- The “incompetence” of Defence Minister Angie Motshekga and the “competence” of impeached Judge John Hlope are trending topics. In this interview, Neil De Beer, the President of the United Independent Movement, warns: “If you don't listen to what your people say, you are going to fall on your own sword. So when the head of the Navy, when the Army and the Air Force are screaming and telling you, we are the people in the command structure, but you don't listen, or you don't have the competency to understand what they are saying to you, then what do you get?” De Beer also analyses the legal battle led by Advocate Dali Mpofu for MKP MP and impeached Judge John Hlope to take up his position on the Judicial Services Commission. “Mr. Pomp and Ceremony, Dali Mpofu, getting up again. Seems like he is now the Legal Mind for the Revolutionary. Their own little advocate, Ché Guevera…And I think this case is a showcase of where we as a country are going to have an outcome if we choose people that have integrity or not.”

Please give us the information about Dali and all his failed cases. The childish way of putting up an argument in favour of his clients must be of big concern for them.
He, too, is a person of very low integrity, as is all of his clients.
That was a total waste of time and resources from the MK Party. Dr. Hlope and Dali should have told them but still they proceed hoping politics will persuade the JSC. Very much incompetent behaviour.
As for the SADF Minister, one of the biggest mistakes to have her on that portfolios. Big, big, big mistake. Get rid of her sooner than later.

Majority of cases Mpofu got involved in since the Zondo days had a racial undertone. Zuma, Makwebane, Hlope and so the list goes on. Either he is so blinded by his hate for white people or he just milking the cash cows as surely, he must know that most of the cases will never succeed in court. I am no legal eagle but can read and can argue with myself looking at the facts and even me as a layman could see he had no facts to present to court. He will for hours waffle trying to confuse Judges so much but fortunately they are sifting through facts and fiction. But time he is pulled before the board for wasting courts time and money.
Surely the fundamentals of being a competent judge is having integrity. Lack of integrity translates to lack of competency

Correct Neil. Competency assumes underlying Integrity. Or otherwise put: One can have Integrity without Competency, but one cannot have Competency without Integrity.

The guy will go and fight a case on the highest court just to have the limelight and the publicity of the courts.

The budgets are cut in most critical departments to accommodate the salaries of the Biggest cabinet with crazy number of Ministers and Deputies. Tax money is spent unnecessarily bcos a certain party needed to occupy majority of positions to stay in power.
It was so pathetic..a shame..and it used to be the best navy in Africa...now the worse..I think Zimbabwe has a better navy and they inland

I didn't know about the naval festival and rode through Simonstown on Saturday....the festival was extremely well attended by the community. Traffic was backed up for many kilometres. I had some fomo.
John Steenhuizen seems somewhat gullible on some things and finds it hard to connect and understand the black population very well. Helen Zille sadly also somehow misses appealing to the average black person. I think the DA has to work extremely hard to fight against the slurs and even false news put out by the press. It's extremely hard for the DA to adequately work effectively with the ANC due to cultural and ideological gaps. However even black middle class citizens of Gauteng are upset at the ousting of Mayor Brink. I've had a couple of cross cultural conversations. I think the problem is simple there are those who benefit from chaos and who feel that their ego and desire for power far expands beyond a desire to serve the people. A cholera outbreak , building fires, violent schools etc fail to make any impression on such men.
