that so many people showed up to try it. and liked it
I am jealous of the boys. Have all that mud to play in . I am 70 and it's been a long time since I got to play like that.
Those boys will never forget this day. Houston will be fishing with you and your grandkids, telling them all about the day you guys drained the pond. The new pond and land will be handed down to your grandkids because of your perseverance and grit,
My dad was a dozer operator when I was growing up. We did that one time. He took us to the car wash to clean us off.
Thanks for the laugh!
@@juliairwin4481 lol that’s back in the 80’s when you could do stuff like that without some snowflake calling DHS on ya. 🤣🤣 nothing like power washing the kids off.
Had the same done to me. Lol
That was neat to see! What'll really be neat is to see how many you catch outta the creek now! 👍🏼👏🏼
TFS Daniel! Blessings~
Jo
Poor little man you can see it in his face he’s an amazing young man ❤
Very much, I felt really bad for him. He'll get over it after awhile😢😢.
It's a dam
Walter, thank you for this wonderful photos...each one was a very different story. George's Wedding, so sweet. Uncle Ken so handsome in his suit, happy time's. Even pic's of you and Robert. Thoughts of you all brought smiles and a tear or two. Guess I just love your family stories too ❤
Sending prayers love and hugs. It’s sad what you had to do but I’m looking forward to your journey to upgrade your farm. ❤
Wow them boys had a wonderful time in the pond/mud. Sorry about the loss of so many fish. But the future pond will be better
Houston and the boys are getting their beauty skin mud baths 👍🏻👏🏻🙂
Great memories are being made. The boys will always talk about their adventures in the old pond! Loved this video Daniel!
Hi Coby we haven’t seen him as much lately.
OMG Daniel l sure hope that they survive because we love that pond and watching y’all fish in it! 🎣🎣🎣🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
I look forward to the days to come!!🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
That had to be Heartbreaking for You. 💔. I can only imagine. I really look forward to seeing the Rebuild. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I can’t wait to see the finished product. I hope you enjoy the fish fry.
❤❤That is fantastic seeing those boys out there having such a great time!!! That's what kids should be doing. They will remember this forever. Houston. is a fantastic young man and his friends as well. Great to see.
Daniel love and enjoy your videos. May the lord bless and protect you and your family and working on the pond and draining the pond
Uuuueeeeeeeee‼️ look at thoes 3 little mud puppies😂.
Yummie fish fry.
You could hear it in your voice, Daniel, that's a lot of memories floating down to the creek 👋😳🥺🫡
Excited to see what you have planned for the new-old pond give it a family name.
Wow that's amazing you make it look good and your Dogs will love it your Big pond is so amazing 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍
Thankyou for letting us be a part of this journey. ❤
Ok... Finally home.. Watching these kids play and making these awesome memories was so fun. Worth the wait. A great way to end my day. Thank you
Lets see this Pond get 1 million subscribers.
Lets go 💪😎🇺🇲
I'm almost 40 and I think I'd be out there in the mud with the boys too!
You only get see something like this every 40 years or so. Looking forward to the new pond / lake.
I had to save this so I could rewatch it. Progress sometimes comes at a great sentimental cost, and I commend you all on your new horizon. God bless you all and progress on.
Looks like the boys are having fun in the mud. 😂😂
May I ask what it is that you are doing?”
The young boy paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up onto the beach and they can’t return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When the sun gets high, they will die, unless I throw them back into the water.”
The old man replied, “But there must be tens of thousands of starfish on this beach. I’m afraid you won’t really be able to make much of a difference.”
The boy bent down, picked up yet another starfish and threw it as far as he could into the ocean. Then he turned, smiled and said, “It made a difference to that one!”

I love that story. Especially since someone told me once that I couldn't make a difference just recycling one can or bottle.
Great story!
I hope people will take the time to read your post. Thanks for sharing.
It's sad, but I know you'll make an even bigger pond!!
Super excited to watch the transformation of the pond. Fishing is one of my favorite things to do. I started young just like Houston and I was hooked (pun intended) immediately. Good luck with the project, and may I suggest some rip rap on the dam for a little crankbait and jig action.
