Thank you for this
Hello! As I am getting older, I am having difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. This video caught my attention, so, after looking up the ingredients, I decided to order them online and make this tea. I wanted to share my experience. The first time, I followed the brewing instructions using 2 teaspoons of the tea mixture as directed. The tea was quite strong, and did not taste good at all, but I drank it. I did not experience a sleepy feeling, but went to bed at my regular time, and I did fall asleep. I stayed asleep for longer than 8 hours and felt refreshed when I woke up in the morning. On day #2, I decreased the tea to 1.5 teaspoons and added an ounce of rosewater and some acacia honey. The taste was improved. Again, no overwhelming sleepy feeling, but I fell asleep in a comfortable amount of time, and slept 8 hours again. I am pretty satisfied so far with the way this tea works, and would like to thank you for the video. Tonight will be day #3, and I fully expect the same good results.
Thank you for this ❤️🙏
merci beaucoup 🙋♀️ 🇫🇷
You are an elderly and you get an straight 8 hours sleep? Wow! Good for you!
It's made a big difference for me. When I get a good night's sleep, the whole day goes better. I suggest anyone who has sleep difficulties should give it a try. Way better than meds
I was out running a Hurricane! My daughter was a month old! I couldn't breast feed her for several hours. Long story short, milk got blocked. The nurse said to use chamomile tea! Worked like a charm!
Chamomile tea is just amazing!
Have been drinking this recipe for two weeks. As a perimenopausal woman who's sleep has been disrupted since 2017 I am now sleeping at least 5-7 hours uninterrupted most nights. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Have made my 2nd batch and am trying out passionflower on its own during the day, so yes, taking time to get to know the plant.
I personally prefer to let the herb matter free float in the water. The aroma of the herbs is better, and there's also more plant surface exposed to the water (better extraction). Simply strain after steeping.
I feel the same and have read that this is a better way overall. :)
It is also the preferred and most widely used way to infuse herbs in water by literally every herbalist I know of. Personally, I dislike the contact of metals with herbs. To me it seems like imprisoning the plants. Putting them behind bars. Or putting shackles on them. So, freedom for my herbs anyway:))@@HappyGirl-ii6zf
Thank you for ur advice .
Thank you for sharing will try this for sure.
I am gonna try that!
The tea taste so wonderful and better than that, It helped both me and my husband to sleep like never before. I love you for sharing this. I have slept now for two nights in a row and wake feeling so happy. You are my saviour and I am passing on the message to all my friends. xxx
That’s wonderful. You are so welcome! 😊
What did you use before to sleep?
Thank you that review was really helpful..
Thank you for the review.
I love this guys’ presence. He’s like a friendly version of Severus Snape
CNM Could you add the recipe here in the description please? Thank you
Passion Flower
Skullcap
California poppy
Chamomile
Lavender
Rose petals
Velerian
Must all this be together?
Thanks
Great video, clear and concise. Thank you.
Thanks for the brilliant feedback!
you're awesome for your free info man. thanks for the wisdom
Passion flower is likely safe for most people when used as a flavoring in foods. It's possibly safe when taken as a tea for 7 nights, or as a medicine for up to 8 weeks. It may cause side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, and confusion.☝
Great recipe. Can you share the scientific name. I can’t find some of the teas in my country for:
Scullcape
Californian amapola
Lavanda
Thx for your help 🙏🏻
Danke fur das Hochladen sehr intresant
Theanine, Triptophan, also help sleep
Fantastic tea, I was able to sleep like a baby again.
That's great! Glad it helped!
@@collegenatmedI would love to try this- where can I find most of these herbs. Some are hard to find like poppy, rose, and fresh lavender? Thank you in advance!
@@ayoolagbaju2090i guess we stick with what we have and double the amount of tea spoons in our cup
It's hard to find ingredients!! Can we buy them online?? Are there any credible ones??
You could try a local herbalist or a health food store. I hope that helps!
Completely agree - Passionflower, chamomile, and valerian are perfect. Lavender and rose are interesting. I disagree on the California Poppy as many may not wish to introduce that; and scullcap is a little much for most. Still, you did suggest even using any of the herbs alone, which is good. Learning what your body cab handle is a good idea.
Thank you for your generous video recipe. Was able to purchase some of the herbals locally. Now waiting for my order with the rest. Looking forward to see how this tea affects me. I'm going to test it out, if it's helpful I will gift some to fellow insomniacs on my holiday list. Fingers crossed. I had to stop using THC edibles it was blocking REM sleep.
Wonderful!
😂
With some of these herbs, for example _skullcap_ , you should avoid if you have liver problems.
Thank you x
Why is that? I do have high Liver test results as well as insomnia!
Thank you. Do you have any other caveats?
This mix of herbs work wonderfully for our family's sleep time. God Bless you❤
Looks like I’ll be trying this blend out. Just gotta get a couple of the herbs I don’t already have.
Thank you for such a calming and relaxing sleepy tea blend 🍵
Amazing CNM lector! 👏
When you say skullcap, which are you referring to? Scutellaria lateriflora or Scutellaria baicalensis? I realize that they have similar names, but they aren't interchangable. Thanks so much!
It would be scutellaria lateriflora.
I noticed lemon balm is not included, what is your opinion on this herb?
It is a beautiful herb - we teach it quite extensively on our herbal medicine course as you can imagine. So great for sleep support, but also for calming the nervous system and helping with anxiety, stress etc.
Could the lecturer please tell us all where to buy all these herbs on line.
I found them on Amazon
@@BytheWay333Thank you.
Hi there. You could try contacting a local herbalist to see if they are able to provide you with a blend of herbs. Or try a health food store. I hope that helps!
Going to try this one to alternate with Golden Milk tea which also works beautifully but is a bit more work to prepare (and I do get lazy :) )
Great idea. You can also select just some of the herbs from this blend in the video to make a herbal tea if you would prefer. For example: chamomile and passionflower would also work beautifully for most!
Hi I would like to know what Chinese herb can't be used with antidepressants. I have chronic insomnia and I'm sick of taking prescription drugs that leave me feeling extremely sluggish and fatigue d. Thank you.😊
St. John’s wort
If you are on medications like antidepressants we would always suggest to see a herbalist to ensure that you are on a safe herbal blend with no drug-herb interactions. I am not sure where you are based but we do have herbal medicine clinics in our London Kings Cross campus which you can book into via the CNM website: www.naturopathy-uk.com
Peter, I'm giving up diet soda....Please can we have more herbal recipes for cold teas?
I gave it up as well- cold turkey& I’m soda-free since March 20, 2023. Actually, I went cold turkey on all sugars; except sugar naturally found in fruits/vegetables.
I can share what helps me- I bought a carbonator (so worth it) & I make my own “sodas” by adding lemon, lime, cucumber, mint, oranges, blueberries, hibiscus flower, etc., to the bubbly water!
Delicious even alone but my favorite go-to’s are: hibiscus & cucumber/mint.
Good Luck to you
You don’t need a carbonator though, you could do the same blends using cold, filtered water & infuse.
If you can't get California poppy what can you substitute it with? If all you can get is the tincture, how can you use it with the tea?
It seems a god recipe to try. But you have to use caution. Many people has allergies to some herbs. It would help to give the recipe in the box to avoid confusion. Homeopathic doctors recommend to only use three herbs. Can you please elaborate on this topic? Thanks so much. Looking forward to read your thoughts.
As a fully qualified BS-artist homeopathic doctor I can safely say that you can use 3 herbs for optimal placebo effect.
@@ilia2178 thanks so much for your reply.
Where would be a good, safe place to acquire all of these ingredients?
Goodness... I drink a blend of lavender and chamomile green iced tea as my primary hydration. A sprinkle of sugar just to take off the edge of the bitterness.
Pink dead nettle works so well for me. But I’ll try this as it sounds a lovely cup of tea.
So glad you have found something that works well for you!
Seems quite easy to be an Alchemist like u sir ....thanx🎉
Wonderful video!! Thank you so much!! I have ordered all of the herbs except the rose petals. Would you be so kind as to share with me (and the others) the botanical name of the type of rose petals you use? I'd hugely appreciate it. Also, if you have a recommended source for them (and the other herbs) that you could share, that would be awesome as well. Thank you again!! 🙂
Wonderful, thankyou
Just Love yr pantry kirchen background ... Super ! 🎉 ❤ 🎉
Planet Ayurveda Arjun Tea is fantastic! The taste is mild yet flavorful, and it's great for my wellbeing.
How does this tea compared to tinctures. I've tried all combined and felt nothing. But, to those who haven't started sleep medication - DON'T! Try remedies like this first!
I agree. I am on sleeping pills, wish I didn't start. Tried all this...nothing
Thanks so much for sharing this. We see sleeping problems so much in our CNM clinics and we teach insomnia quite extensively in our various courses therefore. Teas are a great place to start for many - they are gentle, contain no alcohol and can be quite strong if using a good quantity of herbs. Tinctures are generally faster acting and typically stronger, as the alcohol used helps to extract more of the therapeutic compounds. It sounds like you may benefit from seeing a practitioner for this. Feel free to check out our student clinics: www.naturopathy-uk.com
@@collegenatmed Thank you kindly
Thank you so much for recipe!🥰
I use lavender and chamomile.
Passion flower as well
Sounds great!
What about soursop leaf tea
Can you use Californian Poppy seeds rather than the flowers themselves?
... lemon balm is one of the best herbs for a sleep aid ...
It is great! It's one of our favourite herbs :)
I'm in the U.S. and am wondering how and where I might find all of the separate teas? I've never done a tea recipe, but it looks like it could be a real help for sleep.
There's likely an herbal store nearby somewhere. Even my small village has one here in Atlantic Canada :) If not, then there are online stores selling dried herbs (not teas necessarily, just dried herbs). Good luck!
Try Mountain Rose
Hi there! We recommend contacting a local herbalist to see if they are able to make you a blend. I hope that helps!
In the US you can do a search for “bulk foods” or “herbal store”.
I find mine in bulk at our local co-op.but I also have a Fresh Thyme & an herb store where I can find everything.
Good Luck to you.
Cheryl's Herbs in St Louis MO has quite a few of these herbs. I have been going there for about 30 years. They have mail order available.
So many great herbs for sleep here on this video🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿 🌿
I drink Sleepytime tea at night and it helps me.
Hi. Do you have a video for a powerful stress relief tea?
& another for hormonal balance/thyroid?
Thank you so much
Thank you for sharing. I've been drinking chamomile every night, before bed. There's only one brand I enjoy, which is quite expensive, for 20 bags. However, half these herbs I've never heard of or seen... Where would one purchase them? Don't tell me... Amazon, right?
Mountain rose herbs
Hi there! We recommend contacting a local herbalist to see if they are able to make you a blend. I hope that helps!
I wouldn't trust herbs from Amazon necessarily. Sometimes people sell something and it isn't the herb they claim. I have had this issue. Given that some herbs can interact with medications and have wildly different effects, you really want a reliable herb company, preferably a local herbalist. Mountain Rose Herbs is quite good.
THANK YOU SO MUCH ❤ VERY HELPFUL AND USEFUL VIDEO ❤
Thank-you for the lovely feedback!
I'd luv to see de natural rustic way of de infusion leaves floating & steeping strength & color or placed in paper mesh tea bags. ❤
Then strain .if it's loose tea leaf.😅
One would need to spend a FORTUNE to buy all those ingredients!
You can buy small quantities of these herbs online from herbal suppliers to keep the cost down. Alternatively you could make a more simple sleep tea by using some of the ingredients, e.g. chamomile and passionflower :)
I just got back from my local co-op & bought very small amounts. For example, the chamomile was the most expensive so I paid $2.10 of organic chamomile for .07 Lb
Organic lavender was $1.20 for .02 Lb
Organic Passion flower $0.66 for .03 Lb
Organic Valerian was $1.24 for .03 Lb
I also got organic lemon balm & I paid $1.02 for .03 Lb
I bought very little but will buy more soon!
Good Luck to you!
Great video! Thank you. Only one suggestion: I would rather use a teapot with a plastic mesh as metal can change some of the herbs' properties.
But slowly you’re eating or drinking that plastic because of the hot water, no? I heard that from a chef who told me to discard all my plastic cooking utensils.
We tend to go for stainless steel here and this should not really change the herbs properties. We avoid plastic as the hot water could easily leach chemicals from the plastic into the tea - not good! I hope that helps
Wonderful video. Ty
Good morning sir, could these nerves tea be brewed and stored in the refrigerator or it's best to make when you are going to have?
At start let's Steep for 3-5 minutes & then increase de infusion tym with added boiled water till flat & over de next few days. ❤
Thank you
Could I just make this into a tincture so I don’t have to drink the tea? I don’t like the taste of some of these. But I like the properties of them. Thank you for the video
Yes you can! Here's a link to our video on how to: th-cam.com/video/jvg9B7Xs-nA/w-d-xo.html
@@collegenatmed thank you!!!
@@collegenatmed thank you! I have another question. I have seen a lot of videos on elderberry tinctures, but I understood that you have to cook them for at least ten or fifteen minutes to rid the toxins. Though in videos, when the tinctures are made they just put alcohol and raw berries. I was wandering if in tinctures does it change due to the alcohol? Or would it be best to simmer them in a bit of water before adding a higher percentage of alcohol to off set the dilution from the water for simmering?
Fresh Lemon Zest ie. skin scrape rub of green lemon skin only 4de green zesty poly phenols on skin. Wow Luvly🎉
Very very well. I like your content I must try this!

You're very welcome!
Is it safe for toddlers to drink before bedtime!
Valerian was great for being able to relax into sleep when I had nerve pain.....however it also made me get up to urinate several times...so did not help actually sleeping through the night !
Thanks for this comment. I experience the same with Valerie. Can I combine with another tea.
I wander if you combine these herbs in a food processor and give it a quick chop will it increase the surface area of the herbs thereby extracting more of the chemicals from the herbs and making it more effective?
Soursop tea 😴😴😴

I’m fairly new to this. Does it matter which roses I use for teas?
Find culinary grade rose.
I would use damask rose petals as they are edible. Often used to make rose water.
Thanks Sounds wonderful but can we get all these in Delhi INDIA Please help God Bless ❤
Yes you can
I heard many yeas ago that metal shouldn’t be used with herbs. I use a bamboo strainer.
Something like stainless steel is generally fine - bamboo strainers are a great idea too! Definitely avoid plastic...
Is passion flower from the actual passion fruit plant ??
Valerian is wild. I used to take Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra (the stuff with Valerian) and that stuff knocked me out like I took a xanax! I'll have to try this recipe once I return to the US and can find (and grow) these ingredients.
Hello can you please link where to buy each herb please
I can’t use chamomile due to allergies. Would this work well with it?
Valerian makes me feel agitated and anxious. I assume I can leave it out and expect similar results?

Exactly . If i am not careful i end up feeling like a zombie and cannot meditate (concentrate )

No problem!
Are all the ingredients safe for people on heart medication?
Hello , Passion flower you mean pasiflora ;
20 grams of passionflower seems alot? Everywhere ive read dosages it says no more than about 3 grams
So you didn’t say weather you use the valerian root or the leaves ,,,,,,,and can any rose petals do????
Where is the recipe?
1. You don't need most of those. 20g of ground poppy seed should do it. 2. What sort of sleep will you get? The proper sort or the sleeping pill sort?
Is he saying poppy the whole plant or poppy seeds?
Where to buy those herbs please
