@Robert Smith different era lol and just not the same. they're both great, but they're kind of mimmicks of the greats of the era that Tony is a part of.
A Master Class in NY Sarcasm. "Let's get really "unplugged". "Can we turn off all the microphones? Thanks..." Then, Maestro Bennett proceeds to draw upon US musical history, from the 1940's through his present, to belt out one of the most poignant of renditions of "Fly Me to the Moon".
Many, many, many years ago, my mother would sing this song when she sang in nightclubs along the Florida coast line. I was just a teenager back then, am now 70 years old, and I now wonder what her dreams must have been when she started singing in nightclubs. I am sure she thought she might one day make it "big"..., but she never did. she was an excellent singer, sand in some of the swankiest places when we lived in Cocoa Beach during the "space" years. But, she got hooked up with an alcoholic piano player, who could play the piano wonderfully when he wasn't drunk, but he was drunk 99.99% of the time. I'm sorry she never "made it big".... RIP Mother. Hope to see you again because I miss you...
This commment is so well writting that, listening to this song right now, I can feel the atmosphere in those nightclubs and imagine the piano player. Hope you see your mama and what an insteresting life to hear must have you live.
Singers NEVER die. I'm a non-professional singer too. My Dad made a working living at singing in the early days (1950's-early 90's) , and I chose a different profession to make a living. We are ALL important, as was your Mom. We bring/brought joy to many in our small circles, and that cannot mean nothing. The fact that we are inspired by greats doesn't make us less than...
So well stated! A voice so belongs with the angels. Mr. Bennett is and has been always a gentleman. A great man is what he wanted to be remembered of...And that's precisely what he was! A Great Man!!
This is my all-time favorite song performance, of any singer, of any genre. This will always be my #1! Tony’s voice was a gift from God and he never took that for granted. He was classy but not stuffy, always remembering his roots. He was a gentleman but no pushover. He was kind and generous, but knew where to draw the line and how to protect his privacy. He never acted the fool. Every celebrity should take a lesson from Tony Bennett.
He always seemed younger than he was. Even though I knew he wouldn’t be around forever, hearing that he passed hit me harder than I expected. His version of Fly Me to the Moon has always been my favorite.
Unbelievable at his old age he hasn't gotten rusty at all still a cool cat with one hell of a sexy and cool voice we don't hear much stuff like that anymore. I miss this type of music. Keep on singing Tony. I'll never get tired of that voice and music. :)
May you Rest In Gods Eternal Peace. Your music will live on forever and ever. What a sad day. So many beautiful memories of all your songs. Will live on in our hearts forevermore.
RIP to a benchmark by which excellence is judged. You left your heart in San Francisco and now such a hole in an ever growing vacuous industry. Sleep well Tony, you've done all you can x ♥
This weekend the Only one Legendary Tony Bennet die ! All my life love this man ! I always want to see him in concert but I never have the money but I have all you LP !! RIP my dear Tony Bennet 🙏💕
He is such a show off!!! And I love it!!! When you’ve got this level of talent, it would be a sin not to showcase it!!! Mr. Bennett, thanks for sharing your gift with us!!! ☮️🖖🏽
Rest in peace, Tony. One of the all-time greats. One of a kind.
Just makes one feel good. thanks tony
He's the last his kind. Sure, there are great ones out there... but when he's gone, it will truly be the end of an era.
that's so true
This hits hard rn knowing he has dementia .... :(
I couldn't agree more with you. It's life I think. But it hurts so bad...
Exactly. Man sometimes I feel so bad by being born so late.

Jesus Christ! Tony Bennett is absolutely stunning.
I thought I read somewhere a quote by Sinatra saying Bennett was the absolute best.
frank sinatra said Tony was the best in the business
I saw him do this 4 times in Concert. The power in filling a concert hall with no amplification was humbling to hear.
The fact that he has such a powerful voice at his age its so impressive, its literally breathtaking. This performance is top tear.
it was like he was still at his peak at mid to late 60's.
I agree, but this was recorded in 1994.
I saw Tony perform this acapella mic-less version live in 2014 when he was 86….even more powerful in person
@@MrElevatormusic99Nevertheless, he was 66, what a voice...
Even his short bit of this song with lady gaga was amazing range
이런걸 보면서 느끼는건 유튜브에 감사함을 느낌...
