@Ted Babinger - Wish you speedy recovery from the surgery. I still love this crossbow. Took 3 deer with it last year. Nice light and quiet. Thanks for the comments!
Awesome video I bought my bow for the same reason you did have the exact same issues that you did with that. Thank you for all the tips on how to fix it.
Thanks Jim Bear. There is one other thing I finally did that will help you out as well. The plastic part you put on the string when you cock, not sure what that part is called, but where it rests on the stock it can make noise if you bump it. I lined it with moleskin where it rests against the stock and that has helped a good bit with that noise factor. I have taken 9 deer with mine so far and it has been flawless.
Hello. Literally just bought one of these and it was off down and to the right. Every Shot. The bow shop had to readjust the scope and then I was free handed nailing bullseye. It’s got me excited for day 1. Thanks for your video That ACU Draw is amazing!
JP 55 - Sweet! Yea that advertisement that it is on at 20 out of the box didn't work so well for me neither. I still love mine. I have 3 deer on my property that I want to take and season started last week, but I just ordered a dedicated camcorder for filming and waiting on that to arrive before I go after them. Hopefully next week I start on them. Congrats on the new crossbow!
Great review. My son and I just bought the Wicked Ridge Rampage 360 and the Invader X4 just two weeks ago from Cabelas. We have done our initial review on them. I did a separate review for my Invader X4 and I just uploaded his review of the Rampage 360. So far we are really impressed! I know your video is a year old but I like see other peoples thoughts. I have sub’d to your channel.
I’m taking a serious look at purchasing one of the M-370s and I appreciate very much your down-to-earth, no nonsense review! I assume you’re still happy with it?
Greg - I am in SC and we have a VERY long archery season - Sept 15th - Jan 1st. I used the M-370 about 70% of the time I was hunting my property. Used it in a variety of stands, hang ons, climbers and ladders and ground setups. I used it a lot and hauled it up and down trees a lot. I also used it for a solid week hunting in OH. At the end of the season I had harvested 3 deer with it. It is still in just as good as condition as it was when I bought it. I am very happy with my M-370 and if I were going to purchase a crossbow today I would still choose the same one at that price point.
Yes sir excellent video very helpful did have 1 question, if sighting in on the ground did it affect shots once in the stand , appreciate any and all info on that
Great review, I have been looking at this crossbow for same reason, torn rotator cuff. When I looked at it in store it felt great. My shoulder struggled to hold other steady as long.
Thanks Rosie. I had my surgery about a month ago and I am able to shoot already with a rest. Still in therapy but I should be good in a few more months. I still love this crossbow. Good luck to you.
So on the crank, in the mode I was using where it makes a lot of noise, it is flipping over gears where it catches. That is why it is making the noise. You can stop in the middle of cranking without any worries. You can flip a lever which disables the gear catch, but you need to crank all the way with that setting. With that setting it cranks silently. That is how I always crank it. It is not a heavy crank so it is not difficult to do. As far as the fire/safety switch, it is not the quietest, but I have figured out how to work it slow enough to keep it quiet. I have taken 11 deer with this, all at close range so I can't complain. It has been an excellent crossbow for me. Thanks for watching!
Nice video, and honest review. I'm looking to upgrade from my Barnett Jackal, and the Wicked Ridge M370 is at the top of my list. Being made in the USA by Ten Point is a selling point, but honestly it was the lightest advertised crossbow weight that is why I'm leaning towards this one. And the price is fair compared to so many other Ten Point options in the $1,000 and up price range. Good luck on the Ohio hunt .
Ron thank you man. So at this point, I have used the Wicked Ridge M370 the entire season both in SC and OH. I hunted a lot this season. Archery in SC starts Sept 15th and the season goes all the way to Jan 1st. I also did a week in OH with this. All of my OH trip I used this and probably 70% of the time in SC I used this as my primary weapon. I harvested 3 does with this M370 this season. All of the shots hit their mark and none of the deer went further than 50 yards with one of them only going about 10-15 yards. I have to say after using it all season that I am definitely very pleased with my purchase and would not hesitate to purchase it again.
I bought the same X-bow, yes, I had to fine tune it but I did so on a table and rest and fiddled with the speed ring. Once all was dialed in, it hasn’t failed me at all. Enjoy!!
@@stevenbabb2958 Wow I didn't realize your season was that long up there. We have a super long season in SC too. In the upstate where I am it starts Sept 15th and goes through Jan 1st, but in the lower part of the state it opens Aug 15th for buck only until Sept 15th. That is just too freaking hot for me! Nice job on your harvests so far! Good luck the rest of the season!
I bought one a few months ago. It is deadly accurate. 3 shot 1” groups with fletching touching at 20 yards. Be careful cause you will bust your nocks and arrows.
Yea I love mine. In fact, just shot my second buck this season with it a few hours ago! I think I got it all on film but too tired to review it now. Yea man with crossbows you don't want to be shooting groups for sure. You will start busting bolts real fast.
i just purchased this bow yesterday, is there any tips or hints you can give me? It's my first bow ever. I've only rifle hunted in the past. So all this archery stuff is all new to me.
Awesome! Yea I recently posted a video with 6 tips for folks new to hunting with crossbows. You can check it out here: th-cam.com/video/JKvtfYpmMiE/w-d-xo.html
I'm just starting in crossbow myself just got it I watch a lot of videos and seems like a lot of people start with 30 yr pin and they say that makes it good for the rest of your yardages like I said I'm new to just watching videos just thought I'd mention it good luck
Yes a lot of folks go with that option. Typically when you do that the 20 and under range will be slightly high, but well within the kill zone. I typically set up for 15 to 20 yard shots just as I always have from years of compound bow hunting so that is why I stuck to the 20 mark. But yes the 30 yard mark works for a lot of folks, especially on faster crossbows. Good luck to you with your new crossbow!
Scott - someone else recommended sighting it in to 30 yards as well. At 20 it seems like it starts getting low at 40 and 50 so I am going to give that a try as well. Yes it is a fantastic crossbow.
Great review. I didn't care for that specific bow but I really like the way you broke it down. I would not have purchased this bow had I seen this earlier.
Thank you man. I appreciate it. I am not sponsored or beholden to anyone so I just try to lay out the facts of my experience with it. Having said that, it has been amazing for me as I have taken 8 deer with this crossbow since I have had it and it is still holding up great.
@@BooneDownSouth Oh, please don't mistake me, I think it's a fantastic bow for some but wasn't what I thought it was. I replaced it with the TenPoint RDX 400. Little heavier but Arrow stabilizer is a brush not a metal clip thing and it's easily adjusted. There are other things that I liked as well.
@@agulot1 Oh yea no worries. The RDX 400 is a nice bow. I have thought about replacing the metal clip with the brush but just never got around to it. ;)
Thanks Brandon! I am an Amazon Affiliate but everything I review is stuff that I bought with my money for my personal use so I try to be accurate with all my reviews. Having said all that, honestly I still really like this crossbow. I took 2 more deer with it this season already and hope to take another one. If you look at my last few videos you can find the two videos I put on on taking those bucks. Honestly you don't even need to upgrade the scope or bolts unless you just really want to.
Great review! ! I also own M-370, and NXT 400, & a Tenpoint NXT Shadow!!! Also a Darton RC compund, before my injury! !! One thing, is the scope, about 4 clicks to move it an inch. That's at 100yds. At 20 yards you have to move it 16-18 clicks to move it an inch. MOA stuff from my sniper days. Just wanted to put it past you, like i said great, honest review! Keep it going!!
John, Thank you! I'm still loving my M-370. Thanks for the reminder. I always seem to forget about that aspect of them being rated at 100 yards. Thank you for your service!
Great review. I just bought one a week ago, haven't shot it yet. Bought it for the same reasons you stated. Compact, lightweight and price point was a big factor and best of all a Ten point product. Best comment you made was that the speed is not the most important factor but shot placement.
Gary man I hope you got it when Bass Pro had it on sale for $500. My dad had an old Horton and it was huge, and not so accurate and probably 15 years old or so. I convinced him to get a new one and saw Bass Pro had had the M-370 on sale for $500 so we picked him up a new one last week too! This will be my 4th season with it and it has held up great. Best of luck to you!
Oh man that's a bummer. I didn't fall off a roof but I have been there where I couldn't draw my bow due to shoulder issues. I still am very happy with this purchase. Hunting with it now!
Thank you @Michael Hawkins! Yea that was sweet getting that Doe the day after I bought the crossbow. Ended up taking two more does with last year as well. All quick clean kills with the deer not going more than 40 yards.
Yep I did swap this out since this video was made but to me the biggest game changer wasn't the speed dial, but having an illuminated reticle. Just amazing for that first half hour and last half hour of light. Thanks for the comments!
I bought a m370 last season because of shoulder injury also. I added the rubber noise dampening kit which made a huge difference in noise and accuracy. The trigger is not the best but ok. My son killed his first mature buck last season with it and now says that it's his crossbow. Looking to buy another m370!
So I ended up never super gluing it as it was never the issue I anticipated it being and to this date I have taken 11 deer with this crossbow. I think this video is the Oh hunt. It was not an Ohio monster by any means, but I was happy. th-cam.com/video/u5hsNN8dhto/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the great video. Looking to buy my first crossbow and have been looking at the M-370 for my first bow. So what was the main problem when buying this bow. looking for experience wisdom.
@Max Friedenberger - So the only real problem I had was that they advertise this crossbow to be sighted in at 20 yards when you get it. Mine was so far off I broke the first bolt that I shot out of it. This could have been related to how it was setup at Cabela's as I have heard others say that their M-370 was accurate out of the box. So you may not run into that issue. Aside from that issue, I would not hesitate to buy it again. I am very happy with my Wicked Ridge M-370!
So one thing to keep in mind. When I purchased it was 799. Right now the M-370 is $499 at Bass Pro. That price point might change things for you or it might not but I thought I would let you know.
So I have used it for the last 4 seasons and did a follow up review video just a few weeks ago you can see here: th-cam.com/video/_1PcBvzrXQY/w-d-xo.html So the jist of it is that this thing has been great, and some of the things I thought might be issues were not. I have killed 11 deer with this crossbow. All pass throughs and all quick kills. The problem though is this model was just discontinued. The good news is that Wicked Ridge came out with another model called the Commander M1. The Commander M1 from how it looks and the specs, looks like it is the new and improved M-370.
Thanks for this great review. You look like a cool man. Few things I would like to know. I hunt moose in Canada, do you think it is suitable for that ? What would be the external diameter of the scope because the seller here do not have the scope cover. Can you fix a strap to carry the crossbow? Thanks again.
John Doe - The Wicked Ridge M-370 is rated 118 Foot Pounds of kinetic energy when using their aluminum XX75 arrow at 435 grains. I've never hunted a game animal that big, but from what i have googled as far as what would be recommended for moose with good shot placement I think you will be fine. The scope rings are 7/8" and here is a link to the strap I use: Wicked Ridge Neoprene Sling: amzn.to/34JF3AZ
Man, my brother in-law bought this thing and it had a catastrophic failure after 5 shots. The accudraw housing broke away from the plastic stock fasteners and pushed out of the side of the stock. I was shocked that could even happen. Lucky no one was hurt or killed. He returned it and bought a Barnett.
Dude that's awful man. Glad no one got hurt. Must have not been assembled from the factory properly or it was a defect. In that case I would have been leary about buying another one as well. Fortunately mine has been rock solid, this will be season 4 for me on it.
It’s zeroed shooting standing flat on the ground. You are elevated a few feet above that. So that may be the reason it’s shooting higher than it should. Outstanding video though. Very good to actually see an honest review.
Thanks for the comments. The zero from from the ground would only be slightly different at 20 yards even I was 20 ft up a tree. as in probably less than 1/2". For whatever reason it was just massively off. Could have been the setup that was done at Cabelas. I just don't know. Whatever the reason, it is dead on now ;)
Finally a non sponsored review. Great run through mate. Cheers from NZ. Would you buy again? The lightest bow right now is the carbon version of x16 by gearhead but that's a very expensive one and it's large mostly for tall guys
@ChurchInAshes - Thanks for the good words. Yes I would definitely buy it again. I am very happy with it. I bought this right at the beginning of our season. Where I am we have a loooonnnngggg season. Sept 15th - Jan 1st. I also hunt quite a bit. I used this for a solid week when I went on an out of state hunt and then at home during that long season I used it about 75% of the time I hunted. So I am making my claim after putting it through its paces for the entire season. I harvested 3 deer with it this season and they all went down quickly. After using it all season the bolt retainer that I mentioned in the video turned out to be a non issue. Best of luck to you man!
I have a mission mxb 320 and it came out the box dead center at 20 yards you might want to check it out if it's not doing what it claims I would take it back
Yea I have heard of others crossbows that out of the box are dead on. I actually just sighted it in and its been a great crossbow. Used it for the last years and have taken 8 deer with it so far. All quick clean kills. Other than not being sighted in out of the box, its a great crossbow.
So they claim with the factory bolt with a 100 gr tip, it should be leaving the crossbow at 370fps. I don't have a way to test the speed with it, but I can say last week I killed my 12th deer with this crossbow!
The trigger pull feels good to me, I don't feel much creep in it. Does not appear to be any wear on the stock. In the past two seasons I have taken 3 deer each season with the M-370 and it has performed well for me. It was actually the only weapon I used last season and plan on doing the same with it this year.
Sean I thought I responded right after you posted this but I see my reply is not here. Anyway, I think that is a good tip. I am going to try it, but I'm about to leave to Ohio with it and everything is tuned pretty good, and even though 40 and 50 are low.. I know where they are so I'm not gonna touch the setup until I get back from Ohio. Thanks for that info!
I too have a hurt shoulder and been a diehard compound archer for 27 years. Been debating that m370 vs barnett ts380. Stuck between the two but havent had a chance to shoot neither
I have not tried the barnett ts380 but I do like the M-370 a lot. I have been using it pretty regularly the last few weeks. The accudraw is fantastic. Easy to cock in the stand and does not require much effort.
I emailed ten point to see if there replacement bolt retaining brush can replace the arrow retaining spring... I know I saw videos this week where alot of guys are using them to replace the springs with the brushes. Allegedly alot quieter and more consistent
@Check Parson - They recommend firing a bolt instead of decocking. I leave a target and a bolt with a field point next to it. When I come in I just put that bolt in and fire at the target. Hindsight that is a really good routine too. My buddy just got a new Ravin R10 which you can decock. So while we were hunting in Ohio this year he was decocking and I was firing my bolt. By firing my bolt each time, I know that it is on. He bumped his scope on the trip but since he wasn't firing to decock his crossbow he didn't know it was way off. He found out when he missed the big buck that came out on him mid way through our hunt. I learned at that point that there is an advantage to firing a bolt instead of just decocking.
Well here are my thoughts and this is just my opinion. Can you target shoot this thing accurate to 80 yards? - yes you can. Unless you are hunting over an open field I don't recommend anyone attempting taking an animal at that range. I spent most of my life bowhunting and one practice I have always done after a morning hunt, was to pick a spot on the ground - a leaf or something at some random distance and take a shot from my treestand. What I have found is that in a wooded environment, once you get past 40 yards or so there could be vines, twigs, etc.. that you just can't see. I learned that over years of taking these real world practice shots. Every now and then an arrow deflects and I am like what the heck. How did I miss by a foot? And then I would get down and look back from the arrow on the ground and see the vine or twig that I couldn't make out from my treestand view. That foot difference from the deflection could have been a clean miss or a bad wound shot. So although one can shoot a crossbow accurately at 80 yards does not mean one should sometimes. Again, these are my personal thoughts on the matter so personally I typically don't shoot past 40 yards in the woods. Having said that, the way I hunt, most of my animals are taken under 20 yards.
I just bought the wicked ridge raider decock 400. They dont come sighted in from factory. There bore sighted. They shoot them make sure everything is ok. The person buying the xbow. Has to sighted in themselve's.
So yes it is front heavy if you put a fulcrum at center of length it will lean forward, but if you move the fulcrum about an inch forward of center it will balance. So it is not overly front heavy by any means.
You can turn the clicker off - that is what I do. So with the clicker on it engages the lock mechanism as you turn it so if your hand slips off the handle of the acu draw the string stays cocked to that point. When you turn it off - the noise goes away but you need to make sure you don't let your hand slip, cause if you do the string is going forward and going to spin that handle really fast. On this model I think the pull weight is only 5 lbs so as long as you stay focused during the draw cycle it's no problem.
I am shooting 100 grain. Have from the start. I use the Rage 2 bladed NC hypodermic 2" cut broadheads in 100 grain. Since I have had this I have killed 6 deer with this setup and they don't go far. Looking to get #7 hopefully in the next few days ;)
I went to look at the M-370 and was shocked to here that the trigger box and the scope base are plastic. I really like TenPoint crossbows and that crossbow is light but aluminum parts would add nothing in weight but would up the quality of the crossbow.
Yea but it is the same material that is used throughout the whole body of the crossbow. It is still pretty solid. I have hunted here at home with it and took two deer with it here and then went to Ohio with it and took another deer with it up there last year so it has stood up pretty well to be toted all over the place. I don't have any qualms about it. Plus it is quiet. Hopefully I will be taking another deer with it soon.
@@BooneDownSouth After correspondence with TenPoint I was advised they are not plastic but glass filled nylon which is much more durable. With that I would NOT be concerned.
@@rickcervini3894 Wow. This is my 3rd year with the M-370 and I have taken 6 deer with it so far and countless other shots and I really don't show much sign of string wear. I keep the rail lubed. If you don't want the string riding the rail check out the Ravin R-10. I did a review and comparison between the M-370 and the R-10 here: th-cam.com/video/lWWRAG_WewI/w-d-xo.html The Ravin R-10 is a different price point though.
Any cocking rope users? I bought the cheaper one without the acudraw. I can't cock it to save my life. I'm going to return it unless wicked ridge has some advice for me. I also wonder if I missed a step.
@@BooneDownSouth thanks for this. I was pulling my hair out and literally hurt myself trying to cock it with the sled rope. I don't want the accudraw that comes with it. It's makes noise, so I ordered the accudraw pro for the tenpoint titan I ordered. I'll be sending this one, M370, to Tenpoint to see if it's me or the bow. I followed the assembly instructions and even watched a video on assembly so I'm thinking something is wrong with it. I can get it 2/3 of the way up the rail before it's just impossible to get any further. I'm 5'7" 220 lbs so I'm not a small guy. We'll see what happens, but if tenpoint can figure it out I'm just going to keep both bows. They're financed for 18 mo so I'm not worried and my son WI be able to use one in about 3 years. The M370 should be a nice starter bow for him to use. It's disappointing and I hope it's not me, I'm fairly fastidious and thorough but I'm also human. Maybe I missed something but not likely. Thanks again!
@@BooneDownSouth also if I were to use the accudraw that came on my invader,I'd need to fabricate a crossmember to attach it to. No way that will fit in a stock that's designed for a crank system .
@Max - So yea maybe something is wrong with your setup and they can figure it out. If you end up with two with one for your son that's not a bad deal either. As far as the factory accudraw on the M-370 it can be silent. There is a locking gear when you crank it so that the noise you hear is the lever flipping over each gear and as you turn the handle. This way if you stop cranking or let go the lever locks it in that position. If you flip the switch to the position you would put it in after you cock it, that removes the lever from the action. If you just keep the switch in that position it will crank silently. You just can't let go or stop because nothing is holding the gear in a locked position as you crank. So either crank it until it is cocked or back it down all the way before you take your hand off the crank. This is how I do it and it works great and it doesn't make a noise.
Paul.. oooh that's a tough one. So #1 I REALLY like my Wicked Ridge M-370 and if money was an issue, I would absolutely go with the Wicked Ridge M-370. I just don't think the extra features warrant almost a 1/3 more in price. Okay but having said that, your question was if money was no issue. The are two things that I really like about the Ravin R10 - the compact form factor and the integrated cocking system. It is one of the cleanest integrated cocking systems I have seen. The other features are not that important to me. I have shot a compound bow for 35 years and have never been a speed freak. I am all about making sure I hit the target where I want. If you do that, you don't need a lot of speed. People harvest deer every year with traditional archery equipment that only shoots maybe 190 fps. The Ravin R10 has more kinetic energy than the Wicked Ridge, but at these levels its just not that big of an issue. Last season I killed 3 deer with my M-370 and have killed two bucks this year so far.. and the season ain't over ;) There are two things I don't like about the R10 - the safety switch and the difficulty in removing the quiver. The quiver is kind of a big thing for me too, cause I always take it off when on stand, and I think that would bother me over time with the R10. I guess for me it's a tough call. I think the only thing I personally would gain with the R10 is the more seamless integrated cocking system, not to say anything is wrong with the M-370, but the R10 definitely wins on that point. The thing is, I REALLY like my Wicked Ridge M-370, and this year I haven't even picked up a rifle, been hunting with it exclusively. So I am kind of biased here too I suppose. I guess I am unsure what I would do if money was not an issue and those were the only two choices. I am somewhat biased to my Wicked Ridge and that is the best I can tell you. Now buddy would tell you to go with the R10.
My M-370 has arrived I haven’t shot it yet I don’t have a target yet and for mr here in Michigan I feel the need to have the lighted scope for my eyesight. I found one on eBay and it’s coming I’ll use that opportunity to work on the tension bar another thanks to you for bringing that issue out. There should be another fastener on that bar depending on one isn’t practical not exactly sure what I’m going to do yet but it has to fixed. If yours loosens up down the road there are TH-cam videos on different ways to add things to super glue to make it even stronger baking soda is one but it really speeds up the cure time. The ideal way is with scope and the mount rail removed drill and tap for a second fastener and lock tight them in. I’ve got a late start and much to do but am excited for the season opener on 10/01/21 on private land. This my third T/Point crossbow but so far has cost less than the stealth my last one is lighter and 40 FPS faster it’s just a pain getting everything all together again. Thanks again for your videos. Tom R in Michigan
Hey Tom. Congrats on your new new M-370. I bet you are dying to shoot that thing! So I will tell you this from what others have told me is that when you set up a new scope on it you know you normally sight in at 20 yards, but I have had a few folks tell me that they got better results by sighting in at 30 yards instead. I haven't tried that but it was suggested to me cause my 50 yard starts to drop some. Thanks for the info on that tension bar. Ya know it really just ended up not being a big deal but I think I am going to go ahead and take it all off and get it done this week and then try re-sighting at 30 to see if that helps. Good luck on your season!
IMO, Don't buy it. I had one for two seasons and the string started fraying after about 10 shots, got through bow season and had the string replaced. The next season a plastic cam bushing /sleeve broke on the the right limb after a few practice shots before the season and the string kept jumping off of the cam. The bow was out of warranty no help from Ten Point. Bow shop said they would need to send it back to the factory to have it "evaluated" and it would need another string for $450- $550 to fix it. I paid $700 new, so basically it is a disposable crossbow. However, when I did get it sighted it was very accurate and I did kill a couple of hogs with it the first season that I was able to use it. I would pass on buying another Wicked Ridge.
Oh man. Sounds like you got a bum deal there. I am on my 5th season shooting mine and my dad is on his second season. And actually my accudraw string got frayed and I called TenPoint (this was like year 3 btw) and they send me a accudraw string replacement set for free. If I had your experience I would definitely feel different about it.
I am partial to the Wicked Ridge M-370. The CenterPoint Amp 425 is a solid crossbow for sure, but I prefer the integrated accudraw for cocking on the M-370. You really can't go wrong with either though. See if you can put your hands on both models and see what you prefer.
You can draw it silently. What you give up with the clicker is the safety function and the ability to draw it part way and stop. When I am in the woods I always do it silently.
Compound bows are over rated. At 43 yrs of age bow hunting since 13 I honestly prefer a dang cross bow. It's just a better tool. And that 370 ain't no bitch great choice.
Chad it is really a preference thing. There is no doubt more challenge in a compound bow and that is what I used to enjoy, until I had shoulder surgeries. The criteria one uses to determine their success will dictate what tool they use. If your criteria is upping your odds to get that kill, then absolutely the crossbow is a better tool. A lot less stuff to go wrong than with a compound bow. A compound bow has a lot more movement involved and easier chances of getting busted for sure. The crossbow is just flat out more accurate, better range and just way easier once you get older and your shoulders aren't as good as they used to be. But nevertheless I used to enjoy the challenge aspect of compound shooting. However, now that I have been shooting a crossbow for a few years I have had a lot of satisfaction using that as well. In fact, I have not picked up my rifle in the last 2 years and have preferred to just stick with my crossbow through gun season. So far I am up to 8 kills with this M370 and if the Lord is willing I will have one more before the season is over. Best of luck to you.
So its only loud when you have the safety switch on. That safety switch activates a lever that engages the gear as you crank it. With it on, what you hear is that lever flipping over each gear. With it on, you can crank and stop and let go and it will keep it in place, however far you cranked it. When I am hunting though, I turn it off. With it off, there is no safety catch if your hand slips off the crank in this case, but it is silent. I just take my time with it and make sure I have a solid grip on it when cranking. I have done this for the last two seasons and it works great. In fact, last season it was the only weapon I hunted with.
Nope at 20 yards at that speed there is just not that much difference in the trajectory. I was not very elevated when shooting so it was really negligible. It was just bad off.
No, I didn't jeopardize anything. I knew were I would be hunting the next morning I only had a very close 10 yard shot and I knew that would be no problem with the setup. I don't take risky shots on game. The goal is always to have excellent shot placement where the animal is dispatched quickly.
I bought an M-370 yesterday And I already love it.
@fish man - That awesome man. I still love mine too! It's a fantastic crossbow.
Good job my friend. Recovering from rotator cuff surgery, I need a crank, love the bow this is the one I’ll purchase. Great review !!
@Ted Babinger - Wish you speedy recovery from the surgery. I still love this crossbow. Took 3 deer with it last year. Nice light and quiet. Thanks for the comments!
Great review man. Appreciate the realness of it.
I appreciate it man! Thank you!
Thanks for your video
That ACU Draw is amazing!
@@BooneDownSouth Goodluck.
Awesome man. I'll have to check it out!
Do you like the CenterPoint Amp 425 better than the Wicked Ridge Commander M1?
Thanks Boone, I think I’ll take the plunge when I can find one in stock, pretty scarce right now. Take care my friend!
Good deal.. Best of luck to you!
I love mine
Yes sir excellent video very helpful did have 1 question, if sighting in on the ground did it affect shots once in the stand , appreciate any and all info on that
There can be a slight difference depending on how you go but it will most likely be negligent out to 30 yards from 20ft up.
Glad you pointed out the loud safety. I think that aspect is over looked on every review
Enjoy!!
Yea I have been very happy with this crossbow. The first week of archery season I took my 12th deer with this crossbow!
@@BooneDownSouth great job!! So far I got a doe and an 8 point; LONG season until December 14 here in Maine. Stay safe, shoot straight!
You can check it out here:
th-cam.com/video/JKvtfYpmMiE/w-d-xo.html
Got mine in january. Sited it in at 30 on second tick. can hit a quarter at 50! fantastic xbow!!!
I have thought about replacing the metal clip with the brush but just never got around to it. ;)
Great video, 7 weeks ago ordered the Rampage 360 and still waiting
Thank you Danny. Yea it seems like a ton of stuff is out of stock and on back order now. Good luck to you!
I'm looking at the same crossbow. I may upgrade the scope and bolts though. It's nice seeing an honest review from someone who's not being sponsored
Thanks! I just purchased same and noticed the same issues....Scope twisting and retainer clip. Great review! Thanks, stay safe!
Awesome. Once you get past that this is great crossbow. I was just shooting mine last night getting it ready for my daughter to shoot one with it!
@@BooneDownSouth best of luck to your daughter!
Hey man you still liking this crossbow? They have them on sale and im considering picking one up.
Yea man. This crossbow has been solid! I saw the lastest price at I think $399. Hard to beat that price point for what you get.
Eyeing this one and found this. Fell off roof so I'm nursing a broken elbow and can't draw my bow this year.
Oh man that's a bummer. I didn't fall off a roof but I have been there where I couldn't draw my bow due to shoulder issues. I still am very happy with this purchase. Hunting with it now!
Excellent unbiased review that was in depth. Convinced me to make the switch. Plus nice Doe for meat in the freezer...Thanks again....peace....Hawk
Thank you @Michael Hawkins! Yea that was sweet getting that Doe the day after I bought the crossbow. Ended up taking two more does with last year as well. All quick clean kills with the deer not going more than 40 yards.
Change your scope to a speed dial scope and you'll love it for accuracy. I changed mine and from 20 to 50 is dead on, great review
Yep I did swap this out since this video was made but to me the biggest game changer wasn't the speed dial, but having an illuminated reticle. Just amazing for that first half hour and last half hour of light. Thanks for the comments!
i feel your pain on broken bolts dude, day one with my wicked ridge i broke 2. After some sighting in everything went smoothly though.
Yea after that it has been great. This is my 4th season with the Wicked Ridge M-370 and a few days ago I took my 10th deer with it. It's still rockin!
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦. Cool video and great review.
Thanks Scott!
Great un-biased review. Thanks for sharing.
@geetarman58 - Thanks for the comments man! Glad you liked it.
I bought a m370 last season because of shoulder injury also. I added the rubber noise dampening kit which made a huge difference in noise and accuracy. The trigger is not the best but ok. My son killed his first mature buck last season with it and now says that it's his crossbow. Looking to buy another m370!
Yea that is how that seems to work with kids eh? That is fantastic that he got his first mature buck with it. That will keep him hooked for sure.
Did the super glue trick work ,and how did the ohio trip go ,thanks for posting
So I ended up never super gluing it as it was never the issue I anticipated it being and to this date I have taken 11 deer with this crossbow. I think this video is the Oh hunt. It was not an Ohio monster by any means, but I was happy.

@@chuckydubree1925 You bet! Best of luck to you this season!
@@BooneDownSouth thanks for your honest answer.........
Thanks for your review, i will pass on this purchase and just cough up the extra money and buy the tenpoint viper.
So one thing to keep in mind. When I purchased it was 799. Right now the M-370 is $499 at Bass Pro. That price point might change things for you or it might not but I thought I would let you know.
@@BooneDownSouth thanks for your reply,, its going for $799 here in Canada but if I can get a deal then yes, price is a big factor.
After 3 yrs of owning the WR M370, is it still holding up??
The scope rings are 7/8" and here is a link to the strap I use:

@@BooneDownSouth Thank you sir. Very appreciated.
Great review. Appreciate it.
Thank you sir!
Hello great video. Im in kinards Lauren's county south Carolina to. What part are you in.
Thanks man! I am in the bottom part of Greenville County so not too far away.
@@BooneDownSouth yep im 45 mins from Greenville
What's that brown device you rested your cbow on after the deer killing part?
Daniel - That is a Caldwell shooting rest that I have had for years. Here is a link to the current model on Amazon: amzn.to/3t0CLZg
where did you hit her? 15 yrds is a great and easy distance to walk from your stand!
I think that one was double lunged. It makes it nice when its that close!
How fast do the bolts go with the stock bolts with the package? (I assume 400 gr including 100 gr tip)?
So they claim with the factory bolt with a 100 gr tip, it should be leaving the crossbow at 370fps. I don't have a way to test the speed with it, but I can say last week I killed my 12th deer with this crossbow!
@@BooneDownSouth Thank you. I went ahead and took the plunge on one-- the $399 refurbished combo on Tenpoint's web site. Seems like a fantastic value.
How’s the trigger on that WR M-370. I’d heard it was kinda mushy. But I’ve also heard that it’s crisp. What are your thoughts?
Ron, my trigger is crisp. I like the feel of it. A little stronger than I prefer but it is crisp.
Mine has some creep but ok. Better than some others I shot but not great
Nothing about the trigger pull or creep?...and any string wear on that synthetic stock?
The trigger pull feels good to me, I don't feel much creep in it. Does not appear to be any wear on the stock. In the past two seasons I have taken 3 deer each season with the M-370 and it has performed well for me. It was actually the only weapon I used last season and plan on doing the same with it this year.
Awesome review!
Thanks Joe!

Let me know what they say if you don't mind. I am interested in that as well. Thanks!
I definitely will.
@@michaeldouglas1243 what did they say
i buy one and i change the scope for a Tact 100 Excalibur ... do you think is a good move?
I don't think it is a bad move, but I am still using the stock scope with mine and last week I just shot my 7th deer with it.
If you don't take a shot, how difficult is it to de-cock the bow ?
Scope is 1/2MOA adjustments. 8 clicks for 1" @ 25 Yds
Yep that is correct!
What’s the effective range; could a guy shoot accurate to 80 yards?
Great review! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I just bought the wicked ridge raider decock 400. They dont come sighted in from factory. There bore sighted. They shoot them make sure everything is ok. The person buying the xbow. Has to sighted in themselve's.
Yep - regardless of what they say, mine was not even close to being sighted in when I got it.
How’s the balance? Is it front heavy?
So yes it is front heavy if you put a fulcrum at center of length it will lean forward, but if you move the fulcrum about an inch forward of center it will balance. So it is not overly front heavy by any means.
If you have to take a second shot, I'd be worried about that loud clicking noise of the acu draw.
@@BooneDownSouth Good to know thank you! It looks like the new acu draw is silent and doesnt spin out of control if you slip.
Yes it is pretty quiet. I have taken 2 deer with it since I got it earlier this season. I am hoping for 1 more ;)
do they recommend 100 grain tips or 125 for this bow?
@@chuckbert3117 Excellent. Yea it seems pretty solid so that makes sense.
Does your string ride on the rail?
Yes it does.
@@BooneDownSouth
I went through 3 strings in a year due to fraying
@@rickcervini3894 Wow. This is my 3rd year with the M-370 and I have taken 6 deer with it so far and countless other shots and I really don't show much sign of string wear. I keep the rail lubed. If you don't want the string riding the rail check out the Ravin R-10. I did a review and comparison between the M-370 and the R-10 here: th-cam.com/video/lWWRAG_WewI/w-d-xo.html
The Ravin R-10 is a different price point though.
Any cocking rope users? I bought the cheaper one without the acudraw. I can't cock it to save my life. I'm going to return it unless wicked ridge has some advice for me. I also wonder if I missed a step.
Max, can you retro add the accudraw to your crossbow. I think it would be well worth it man.
If you had to buy a crossbow over again money no issue would you buy a Ravin R10 or your wicked ridge
Paul.. oooh that's a tough one.
Would you buy it all over again if you had to?
Yep I wouldn’t t hesitate. Took 3 deer with it this past season. All clean quick kills. I like the weight and feel of it and it shoots great.
Congrats on the deer,
Why thank you Sir!
Great video. Subbed.
Awesome, thank you!
If it missed high that means it's too fast get av heavier bolt
The thing is that it is advertised to be sighted in at 20 yards with the bolts provided right out of the box.
IMO, Don't buy it. I had one for two seasons and the string started fraying after about 10 shots, got through bow season and had the string replaced. The next season a plastic cam bushing
/sleeve broke on the the right limb after a few practice shots before the season and the string kept jumping off of the cam.
I meant the Wicked Ridge M-370
I am partial to the Wicked Ridge M-370. The CenterPoint Amp 425 is a solid crossbow for sure, but I prefer the integrated accudraw for cocking on the M-370. You really can't go wrong with either though. See if you can put your hands on both models and see what you prefer.
You shoot high when your high😂
That Accu-draw is loud.
You can draw it silently. What you give up with the clicker is the safety function and the ability to draw it part way and stop. When I am in the woods I always do it silently.
@@BooneDownSouth Thanks!
4clicks to an inch at a 100yrds, you need more like 20 clicks to an inch at 20yrds.
True!
How is the trigger on the m370??
Michael it is advertised to have a 3.5 lb trigger pull. It feels good to me and a lot better than my Dad's 10 year old Barnett crossbow.
Is it a good crisp trigger with no creep?
4 clicks for 1" @ 100 yards? If so, 20 clicks to move 1" at 20 yards
Yep, I believe that is correct.
That accudraw is LOUD omg that is crazy loud i dont think i like that at all
So its only loud when you have the safety switch on.
@@BooneDownSouth So with this Accudraw, you can't de-cock the crossbow?
Typically there tour furniture that ufutu utilities tutu more information Shevchenko dydhdheyeyeyeyey❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Probably dead on at level shooting not elevated
Nope at 20 yards at that speed there is just not that much difference in the trajectory. I was not very elevated when shooting so it was really negligible. It was just bad off.
Disappointing that you prioritized a real-life shoot over your "fine-tuning." Risky decision.
No, I didn't jeopardize anything. I knew were I would be hunting the next morning I only had a very close 10 yard shot and I knew that would be no problem with the setup. I don't take risky shots on game. The goal is always to have excellent shot placement where the animal is dispatched quickly.
