If anyone wants to give him shit about hurting his hands on gatorade, I used to work at Gatorade and when we would get a bad batch I would have to open hundreds of bottles a night and would wear holes in thick rubber gloves in an hour.

I did some digging, and found out that Glacier Freeze gatorade is suppose to be orange/strawberry/cranberry with dash of concentrated sour for that weird kick that it always has.
It's like liquified blue warheads with less sour.

I know exactly how that "strawberry" tastes. It's nowhere near an actual strawberry but every strawberry thing tastes exactly like that.
Same thing with every other artificial flavor, in fact most of them are not even in the same class of chemical as the original flavanoids
A lot of them like methyl anthranilate, aka grape flavor, are used in plastic
Most of the time they use an artificial essence that is out of a strawberry sort that doesnt exist anymore
Therefore the taste you have is indeed the berry, but not the berry we know
(It is in the database and they use suplements to meet exactly that flavour that is extinct)
Like for apples there were like 1000x more types of apples than today.. they just extincted as they were not as profitable so the big companies abandomned them

Depressing fact: when I was 20 years old, I had a friend that truly believed and tried to convince me that all Gatorade is the same flavor and it's just the color that tricks our minds into thinking they taste different

Thats actually largely true. There are a few different basic flavours, which they mix to create flavours that sorta taste like maybe food, and then they add colouring which we associate with flavour to finish the trick.
Also its not some crazy belief or conspiracy theory, its been lab tested many many times and is just a well known fact. Companies like Gatorade dont even deny it, and they actively research to improve the effect.

The reason the lemon lime Gatorade flavor is so unique is bc it was the first flavor. The drink was created by the Florida gators (hence the name) and drank by the football team with the only flavor being what was later called lemon lime once it became the company Gatorade

Usually sugary things are replaced with Sucralose which is sweeter than sugar. But it’s like... a different kind of sweetness that gives sugar free and low sugar things that iconic taste, especially in drinks.

I have so many bad memories of being stomach sick and drinking the fruit punch Gatorade... twice.
Ive had to give baby chicks very small amounts of gatorade with water. I personally love gatorade but those chicks hated it. For anyone wondering, i used gatorade to give them electrolytes since i didnt have any other item that could give them electrolytes that was safe. It prevents a disease called star gazing that kills chicks due to lack of electrolytes.

I really enjoy your Let's Try series, I'm glad you did one on drinks! As someone who can't eat dairy/egg, it was cool to see a ranking video where all the items are things I can try. :)
