I really admire that even though you deal with people like FirstEnviro, you can still be honest about the weak areas of this pack (and there are most certainly weak areas). It's not exactly the budget end of OMSI payware at £16.99, and I did expect that the B7 sounds would have been improved. I'm disappointed he was impatient and released the B7 with these sounds. He should have aimed higher. The ZF 'woosh' noise sounds fancy, but is just not accurate for this B7. Keep doing what you're doing Joe - great job.

Joe, I completely understand with what you said. Purchased it yesterday and was having so many problems with both B7TL and B9TL. Should have been released on 7th of January or 10th of January. Everything will get ironed out in due course and potentially this new bus pack could be amazing 👏 🤩 so there is always hope if we just keep believe in it.
PS.... the little 'rev up' that occurs when you stop, is the gearbox going into 1st. when you stop, the bus stays in 2nd gear for one second, then reverts to 1st. This happens in all ZF gearboxes (including the ZF in my Jaguar S-Type!). However, the sound is almost imperceptable - it's just a quiet blip. RE: the axle sounds, in the sound.cfg, it seems he has linked the axle sound volume to the accelerator value, whereas it should be referenced to the wheelspeed value.
Honestly, I think you're right, Joe. I've driven ex London B7TL Gemini's with ZF gearboxes, and yeah, it seems like you're right. The sounds of the idle are great, but the gearbox whistle is totally wrong.
Ive noticed with the sounds if you add the Hoover to the setvar file the sounds are more realistic and i cant stop driving it lol, and it acts as a classic Gemini being worn out and slow lol.
Well tbh, the engine should be scripted with the fan coming on intermittently when it is hot. Once cooled, it then turns off. Yes there's an option with bus hoovering all time as some b7tls did that.
The fact they patched this the day of release and made the scripts even worse. Such a shame that this was pushed out in such state then a patch makes things worse. Hope it improves in the future updates.
I will never purchase a product based on promised future updates. If you’re spending your money, take the product at face value for the time. If you like it, great. If you’re holding out for improvements, just hold back. With that said, I’ll likely still purchase this product soon. I like it, and if it gets better in time, that’ll be a nice bonus
Can you still click on the Bell Pushes with the Mouse and Set the bell off your-self and Click on the Interior Windows and have them open? I remember a model a few years back where that was 2 features that stood out to me been able to Open and Close the Passengers Windows and Been able to Ring the Bell.
@@DCI_Mage It is a very high quality bus, but the sounds need improving as does the scripting. It shouldn't have been released in this state, no matter how good the models are.
Hey Joe, happy new year for a start..... Now I 100% agree with what you're saying about the Gemini pack. Looking at youtube videos and Discord on opinions from other people, I'm not in my current position to purchase the bus. The volvo B7TL is my favourite bus out of the 2, and is typical that it's not up to standard. As you know, I'm currently preserving 32695, YJ06 XLN. It has a different dashboard, different steering wheel, and 4 windows to open downstairs instead of 6. The YJ05s should have a pull down cab screen, 3 windows each side and it doesn't. The doors should bang more and sounds sorting.... Engine sounds are naff, very disappointed. The engine should when warm/hot fan to come on intermittently too. Plus, idle shutdown should be enabled, and it should very much be derated, i.e., sluggish pulling away. Not sure if panic alarm is enabled either and the cb radio works? I know you went to record sounds at Elmwood garage to put onto the game, so am surprised it's not been sorted. It's little things make it very worth the pack. Anyhow, just wait til it's fully up to standard, then I will consider purchasing it. Kind regards, Luke
Have you tried the Hoover on it yet? I changed the setvar on the first Olympia repaint and it does take away alot of the disappointment. Especially if you're used to a Roaring B7TL.
If you put the Visual_StuckHoover Setvar to the B7TL Olympia Livery it sounds really good. Also as far as IRL goes, I'm honestly surprised you ain't preserving a B7TL or B9TL Gemini as some of the B9s are starting to become Withdrawn.
I used to drive the last of the arriva london B7TLs (VLW171-199) i feel the model itself is amazing yes theres issues but nothing an update cant sort. The sounds at idle very good but driving ok its not 100% accurate but again an update can resolve. Adding the hoover setvar does drastically improve the sound experience but overall a great pack including the B9 and it is reasonable for the price.
Both buses are great drives. Probably go as far as saying the best in omsi. Sounds on both have good bits and bad bits and some other flaws but them things can be worked on. BUT There still great buses and a perfect welcome to omsi I love them even if not perfect I love them
Tbh I think the only let down is that the setvars are locked to the certain spec and wish it was more like the choices like we have on the ms gen 3 and veiling
Fantastic Video Joe the ALX400 With the ZF Sound mod sounds much nicer Than This what is a shame as this was very anticipated bus but i started to wonder as no one had previewed the B7TL At all just the B9 I hope in the coming weeks and months it can be sorted i am sure FE will fix it on the other hand its a lovely bus to drive apart from the sounds Happy New Year Too!! And to add what bugs me is the looping Axel sound between 30MPH-50MPH i know this could be so much better i been on thousands of B7TL'S so its annoying when you no how they sound I Hope he fixes it 🤞

Yes exactly this. Wondered as to why no previews were shown for the B7TL. Kind of makes it worse when you think about it. Releasing a payware product when you know it isn't complete is shady to me.
15:30 one thing i will say coming from experience with my own gemini, I find my one quite torky and it’ll break 50mph easily,the axels will scream like that maybe not as loud but very close🤣🤣
this product is clearly very rushed. not only are the sounds really bad, the dash computer is simulated so poorly, a lot of the menus arent clickable or arent fully simulated. even freeware have nearly a 1:1 simulation of the dash computer, meanwhile they are charging 16.99 for doing less work than freeware developers 😂😂

The thing is they were asking for feedback on the discord and their not the friendliness type of people either but their taking it way too personal with issues being raised lol (if you charge for a product do expect some feedback) great value for money but the team isn't very constructive but for value for money it ain't too bad. But the server does need to be a bit less vulgar.
The main reason why the B7TL seems a bit rushed is because of a certain group of idiots on the BP Discord constantly asking for a release of it. So it wasn't FE's fault. Trust me I know, I'm in it myself and I witnessed the Chaos unfold with the impatient idiots.
I mean it seems *pretty* reasonable to complain about quality issues if there are areas that freeware is doing better than a model you're paying a relatively big amount for as UK bus mods go, I can't say I've tried the Gemini in Omsi myself (and whether I'll even get it I'm not really sure) but based purely on what I've watched it's definitely a bit iffy in places.
Great video Joe but I do believe you are being a bit mean in terms of only looking of the negatives as they have done a great job and I believe that you dragged the negatives along as there is a lot of positives than negatives.

Overall, I'd say the B9TL still needs major improvements on sounds and scripting as it kicks down far too easily and the axle sounds become noticeable around about 5th when they should start earlier. All in all, not bad for £16.99, two quality buses but maybe it has been rushed out.
Well, it's his opinion, I very much agree with him too. Its rushed, I didn't expect such a release just yet of the bus and they've had a lot of time producing it.

The little Idle Rev is normal on a B7TL, even the Euro 4 06/07 Plates did it. It's standard for a Typical ZF B7
ZF are my favorite gearbox so I love the 04/05 eclipse 1 and the renown end of production version. 😂
The mmc has the same issue too where the sounds are louder in the cab than the back, on the Scania that is anyway

Having driven both B7 and B9 Wright Gemini. I feel the B7 isn't up to scratch but overall, it's nice to have the Wright Gemini in OMSI

The gemi 1 is a good bus Leeds still have them and Halifax as well you should drive the Gemini 2 with the Gemini 1 front end Joe
