It's funny because I'm a car enthusiast and would LOVE to own that Camry! The reliability and potential is umatched in those early 2000 Toyotas. 20k miles on a 2004 is definitely catching lightening on a bottle. Your friend could sell that car for like 10 grand and people would pay for it.

I’m glad you review every car, for me I love every type car and what each bring to the table I love my sports cars but I also love Camry’s especially the SE trim on this model
I recently totaled my (parents') '95 Corolla. Luckily I had a decent bit of money already saved up and my dad has found an '04 Camry for $1.5k. I'm excited:)
I just picked up a 03 camry, with only 96,000 miles, 3.0 V6 and 5 speed auto.i,ve done som preventive maintenance, valve cover gaskets(leaking) witch is common on these cars.a tune up, air and fuel filters and radiator hoses and thermostat.runs and drives like a dream.
Myself, approaching retirement, can appreciate a car like this. Need a cheap commuter from Iowa to Florida where we have purchased a vacation/retirement home. Not really a fan of all the touchscreen stuff, but a car for these journeys will require AC, CC, a decent radio and creature comforts, reasonably priced tires, good mpg and reliability. I have been eyeing Camrys lately for this reason but still need my 4x4 Tacoma for my work commute in the northern Iowa winter. Actually considering a 4 cylinder engine due to easy maintenance but haven't driven any yet. As long as it can maintain 70-75 on the interstate it'll work.
A little over 3 years ago. I bought a 2003 Toyota Camry LE. Mine had a little more than 221,000 miles when I bought the car. It now has a little more than 252,000 miles right now. I have a VVTi engine. 4 cyls with 16 valves. Mine runs great but I know that I will and have put some money into the car.
Do maintenance and you will not spend much anytime soon 2003 330k three parts failed all after 250k knock sensor, pun hole in radiator, alternator. 330,000 miles less than 1000 in parts and labor. Now wear items tires belts hoses oil and filters brakes etc. Every thing works still all electrical switches motors sun roof all 100% great.
I actually have the 3.0 V6 5 speed auto from 2005, great car but just not fast enough, my 2003 accord coupe 3.0 v6 auto seemed a lot faster, my next car is definitely gonna be an awd or a rwd tho because of all the wheel spin i get when i floor this camry from a dig. Oh and I just subscribed to his channel :)
I have one 04 with silver exterior and black inside the car is well over 250k miles amazing car comfort reliable and great on the highway. The only car would I replace it with is Lexus Ls430
mikkei I have an ‘02 2.4 and I’ve never had a problem with it. My grandfather had it for 16 years before he gave it to me and he never had a problem with it either, it’s been a very reliable car. I had a misfire about a month ago, but that was because the valve cover gasket had never been replaced and oil was covering the ignition coil. I replaced both the gasket and spark plugs in about an hour and a half and it’s been running like new ever since
The 2002-06 Camrys do not burn oil. The 07-11 ones had low tension piston rings, which caused excessive wear and burned oil. I have an over 18 year old 05 Camry with over 350,000 kms. Still running. Toronto Canada
These are called Sportivo's in New Zealand, looks exactly the same, I got one with 300k km on odo, still drives good as new! Bought about a year ago for just under $3k NZD.
XLE is definitely the best in that generation.. it has a lot of options you can't get on the others.. XLE and XSE are the two top trim levels for Camry.. the new ones are great as well I have one of those.
We bought our 4 cylinder 2.4 2005 LE in 2015 with 113000 miles on it, for $7500. 6 year later with 210000 miles it’s still running like a champ. Economical, comfortable and the most reliable sedan I’ve ever owned. I was going to sell it , but I’m glad I backed off from doing so. Replaced the alternator, battery and four tires. I think I’ll try to sell at 300,000 miles.
Your Honda Accord has more horsepower than the four cylinder Camry did in that year. They are a lot peppier than the Camry. Both are the two best midsize cars you can buy .
Why do people count cylinders? It's the horsepower 190-hp, not the 3.0-liter V-6! I once had a 110 hp V-8 Olds Cutlass and now a 178 hp I-4 and the Camry is faster (0-60, 8.6 sec) compared to the Cutlass (0-60, 13 sec)!
