How I felt when Espeon was rated B Tier. I thought it would at least match Umbreon in A tier. Espeon is an S tier for me. Just love the elegant look of it. I also like Scizor over Scyther. It's always interesting to see what people look for in Pokemon though. There's always a Pokemon for someone.
People are sleeping on Quagsire. It was the first water/ground type, having immunity to electric attacks and only ONE weakness (grass); you could easily get around its weakness by teaching it an ice type move. Not to mention Quagsire can be really solid defensively. Also it's cute as fuck.
As someone who relates to Snubbull on a spiritual level, and lives to be a cranky brat, I agree that Granbull's design is lacking the same spark that my beautiful girl has.
I would have said a knock-off Disney character, but same basic idea. It looks like if you were designing a Duck Tales villain but weren't quite done with him yet
It's ironic how kingdra looks less like a dragon than seadra. Seadra has two fins (like wings), spikes on its back, prominent belly scales, and a long tail. Kingdra removes all of those dragon-like aspects for some reason. I still think it looks decent but seadra is vastly superior to me.

To quote Bulbapedia: "There are two dark stripes on its back that resembles the barrel of a revolver. It has a single pelvic fin positioned like a revolver's trigger, two small pectoral fins, and a dorsal fin near its mouth resembling a gun's front sight. In addition, it has two caudal fins, the bottom of which resembling the butt of a gun and the top resembling the hammer." As for Octillery, the resemblance is less pronounced, but the mouth is definitely reminiscent of an artillery turret, especially considering that an actual octopus' mouth is on its underside, in the center of its tentacles, and is a beak, not a hole.
Yeah but I agree with ProZD Raikou just funny looking and all over the place. When I first played Silver and I saw Raikou encouter it was just meh. Entei is robust design, and regal looking. Suicuine has that sleek, cool, majestic design. Ofc IMO.

I really liked Xatu. I wish it was a better Pokémon, but I used it anyway. That, and Furret. Gen 2 had very low choices early game, and it was harder to get attached to the newer ones

Yeah I liked the movie too even if it was kinda ok, but what really made me Celebi biased was Explorers (Time/Darkness/Sky.) Went from a rare mythical character that was “just there” to a well-rounded character oozing with personality, especially considering what was left to the player’s imagination on what Grovyle, Celebi, and the trainer’s experiences were like before the events that led to the start of the game.

Feraligatr used to look much meaner and more intimidating and cool. The art you're looking at is updated official art, not the original Sugimori watercolors. I guess it's as valid as the originals since these are what the Pokemon look like now so that's what you're stuck with, but the style has definitely changed and certain Pokemon (like Feraligatr) have really suffered from the transition.

First gym is bird, which shreks you. Second is bug, which also shreks you. Third is goddamn whitney who shreks everyone. Fourth is the ghost gym that exclusively has ghost/poison types in only the gastly line, meaning they shrek grass. Hardest starter pick for sure.
Consider, though... Falkner and Bugsy are rough, sure, but you've got plenty of chances to get something to counter them, especially with Geodudes being in abundance. Then you've got Whitney, but Bayleef gets _Reflect_, which makes it automatically the best starter for taking them on. Morty is genuinely rough, but then when things open up afterwards, Bayleef/Meganium gets at worst neutral damage on the aces of every other gym leader. Chuck? Poliwrath isn't going to want to take anything from Bayleef, and Reflect will wall up against his Focus Punches. Bayleef also gets Magical Leaf, which completely shuts down his Double Team strategy. Jasmine? If you haven't got something to get past Magnemites then that's on you, but Steelix's Ground typing eliminates its resistance to Grass. Pryce? His entire team is weak to Grass. Next. Clair? Meganium is the _only_ starter that can hit her Kingdra for neutral with its STAB, and you get Frenzy Plant in Blackthorn. Chikorita might struggle a bit in the early game, but it tears the rest of Johto a new one.
Fun fact about sudowoodo: the reason he pretends to be a tree despite being a rock type is to hide his weakness to water. I think that clever fact alone is enough to make hom s tier, not to mention how good his design is.
Ho-oh's original artwork was an S tier. The redesign in heart-gold and soul-silver stripped it of all personality. Its tail used so spread out like a peacock 's and it used to have those wild, insane eyes. Before it looked like a mad Phoenix. Now it just looks like a partially gold turkey.
I ran into a wild Skarmory the first time I got Gold as a kid. I was so amazed and thought I ran into a wild Legendary. So I threw my Masterball at it and was so hype! Then I immediately ran into another one for my next encounter. But I already saved the game after I caught the first one. I was so mad lol.

Yeah I liked the movie too even if it was kinda ok, but what really made me Celebi biased was Explorers (Time/Darkness/Sky.) Went from a rare mythical character that was “just there” to a well-rounded character oozing with personality, especially considering what was left to the player’s imagination on what Grovyle, Celebi, and the trainer’s experiences were like before the events that led to the start of the game.

AS A MATTER OF FACT, your memory isn't failing you. Feraligatr used to look much meaner and more intimidating and cool. The art you're looking at is updated official art, not the original Sugimori watercolors. I guess it's as valid as the originals since these are what the Pokemon look like now so that's what you're stuck with, but the style has definitely changed and certain Pokemon (like Feraligatr) have really suffered from the transition.
I think gen 1 is so replayable for me simply because I love the art style of the sprites so much more than gen 3 and onward.

People would like the Chickorita line more if Johto wasn't so unfair to it.
First gym is bird, which shreks you. Second is bug, which also shreks you. Third is goddamn whitney who shreks everyone. Fourth is the ghost gym that exclusively has ghost/poison types in only the gastly line, meaning they shrek grass. Hardest starter pick for sure.
Consider, though...
Falkner and Bugsy are rough, sure, but you've got plenty of chances to get something to counter them, especially with Geodudes being in abundance.
Then you've got Whitney, but Bayleef gets _Reflect_, which makes it automatically the best starter for taking them on.
Morty is genuinely rough, but then when things open up afterwards, Bayleef/Meganium gets at worst neutral damage on the aces of every other gym leader.
Chuck? Poliwrath isn't going to want to take anything from Bayleef, and Reflect will wall up against his Focus Punches. Bayleef also gets Magical Leaf, which completely shuts down his Double Team strategy.
Jasmine? If you haven't got something to get past Magnemites then that's on you, but Steelix's Ground typing eliminates its resistance to Grass.
Pryce? His entire team is weak to Grass. Next.
Clair? Meganium is the _only_ starter that can hit her Kingdra for neutral with its STAB, and you get Frenzy Plant in Blackthorn.
Chikorita might struggle a bit in the early game, but it tears the rest of Johto a new one.

Ho-oh's original artwork was an S tier. The redesign in heart-gold and soul-silver stripped it of all personality. Its tail used so spread out like a peacock 's and it used to have those wild, insane eyes. Before it looked like a mad Phoenix. Now it just looks like a partially gold turkey.
