where's has this been? i've been looking at Fender, Gibson, PRS, Earnie Ball, etc., but nothing checks all the boxes like the POLARA Deluxe or this version.
Glad you’re back! Boy, I didn’t know you could look and play so mean - that’s a heck of an intro track, dude! 🤘🏻🎸❤️🔥😎 Who knew Guild could make such a mean guitar!? Crazy!! Thanks for taking care of Trey again, #Sweetwater! Btw, I’m sorry you had to send the PRS back because you really liked it. You gonna get another one to replace it? I can’t even ever remember anyone saying they got an SE with finish issues or any other cosmetic imperfections for that matter. That’s SO unusually rare. Makes me wonder how that could have possibly happened. I’m guessing that the clear coat and/or paint probably didn’t dry correctly and then it eventually led the finish to start bumbling/cracking in a weak spot by some screw holes up at the headstock. Did it arrive that way, or did you start to notice it bubbling up once the guitar started living in the Florida steam bath for a bit? I don’t remember you saying it had this problem. It’s too bad because you really, really liked it.
I appreciate you watching Marsha. That PRS just had too many issues for me and I decided to go with the guild which I’m much happier with so far. I’m not sure if I will ever get another SE based on the experience I had with buying a brand new one. Beyond the cracks in the finish the nut had to be replaced and wouldn’t stay in tune anymore.
Just subscribed to your channel today, and love it! Bro, You are supercool, great personality, humble, and a serious badass on the guitar. My name is Sonny and I live in Metairie, La, a close, but safe lol, suburb of New Orleans. We have a guy here, by the name of Craig Schexnayder, baseball glove size hands, like yourself, and besides being a huge and rare talented player, how skilled, fast, and precise his hands are in his playing technique, this imho is flawless, like yours, people that see how he Owns the Fretboard, are shocked with how fast and flexible his hands are, as he leaves a trail of smoke off of the fretboard. This guy has been drawing crowds at music stores in the New Orleans Metro Area for 20+ years. I love your tone. I'm a dinosaur when it comes to using computer programs, when playing guitar. I just plug in an amp, with very few pedals, and play. .I'm spoiled. Amp has to be Tube, preferably a Plexi or Modded Plexi Type, played through 2 UK Made Greenbacks, or a 4x12 Speaker Combo, with the 2 Greenbacks on top, and 2 Vintage 30's on the bottom. To Me, that is the Ultimate British Tone, for Classic Rock, Hard Rock, and Hair Metal. Hopefully this comment makes sense, since I just finished smoking for daily physical pain. Is what it is. Lol....Much love and respect from Metairie, La. You should have alot more subscribers than you do. This is an awesome channel, I'm happy I found. Love the Thayil Guild Polara, and definitely gonna check out that buddy of yours at Attic Guitars! He's a huge inspirational and super talented player like yourself. Lastly, if you don't mind my asking, where are You and He located, state wise? Take Care Brother.
Just put new strings on mine today. I love it. I also own a Guild Starfire 1 Jet 90 . That's also a great guitar but doesn't get played much because I dig my Polara too much.
Great pickup bro! I always thought that the Polaris looked like an SG on an acid trip. I was heavily influenced by Soundgarden and I always hated that they were lumped into the "Seattle" sound of the time because they were just an amazing hard rock band. Good to see ya back but glad you're gigging hard!
Thanks man! I’ve always had love for guild guitars and soundgarden when I had the chance to pick this one up I couldn’t say no! I’m glad I did. Kim thayil is one of my favorite players. Glad you enjoyed the video
Hey Trey. People crapping on your Guild don't know guitars. That guitar you have was one of the best models Guild ever produced. I bet it plays like a dream and has the good pickups and pro wiring. Guild makes real good guitars. I had a Starfire for a few years and I love it. I have a few high end guitars and always wanted a Polaris. Keep on rocking on Trey. I first caught wind of you on Sean's channel. I am a member over there. I own one of his offset Amazon guitars that for 299.00 is a great buy and I bought a black Reaper too which I like but I think the Amazon guitars is a better made guitar. Anyway love you sound bro. Hope to chat with you sometime.
I played a guild night polara not long ago and was not impressed. Played alright but it was so light that it felt really cheap! For $549 I want a guitar that feels like it’s Half a grand. How heavy was this one?
@@TreyShreddings I’ve never played or even heard about the one you got so I have no comments on that. It looks sick though! Sounds like it plays good aswell so that’s all that matters: I just have to give guild another shot I think!
@@TreyShreddings Just finished wiring up an OBEL Breakout Pedal so I can play my strat through the same effects loop I set up for my OBEL Scarred Guitar with the push of a button. Also doing the Gilmour Mod to My Strat.. Really gettin into the Tech side of Guitars...
Sick guitar man! Love the look of this thing. I was considering a Epiphone SG Custom because I love the look of the black SG style with gold hardware, but this guitar seems like it would be a better quality axe!
I got this.. then right after I learned that Guild just released the Polara Deluxe- it doesn’t have the phase switch. But it has COIL SPLITS. So I just had to get it. Guild better not put out a version with both the phase and splits!
I get it man. I own 2 gibsons and they are amazing in their own right but this guitar is thick sounding and just feels great to play. Definitely in competition with guitars much higher than the cost of it
@@TreyShreddings I think he means to say your mic that's in front of your amp is also the one you're using to pick up your voice in the room, so while your guitar tone is 🤌, your voice sounds 👎
@@ItFigures89 bummer. The way I recorded the guitar was through software so the only mic in the room was the camera mic and it sucked at doing it’s job lol. I will record my voice with a separate mic next time.
@@TreyShreddings my apologies for assuming the signal path, it just sounded like that was the issue going on, but you cleared that up. There are moments in the video where your voice comes through nice and clear, like when it's just you without the guitar, but when the guitar is on your lap, the sound quality on your voice is diminished. In any case, I actually just got a chance to play this exact guitar yesterday and was super impressed! It was way lighter than I imagined, but it sounded huge. Great video, bro! 🤘🏻
@@ItFigures89 No problem man, just workin out the bugs. Won’t have any issues if I run a mic to capture my voice better but i appreciate ya. This guitar is super light 6.3 pounds for mine and I love it.
You’re absolutely right, it’s definitely one of my favorite guitars at the moment and has definitely impressed my bandmates as well as our fans. Has a thick sound to it.
I bought the Guild Polara Deluxe in Cherry Red. The non-Thayil version. KILLER guitar, I think more people need to know about Guild.
I agree! Guild is a great brand and I love my Kim thayil guitar! Thanks for watching!
Definitely stepping up the game on your video production. Good job.
I appreciate that!
Came here for the review, stayed for some of the best guitar playing I've ever heard in my life. Trey can sure play! Rock on!
Aw thanks man! I hope you hit subscribe and check out my other videos!
Love seeing the live shots.
I’m glad you like it! 🤙
Glad you got a guitar that you like. Very cool!
I love it!
Nice Stuff Trey! I was wondering where you were, nice to see this video.
More to come!

Yep, sure enough...I went to my studio after watching this and my Les Paul had been killed. I'll get you for this, Trey Shreddings!!!
Hahaha you know it! This guild is awesome!
Just got mine last Wednesday. Kicks some serious ass!

This guitar is everything a Gibson SG ever wanted to be, but never could be. Great value for a top of the line build and vintage feel electric guitar.
Yes!!
I love listening to you shred

Killer intro. The Guild Polara is one of the most underrated guitars out there. I love mine

Regret not picking up the one all relief carved with oak leaves in a pawn shop , found out later it was factory done. Ugh!
