Just started up my third Satisfactory playthrough after taking a couple of months away from the game. Your earlier videos were a big part of how I started making builds that weren't just floating platforms. I think you might have even been the one who taught me about factory blueprint modules even! So I'm looking forwards to seeing what new tips and tricks I can pick up from you this time.
This was very well done and awesome to see, I haven't been playing long and you made it seem so much less intimidating to do cool builds like this. I'm all open air factory right now but I am looking to rework it soon! Please make more like this with other build options for different building types!!
Good explanation. Personally what i feel is missing the most from all building tips videos, is the part where one makes decisions based off of other factors. The big picture stuff, which you did mention at one point in this video. As an avid builder, i know these are the things that are hard to explain. But theyre also the foundation of what your build is going to look like, what your personal style is. Maybe it could be a cool idea to show different elements seperately (think different amounts of depth, colour, detail) and help people think of building in more of a jigsaw puzzle way, instead of a blank canvas. You decide on most of the pieces beforehand based on some references, then you create a puzzle piece ingame which youre happy with, repeat, put the pieces together, and eventually you finish your self made jigsaw puzzle
Some of the previous HTD videos go over the Macro design process, like how to get ideas, build order, some general rules for height and size, things like that. But I would love to try and incorporate more of that you are talking about here into future videos! I do appreciate the feedback as always!
Loved the video and pace. Subscribed. I definitely need to start making walls out of foundations. Seems really good, and it's another tool to make my factories different from one another. Next one will probably be made like that. Thanks for the awesome video! Cheers!
Haha. Im doing exactly the same in my playthrough. Started fast, unlocked everything I needed to build nice, I mass dismantled everything and started from scratch doing cool builds. I don't even know what space elevator parts im supposed to be doing. No hub and no space elevator for a really long time now.
I just started phase 3, looking for my first oil field, and enjoyed the video, as it has given me some good ideas. All my factories are still on just one level, and I want to try multi-level building next. I do have a few questions though: 1. When do you suggest starting to recreate factories? 2. How do you build and build and never have to get more materials? Do you just edit that part out or is there something that I skipped along my journey? I have a feeling this has something to do with dimensional depots, but I have not unlocked that yet. Last question: How long can you make the conveyer belts? I have ore very far apart and I have been manually going back and forth to fill containers to create steel because my coal is so far away from anything else. If I could automate steel production, that would really be helpful. Feel free to point me to any other video that helps explain this stuff, if I am just not at the level I need to be for advanced design.
This "How To Design" series is done on a creative world so I can make these videos faster! Everything on the 1.0 save is done 100% default survival! The depots are a huge help with building in survival, and I have mine maxed on my save! Saves a ton of time when building! making more detailed, dense designs does drive up the material cost. So, when I'm building, there will be times where a certain material is lacking, so i would go make more of that item!
What i usually do is just to build without a roof and walls . After i've built a factory, i bulid the frame walls around it . Looks really cool in the dune desert, like if the open design helps to cool the machines
When I build big box factories (and I do) it doesn't mean I'm noob. It just means it's a waste of time to build all the flare with the provided 3D objects we get in version 1.0. There's nothing wrong with the creative approach of adding hundreds directions, angles and stacks and colors to the existing objects. What I don't personally like is working hard, when I can work smarter. Coffee Stain Studios hasn't done enough to provide the shapes and objects that leverage my time and energy to make factories look like real factories. So, they look like boxes instead.
The nice thing is that there is no right way to play the game. You can be as creative as you want to be, but if production is your main goal, no need to make things pretty, just efficient.
@@jammur6917 This is absolutely correct. Play how you want. If efficiency is your priority, good on ya. If architecture and building design are more interesting, do that instead. There is no “correct” way to play
I think building boxes is very acceptable if you don’t really care, but I personally think that if it’s gonna be something permanent or something I’m probably never gonna tear down, I think I should make it part of the world, instead of just making it look like it’s a temporary building.
It is a factory game. You build factories, not architecture. My factories intentionally look very technical and rational. I want to see the machines work. It should look dirty and busy, as if I can smell the oil.
I get what youre saying, but his box did not fulfill the basic needs of what he has in mind (for example access to a road in the way he envisions), so it had to go. If you liked it how it was, you could add basic windows and pillars for depth and variation, or play around trying to find some interesting details by yourself. You can keep the starter box, but the shape will always just feel like a box. This is not a bad thing if you like it that way. But it is something that "good" builds tend to avoid since often it doesnt give much to work with and make your own
Yea, that’s something I noticed while editing. Maybe the next build I do for HTD can be strictly a remodel, as I would like to really focus in on that option for some of these videos! I appreciate the feedback!
5 seconds in i am feeling sick. Why are you laying out at 1000 miles an hour - to impress us with your skill? - because I cannot follow what you are doing and I am sick from the fast motion.
Hah i am 50 seconds in, and had no idea you can build miners over foundations. Mind blowing
New veiwer. I've liked your videos so far. Very straight to the point and simple. I liked the full build process in this video.
Make this a series! This is the most in depth, but simple building tutorial on TH-cam. Great job!
New process for making these, and it has already made it much more smooth and easy to get these out! Excited to get back and make these!

Appreciate the feedback! Glad you got some use out of the video! These are always fun to make!
"I want this video to be more about modifying existing factories." (deletes the entire existing factory)
I like the sped up style. Keep it up for this type of video.
Seems like that’s a common theme in the comments here! Will be continuing this for sure! I appreciate the feedback as always!
Bro building a whole ass factory with Mk 6 conveyors.
ADA: Please build the HUB.
Btw, great video.

On stream it was kind of a joke that I was building phase 3 or 4 factories but I “still hadn’t built the hub” 😂😂
Me my cousin and my friend have been playing together recently and we just decided to start paving the entire planet in concrete
I dont think the ficsit corporation would appreciate a pioneer wasting time and resources on fancy factory buildings
Awesome. I just got done with my storage facility and neesed some fresh ideas on the exterior design!
Hope you get some cool ideas for you builds as these come out!
Great video with even more awesome techniques! Even at 13k hours, this was incredibly helpful! ❤
I appreciate the kind words as always good sir!
Never heard of you, but watching this, man I must say! Holy shit you are insane 😎 well done and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words!
Great vid man!

Yea I’ve made some factories or train stations with the “open air design” style, very fun!
Love this. Will be super helpful
I appreciate the feedback!
I build box factories, but it's cool looking boxes

True but there are many mods that fix this, and it's ok to play with mods, it's fine as long as you enjoy what they offer you
Well, real factories are almost always big boxes

1:22 how did you do this with conveyor belt?
Change the build mode to straight! It will make 90 degree turns! Same way you change to zoop/vertical mode with foundations!
@@KyloBuilds i have been playing this game for weeks and never noticed this, and the worst part, it's written on the screen, i feel dumb.
Do you build your factories on the world grid?
yes!
It is a factory game. You build factories, not architecture. My factories intentionally look very technical and rational. I want to see the machines work. It should look dirty and busy, as if I can smell the oil.
the problem im having is how to get concrete foundations 😭
awesome shop?
Lets start with Zoop by the way! 🤯🤯🤯 Been wasting so much time!!!
I just want to make boxes in a factory.
How are you zooping inverted ramps?!?
I put the first one and then I can zoop the other ones.
Don't ask why this. But it works.
fast mode for sure !! i get impatient lol
Slow everything down in the future? Got it! 😂 I appreciate the feedback!
"Design Like A PRO" 🤣
wait, i couldve been using walls and ceilings this whole time?
1st step: have shitton of free time
Looks great, but I thought you were going to fix the box build. You practically deleted everything and made a complete new build. No change, all new.
I get what youre saying, but his box did not fulfill the basic needs of what he has in mind (for example access to a road in the way he envisions), so it had to go.
