    Hooklift way to go faster way easier to pull on . You can do pull on dumpsters from different angles if there's cars in the way. Just better system overall in my opinion.

    Here in Europe, cable lifts have gone nearly extinct in favor of hooks years ago. I don't get why cable lifts are still the way to go in the states.

      You can drive around with the hook in the load position with a hook truck. A cable trucks rack still up too high to travel down the road unstowed

      exactly!

    • @FutureGPTranscoDriver
      @FutureGPTranscoDriver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      but if that is truly how long it takes to take a flatbed off that cable hoist system that's not the drivers fault that's the bodies and winches fault. Amrep roll offs will kick off a container and put a new container on in like 45 seconds to 1 minute. Amreps waste no time and are extremely quick!

    • @lauramurray6690
      @lauramurray6690 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FutureGPTranscoDriver but not quicker then a hook. The hook guy was slow as he'll as well. I can drop an empty in the street get the full can at the site put it in the street back up and get the empty put it on the site and go back out and get the full one without leaving the truck. The only reason I do is to make sure the gate is secure. It's no comparison. Not to mention the safty. Not having the cables to deal with is huge. Pulling a pup trailer forget about it a roll-off can't compete

    • @robbiejackson5282

      The hook lift is nice and has advantages but when your having to turn 30plus cans back to back with 5on a site 6miles to dump I can do 4-7more cans a day with a cable truck then a hook truck. If a tight street cars in the way I drop at an angle push it in. Getting it out I run cable through frame pull it out a bit hook and go. If your not great at it hook truck all day but if your good at what you do and the more cans you turn the more money you make cable truck all day. That's just my opinion as we all have one.

    Sometimes i gotta pull or back a box into a spot like a trailer though . Cable lets me. Does that hook?

    • @Ade067
      @Ade067 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah you can there are roller wheels on the back of the container, extend the sliding arm out first though if your gonna turn whilst pushing the bin back or you'll risk breaking the rear lights and possibly damaging the back of the truck. The same goes for if your picking the bin up at an angle, extend the hook arm out to connect up to the bin then square yourself up before lifting or the front of the bin can catch the back of the truck causing damage.

      Hell yea. First of all the cable guy has his straps on before the comp even begins. What the hook guy dont have straps? I think he does. Its the law. Second the cable guy is moving like he has 1 leg. And if these were loaded cans guess what people. The hook guy would have to get out and check that the can door is locked and secure just like the cable guy has to. Its not like he can just pull up hook and go. Put me up against him any day and I promise you what u see in this video wont ring true. Peace
