Why would anybody buy any of these garbage kits and depend your life on it? That's insane, make your own get good quality items. There are a million videos on the best things that you can do I understand you reviewing a kit that you purchase, but I can't get how people just keep buying these $20 and $30 kits that are not going to save you. All of these items are just garbage.

A lot of these kits are aimed toward the younger crowd to at least get them interested the general thought process involving survival and the value in being ready. Kind of like a cheap tackle box from Wal-Mart that has a red and white spoon in it and a no-name plastic worm with a bobber - and that's it! It could get a kid interested, but if you're serious, it's laughable. Cheers,

That "kit" is worthless. Better to buy the case and build your own. The only pre-made kits that are worth anything are the Esee mess tin kit and the Best Glide ASE mess tin kit

I'd say not 100% worthless since the multi-tool and flashlight (keep an extra few batteries) are reasonable. Otherwise, it's made to grab the interest of a younger generation discovering the concept of self-sufficiency and survival in a world gone insane. Cheers,

I bought the exact same kit by a different company . Same equipment. Half of these stuff should be on your person. Build one for yourself, it might be cheaper and more customized to you. Thanks for uploading.

Right on. Building one yourself is certainly a better idea. I wanted to show folks what exactly goes into a pre-assembled kit and if the stuff is useful. Thanks so much for commenting!

Not an impressive kit! There are a lot of 'gimmicks', and several areas it falls short. One example: There are no provisions for water. A mettle case with no padding could have been used to help with that. Thanks for your review though!

Fair enough! That's my overall sentiment as well. Some of the individual items are okay, and the rest are gadgets to play with.

For people just learning to hike or whatever this would be a good kit. I don’t agree with parts of it and use my own but the thought of safty is good for moral of something does go wrong. Truth my go to is a USA MRE and some solid fuel with a multi tool. But again that costs more than as you mentioned a young person

buckle the bracelet on the flat side of your wrist (underside)

It's just that the two ends of the bracelet don't come together (either lining up or clasping) easily. Crazy thing :) cheers,!

Them calling that thing a survival kit is kinda misleading. It's more like a "fiddle around camp kit." Out of that kit, I might use the blanket in an actual kit. My problem with the weak little flashlights in survival kits is that most people don't check on the batteries for their backup gear and by the time they need it, that light that was "bright enough" when they tested it is dim as crap, especially if anyone near them has a real flashlight that their eyes keep adjusting to. Also, while I do like the compactness of those little saw wires, in practice I've never been anywhere yet where it wouldn't have been faster to just gather a bunch of smaller sticks.
Edit: Now that I think about it, that little saw would probably be more useful for cutting down a few branches or small tress to build a temporary shelter with than it is for firewood.

I think you're mostly right. The kit is meant to attract a novice or a kid more than a serious outdoors type. I'll be doing a follow-up video asking what you guys put in your kit! Thanks for commenting!
