I agree with Rudy that Cynthia leaving isn't going to change anything. I think WotC has a culture problem in the company. Until the culture is fixed, the brand will continue to suffer.
I've been saying that very same thing forever (it seems). Also, culture is a top down kind of thing. Hopefully Chris Cocks won't be too far behind her out the door. I did notice that there are 3 new board members (announced a month ago). Perhaps they're hoping to address the culture problem which would help resolve some problems for all stakeholders.

Definitely a culture problem, WotC is still partnered with Sweet Baby Inc. which means that the activists are still running the ship. All the employees that truly love the game got pushed out or fired.
As far as Hasbro hiring Cynthia with no Magic knowledge, I see the same in a lot of businesses nowadays. They don't want to promote within. Same at my own employer, and the damage done by people who don't know the business can have long term effects.

I play since 1999, same thing. I am no longer buying or looking for new expansions. There are new cards every month. I just play all legacy decks now, and if new cards arrive in my format, i consider buying them. But i need them? No. I enjoy them? Neither. Because in some months there will be tons of other cards.

I remember when magic cards used to be collectable and I would dump crazy amounts of my discriminatory budget into these cards. They did what they did and now I only buy the singles I want for decks. I will never go back to believing these cards have value

I really don’t want to be sexist, but I’ve commented here for 2 or 3 years that there seemed to be a spiteful energy at WotC, that had it in for people like Rudy, and other collectors, and seemed to be driving their decisions to completely undermine anyone with an established position in Magic cards, and I kind of thought it might someone of the female persuasion, or someone with with niche politics.
I’d be very interested to know if this lady was even a fan of Magic, or if she was just a loud person who had used politics rather than work to make it to the top.
I hate myself for thinking this, but now I’ve seen behind the curtain, the wizard is exactly how I pictured her.

From 2016 there seemed to be this vibe of people who want to innovate, do things differently and work against anything that had been established for the sake of change and bringing down the patriarchy. Except these changes were only virtue signalling and not related to what actually works. The fact they thought of messing with the Reserved List and the whole way it came to be, shows you how much they were trying to implement this rebranded image of changed/edgy "new magic"...

The fix is very simple.Take down reserve list. Print og dual land on a standard set on common slot. Profit.
If they weren't pushing so many releases, they could have had less products go so bad. They essentially had no time to adjust since they have to print so far in advance

Its funny because Karlov Manor actual card quality is very good, good foiling, solid feel to them (aside from the invisible ink, I think they could've made them more special). The actual set isn't that bad. Good land cycle, etc. The only downfall is the play ability. Even Vein Ripper, he's a fantastic card but the 6 cost to drop something that's just going to get nuked off the board is meh. If they had real card designers do the texts they would make much better sets. Thunder Junction, another prime example of these cards look like dog shit and the abilities and casting costs are good. It's amazing they can't just do both nowadays. Also pricing is soooo out of wack. Who the hell is going to drop, 2, 3, 4 hundred on a box they get 100-200$ value back. As a collector terrible, as a player, just buy singles. It's a lose lose. Re-printing the same garbage over and over because you have 0 ideas also adds into this.
