Been many years myself since I've fished there. But I do recall you having to wear your trout permit on you chest. Is that not a thing anymore?

Michael, In Winter during the off season, you don't need a park permit. You just need the state trout tag. This is the case for all of the Missouri State trout parks. Also, its only catch and release during the off season. Thanks for watching.

Michael, I also like the current river below Montauk State park. The Little Piney river, near its head waters is great for natural wild trout.
