Cameron, I love how your style allows you to ask a question and let Peter think about his answer and then let him talk. He's the guest, and you show no ego. Dont change pal, you got something good here. Bravo.
Cameron you gotta listen to Peter more...His views on Lewis to Ferrari are spot on!...Our man has 7/8 titles under his belt and moving to a team which will give him back his drive in the sport. Plus yes a fast team mate but someone whom is willing to learn from each others performance. wise for the betterment of the team.
Peter is just a gem to hear and you Cameron are such an amazing host and leaving your guest give all his opinions with great questions! He reminds me of an Adrian Newey ! I digress 🔥🔥🏁🇬🇧🇬🇧🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️🙏🏻 35:53
100% in agreement with management being Alpine’s issue. I don’t care if it’s a law firm, construction company or race team. Your management team better be the best or it doesn’t matter what your employees (drivers) do
He has a problem with the Ego that comes with the title. Both Lewis and George have voiced the problems with the car. Yet he holds the foot down in the concept under the scope of "they know what they are doing". Three years later, Car is still a rollercoaster on the straight and is horrible in the tyres.
28:31 spot on by Windsor. Charles drives like Max. Relative early braking to get on throttle early and short corner. Think that's also why Charles has issues with this car as it seems to be a more stable platform where Charles and Max prefer something on a complete knifes edge. Oscar has that as well. The rest of the grid to some extent is braking late. Lewis does a good short corner, but not through early braking like Charles. That's why you see guys like Charles do well at those technical circuits. On Imola for example, Ferrari only looked somewhat good because of a proper race from Charles. Because on the long straight they were in F1.2 for their lack of top speed.
@@Cameron-Cc A few long streams back, Windsor took photos of real short corner experts and showed them in the stream. Windsor probably knows what I'm talking about (think it was Monaco Rascasse, last year). You might want to get a hold of that footage because it was brilliant visualization of which driver does what. It spot on explains why Oscar and Charles will do well on a circuit like that, just like Max.
Anyone in F1 that doesn't have a plan for being competitive in 2026 doesn't really have any intention of competing. They're just there to collect their rent from the closed shop franchise system.
If Ocon signed to Audi then thats a major misstep by Sainz. I always felt Sainz shuffling his feet would work against him. Audi was publicly courting and wanting him to be their first signing. Im sure that initial luster has diminished somewhat.
If they did then they'd be subjected to feeding into whatever narrative the network is pushing. They are both top notch, I get what you're saying. Here they're free to be unbiased and cover whatever they want to discuss
We love these 2 specifically because they DON'T work for Sky and they're willing to say what isn't being said ask the questions that would not be asked and have the conversations that wouldn't normally take place on a Sky channel That a bad idea @Jbob2331 🤷🏾♂️
People are erroneously assessing Lewis' speed based on 2022 and 2024 - this is a mistake. Think about what happened in 2021 and how good Lewis was, only to be completely demoralized with W13 when he was expecting to be fighting for a WDC. Ditto 2024, Lewis checked out when he decided to move to Ferrari, so given the issues with the car and where he is in his career, his performance is no surprise. If we get a competitive Ferrari in 2025 and Lewis is on his game Leclerc will NOT beat Lewis and his trashing of George in 2023 is a good indicator, given that George is no better a driver in 2024 than he was in 2023.
On the Merc/Lewis quali point. It’s not preferential treatment. George has always been fast in quali. Always. He’s got incredible one-lap pace like Charles does. So him doing better than Lewis doesn’t surprise me too much tbh.
It was the Portuguese grand prix 1991. I can see why you said Hungary because Nigel lost a wheel nut during the 1987 Hungarian race. Awesome episode though gents thank you.
I don't think lewis has the one lap pace anymore to beat leclec but over a season in a strong ferrari I think lewis will make less mistakes and will most likely out point him.
@CameronF1. I will add to that though I think lewis is just going through the motions at the momment as he knows this merc is a dud. How ever. A fresh lewis in a fresh team is extremely exciting and I can't wait for it!
Thanks again Peter, wonderful insight and evaluations but I must disagree with your determination that Charles will beat Lewis in a title fight because the average person doesn’t realize the desire & drive Lewis has to win an eighth title because of his results in the last couple of years with bad cars!✅
If there are 20 or 24 staring spots on the grid, then the fastest 24 cars should be racing, 2 cars per team and could be 15 teams. No guaranteed spots, with prize money being paid out for qualifying position and finishing position.
Jack Doohans progression last year was amazing, Zero to Hero. It would be great to see his dad, Mick Doohan in the pit lane. A bit of a better person than Jos Verstappen. Mick Schumacher bought Jack Doohan his first go-cart. So guessing Jack and Mick Jr have known each other since they were young ?
Williams lost the plot when in their wisdom decided to dispense with Damon Hill at the end of 1996. There are not too many wdc who are stunning development and test drivers. Both Mansell and prost benefitted greatly from Hills hard labour. The ramifications is still visible to this very day.
F1 needs to take a look at what it has done to NASCAR, which has faltered to the point that some of the teams that were once most successful are collapsing with their once-precious franchises.
Prize money for F1 Constructors championship is 45% of season revenue. I don't care how much merchandise Peter saids Perez sells, if he cost them a Constructors championship RB loses a massive amount of money. That cannot be a reason to resign him for 2 years.
I’m sorry but pretending Lewis with a desperation to win an 8th title is going to think about anyone but himself going into the first corner is delusional. Peter in my opinion has distorted bias in certain areas. The only reason Lewis will not be a nightmare at Ferrari is if Lewis qualifies down the grid as he does now and isn’t able due to his age and losing the edge to be a threat to a young Leclerc at the front. Lewis isn’t there to babysit Leclerc and if they end up at the front it’ll be Ocon and Gasly part 2. 😂😂
Agreed. Yeah this was weird, it's like Peter has no reason for why Mercedes is not improving or he just doesn't want to say given the cost cap and cyclical nature of this sport, this slump was bound to happen, so he's just making up stuff. It doesn't make sense, saying someone is too good at their job and that is why they are not succeeding is an oxymoron. If Toto was so good at management and people he would have sorted out all the people at Abu Dhabi 2021 and managed to get Lewis his eight.
Totally, also if Toto is so good at his job that they are losing was he just shit when Merc was winning? Peter's opinion are just becoming more and more objectionable
@@waterfrontandfalls Just some examples, he thought the monaco GP was absolutely amazing (WHAT!? it was 75 laps of tyre management), Ocon isn't too blame and ofcourse HE knew it would happen. Peter likes too hear his own voice too much, it's pathetic at some point.

@@Cameron-Cc It's a quote from Capt Hook, in the movie 'Hook'... a sardonic way of addressing the oversight.. my comment remains valid, Mr Walker stands alone.
I’m glad you said fear. That’s the head of the nail right there. It’s crazy how scared they are of Andretti. True competitors would openly welcome them. Bunch of complaining wimps some races. I hate the constant complaining about other teams! I hope Horner isn’t one of the ones that is opposed to a REAL American team. He would lose some of my respect.
Why fund a new competitor like Andretti who’ll make it all about them? Everyone knows Audi can’t win immediately; that reality doesn’t seem to exist at Andretti who believe they can staff from Indianapolis while telling people Williams and Haas aren’t American-affiliated teams, playing some strange nationalist game with themselves! Mario still has an Italian accent!?! It’s insane how their delusion has them grasping…I disagree completely with Peter on this. They continue to proceed on the wrong foot, with the wrong attitude and tone and not a whisper of exhibiting any positive spirit. So very disappointing their effort is, the sooner they stop the better.
Like Lewis en Newey.... you mean Peter? 2 dinosaurs who won't leave the formule 1! Who may now jointly undermine 2 young and talented drivers at Ferrari.? I mean if Adrian makes the choice, everything will be done to help Lewis win that title, we don't have to be secretive about that! It sounds quite naive, even stupid, to say that Lewis is now about having fun because he is already so mature ?And what you say about Toto applies to every team and manager, you are as good as your car, that is no secret! without Toto and his team Mercedes, your hero would never have existed in Formula 1! It seems as if the Lewis Hamilton fans are starting to feel loose and overconfident again. Their hero's transition is getting closer and so is the hope that their hero and his star will rise again:-)
George is the current version of Ham2007 desperate to succeed and make his mark he must therefore be given some slack to be the agitator he is and has been wherever he goes!

What about a rule that states if you come in last in the constructors for 3 years in a row, you're forced to sell the team to a new owner.
Andretti not being allowed to join the grid is a complete disgrace. It makes f1 less interesting.
Team principals are so pathetic !
It only show clearly what F1 is about, self enrichment, period.
