I work as an engineer in a lead and zinc underground mine in Serbia. For example, we use a hand operated drill for the face. Explosives are placed manually, and activated from a hundred meters away. Our loaders and haul trucks break down on regular basis. After watching this video, I think working in an environment such as this is a dream job. This type of operation is on a whole new level. I enjoyed watching this.

Thank you for the insightful video! I’m trying to get a layman’s idea of how mining works on Earth for a project I’m doing on what asteroid mining might be like one day. This is an excellent presentation to lightly introduce me to the main ideas. I also watched the animated one before this. I’m so intrigued by all the socioeconomic possibilities of industrializing in space.
