As good as he sang that and as the composition was, the original version will never be topped. The original piano is what's haunting on the song. Britney sang (or was mixed well) with so much emotion and softness. I will never forget that original piano sound
with new information that she's written it for her lost baby, the original is even more heartbreaking now.
I'm in the camp that Britney sang it well, as she actually has a gorgeous naturally deep voice.
I love Britneys version but I love Lewis’s version more as I think his version is more emotionally charged. It really hits me.

I was just in floods of tears after hearing the second verse. Very relatable after losing my mum when I was 17.
I became quite mentally unwell, even more so than usual. And I literally used to make believe that she was still here just to get myself out of bed to look after my siblings. I'm 33 now and I still get these tsunamis of grief washing over me.
This song wasn't really on my radar until now. You sang it so perfectly. 💕🌻

It gets better with time- A 16 year old me after my mom passed away. Grief is nothing but our unexpressed love for them- so I cry out loud. This song is a therapy to me too, and I need her still.
