    Awesome info.As a nurse who works night shift for over 30 yrs,I can appreciate the frustration of not being able to sleep.Your combo is excellent.I also add dried linden flowers and leaves with passion vine (grows wild here all over florida, both of them) and it really does the job well without any dragging out when you are ready to wake up.

    I love fresh chamomile, it’s better than dried. There’s wild chamomile everywhere in Tennessee. It’s great by itself when fresh.
    And valerian and passionflower is better fresh also but though it knocks me out, it’s hard for me to wake back up.
    Fresh Rosemary will knock you out also.
    Magnesium like chocolate or beets can knock you out also.
    I put lavender essential oils under my arms to help me rest better also.
    I’ve never used lemon balm for a sedative, I’ll have to try that also.
    Thank you so much for the video and information.

    Thank you for this video. I just received a cast iron teapot from my husband. It has a stainless steel infuser and is designed to be on the stove for an extended period of time. I think this pot would be perfect for your recipe. With the spout and infuser I don't need to make a mess. My husband is very overweight and doesn't sleep well this blend will be exceptionally helpful for him. Thank you Mary. Tiffany.

    Hello, last summer (2023) i grew lemon balm in my garden along with some other herbs. I made a tea seeping 4 leaves of lemon balm, first i had an allergic reaction to it, my skin and throat were itchy and then it made me sleep in and out for 3 days. I could not stay awake, i dont understand. I love the flavour and the scent, I'm hoping to try it again, but dried this time and maybe just 1 or 2 leaves.

    That sounds so delicious with the lavender! Another relaxing herb I like that helps to lower blood pressure is passion fruit leaf. It has a mild spinach flavor and is also good in soups. Nothing helps me sleep through the night like fresh raw catnip leaves. It doesn't do the same thing in a tea. Great for active minds!

    • @TJ-zn4et
      @TJ-zn4et 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chineloegbo4018 fresh catnip you will have to grow. It likes well drained soil and plenty of sun. It is a perennial and tends to die back in the winter. It's usually easy to find as a plant late spring and summer. I grow mine in grow bags. When the little white moths are up and about I sprinkle the plants with a little diatomaceous earth, a completely natural harmless, pest control. The moth lays eggs that hatch into hungry baby worms that devour a plant. Eating dried leaves is fine just not so appealing. You can try Amazon for dried organic herbs or direct from a company like starwest botanicals. In Hawaii we call passion fruit lilikoi . It grows wild. Most people don't know how good the leaves are for you. Passion fruit does not overwinter in cold climates.

    Sounds delicious. I'm gonna pick up some chamomile next time I'm in town. I have plans to grow all three but it's still too cold, even in the greenhouse and I don't want to wait. 🥰

    Hi Mary, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos. Thank you for sharing so much for your knowledge in nutrient dense food and your easy to follow cooking recipes. I enjoyed listening to you and your wonderful stories. The love for your family is infectious as I get to know your son and husband.
    Btw, where can I buy German Chamomile? Is that the same as chamomile flowers? Does it taste different?

    I ran out of Chamomile and needed to sleep. Well, my husband had purchased "Sleepy Time" tea blend and so I tried it. Boom! Wow! The difference with this one was Valerian. What is your opinion on Valerian root as an add-on-to your sleepy time herb mix? I'm getting Valerian plants this month to add to my Herb garden. Thanks and I will keep my tea in the frig. What a good idea.

    Ive been wanting to grow herbs and make stuff out of them for a long time. I've grown a few but don't know when I'm supposed to pick them, how to dry them and such. My daughter is having insomnia so I've ordered the seeds, to grow the herbs and I will try this. It is Michigan so not sure how long it will take. I plan on sowing them, learning that too. Also want to learn how to use a greenhouse. Thank you! I can't wait to try it
