Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’m currently working on a silent trap using fleece’ blanket material.

Thank you for an excellent video. The side-by-side comparison of 'silent' and 'metal' really does show the difference. I will likely try duct seal. My paper targets on a cardboard backing is quite noisy compared to the air rifle itself.

I use an old pair of socks in my metal funnel pellet trap.
    Works a treat.

Used a cloth from a swiffer sweeper, catches all the pellets and does not break

Thank you. I’ve ordered newplast plasticine from eBay here in the UK. Same idea it doesn’t dry out and can be remoulded 😊

You want to try out blu tack that stuff is incredibly resistant to air rifles and only takes around a quarter inch to stop a 12 ft lb air rifle with ease, you can just pull the pellets off afterwards, it's incredibly resistant to being hit and you can buy it at a good number of shops

I use an old polyester pillow doubled over and stuffed into a cardboard box ,total cost is zero and silent in operation , don’t over think it.

Some use "duct seal" for more powerful guns. But Plasticine is great for lower power. When the trap is full of pellets you can heat the Plasticine, and the pellets will fall to the bottom of the pan, the Plasticine can be poured back into the trap.
Ask a plumbers shop if they have clay that is used to fill gaps, and to not harden, that is "duct seal".

Thanks for comment Robert. Yes, I mentioned the duct seal at the end of this video. It is good for stronger airguns. Only in Europe it is veeery expensive (probably because it is produced in US). I couldn't find replacement for duct seal so far. But plasticine is good for me (for 7.5 Joule airguns).

Another method that is very popular on the forums is a box filled with rubber granules. Most seem to build them at home, but they can be bought : www.db-schietsport.nl/en/dbs-eilte-pellet-trap-14x14cm.html

Yeah, duct seal is what I use to keep the sound down in my yard when hitting my backstop.

The other thing I like about this is there is some lead debris that spreads when pellets hit steel. Not much compared to 22 certainly but it's nice indoors for this to be zero. I'm sure nothing escapes this trap.

If you have some left over you can make a Pleistocene horse or a tree,or a mouse, get the idea?

Will EVA foam work stopping pellet or will it deflect it ?
