My first time ever getting off of a train in Lichfield. I spent just under an hour filming some of the action on the low level West Coast Mainline platforms, as well as a few shots from the upper level, end of the Cross City route.
Managed to catch some interesting footage actually, a Freight lead by GBRf 66785 coming round the curve on the freight only line from Burton. Also caught a Pendolino operating a test train. It was a training run for managers operating as Train Managers ahead of proposed strike action by Avanti.
So there's a good selection of fast passing Pendolino's, as well as London North Western 350's and West Midlands Railway 323's. As well as two Freightliner 66's. 584 heads south and 66957 heading north.

Interesting that the 323s on this video have 2 sets of 3 coaches coupled together. On the Stoke to Manchester stopping service (my local line), they only have one set of 3 coaches.
They only couple two sets together during the day when there's hardly any passengers about. During the rush hour, it's only one set of three cars. Interesting logic... but there's more services during the rush hour.
That must be an awkward move coming off the Burton line onto the down slow, having to cross all four tracks

Do you also get woken up from the horn off the high level services (Cross City Line) all the time? I moved to a house there some years ago, left after a week - much as I love trains, the constant horn right next to the house was unbearable.
@@LittleKitty22 I've lived there all my life, a 4 line railway next to my garden. My step-Dad has the keys to the railway. I don't get disturbed anymore because I've lived there 12 years.
