I use a metal bucket with rolled up towels in it on its side as a pellet trap - silent, resilient, tidy and effective. I wedge paper plates in the towel and draw/stick my targets on them. I suspend the bucket from 3 points inside a brick outhouse at the end of my back yard facing through the doorway towards the house and shoot through the back door from inside thd kitchen. Aswell as paper targets I shoot hung up tins, empty powerlet bottles and specialy made lever targets that set off a party popper when hit - my 14yr old loves it!
Had a funnel target for nearly 20 years its had thousands of pellets through it and its only just starting to give up I’ve been trying to find exactly the same one but with no success it’s 17 and most funnel pellets catchers on Amazon are 14 ..... I use bisley targets
Hi Steve, if you get the Jack Pyke flat back target it will last for 1000's of shots. My one from China lasted as you say, about 500 shots before splitting. Just make sure you don't shoot in the same place all the time.
That is the problem, you tend to shoot in the same places as the targets have the "targets" in the same places. My flat catchers lasted about 2000 shots before even a sub 12 punched through, (perhaps not 500 consistent shots)
Hi Steve, just sold the X R Yukon Photon 6.5 x 50 sight, have upgraded to the RT 4.5 x 4.2 S I seem to have an issue with the focusing side of things. Do you know of any issues with this sight especially in daytime mod. Mick
It has too much light coming in ? Have you got the end reducing light cap on. The plastic bit with the hole in it ? The only problem with Yukon is the low contrast in daytime. Many have said this.
I don't, but you can do that if you have the right fittings on the pellet catcher and stand. Check out my Amazon links for one all complete you can get.

The best jobs are the free and easy jobs. Sounds like you are sorted
Ordered thanks...I naively thought you just stuck your target on a piece of scrap wood....hadn’t taken into account ricochets.....Good to learn!
Glad it helped buddy.
What could I use for quietness in my garden targets that don't make a noise when hit?

Wow, that is good going. Must be made of thicker metal.
Excellent information!!!
thank you
Can’t see you reply mate but I think it’s made of 3 mil steel maybe thicker I have ordered a few more catchers infact 4 new catchers
Ah, that is quite thick and explains why it has lasted.

I recommend dominoes pizza box they have 3 circles on a diagonal for mid low high targets.
hahaha, nice :)
How do you fix the pellet catcher to your light stand? I have 2 light stand tripods and could utilise one for different heights. Thanks

Metal Target holders are OK for 12ft/lbs but you would be surprised at how much damage can be done at 30 or even 50ft/lbs.
Of course, no way for FAC
