I lost a friend to suicide the first summer of Covid. She was the biggest Swiftie I knew. Rather than get mired in grief and mourning, I chose to honour her by having as much fun as possible whenever Taylor's songs came up and think about my friend abandoning herself into these songs.
Hearing Teddy sing this has tears pouring down my face. I miss my friend. Thank you for this.

I'm a big boy swiftie fan and teddy's cover made me love cruel summer even more. His attack to the song was heartbreaking, it made me want to cry in the middle of the heat of the sun.
Its amazing how they arranged the song. How the guitar comes in, how the drums are controlled, and how teddys voice bring the emotion

I love his vocal control, just hearing the start told me he had such great control of his voice in all its registers. His voice is so smooth and he’s singing beautifully. He has a such soft, impactful voice in the verses. I love the tone.

This cover is so heartfelt and I love the instrumental. It’s hard for me to say I like a rendition to a Taylor song better than the original or the live version by Taylor, but this… this wins me. You can feel the emotion in his voice, the pain, I love it so much!

Do a good TS cover is truly a challenge and most people don´t really capture the essence of the song, but this was pretty good cover, he kept main essence of the song and put his own spin on it which is necessary for a good cover. Great job Teddy.

this cover is like you are still in the midst of heartbreak, and it sound and feel like a cry when he sing "oooohhh ohh wohh its a cruel summer" and the " summer " part on the bridge is like you can feel and imagine youre screaming because of pain, whilst Taylor's is like you already moved on from the heartbreak.
