@@ak-jxrdy-7I be gotten far and let me tell you if you actually wanna play ( fast travel included) you will run out because everything is so far away especially the main missions

Plus it adds a sense of realism and it’s barely an inconvenience when you upgrade fuel capacity & efficiency with the other bike upgrades. I mean it is an open world apocalyptic survival game.
Refueling in Days Gone never bothered me. I never found fuel that hard to find and topped it off when I could so I think I ran out of gas like once or twice.
The biggest problem with the Refueling mechanic in Days Gone is how fast that bike chugs down Gas. Honestly, they should have made gas a lot more scarce and far between, and then instead have the bike actually being able to run for a few hours without needing a refuel. This way it would become a mechanic that didn't constantly bother you with stopping and refueling, while at the same time, it would be a mechanic that most players would forget, untill they suddenly need to escape a horde, and their bike won't start :D
Weapon Durability: why Elden Ring forgives us, and Bloodborne hates us 😭 Also, unrelated, imagine telling people that you worked on RDR2 and you were specifically part of the Horse Testicles Team 🙄
Hot take but the malaria bit in Far Cry 2 didn't bother me that much. It was a unique mechanic that sometimes fucked with my flow in interesting ways and because I've never really had anything like that I thought it was a novel. Granted I wouldn't wanna see it all the time but it'd be interesting to see other ways that games can interact with you.
Man, some of those video game complaints are the absolute definition of "Too much time on your hands" and death threats...?! What's was their idea of a great weekend...strangling a cat?
Out of all the games to choose for encumbrance, you chose Skyrim? There are very easy ways to get around this. You can fast travel on horseback while over encumbered, there's even a spell that allows you to summon a horse in the Dawnguard DLC. You can drink potions to temporarily get around being over encumbered, which allows you to fast travel anywhere. You can use enchanted items to increase your carrying capacity. Most of all, you can use followers to carry your burdens. There's even a bug that allows you to have them carry an infinite amount of stuff. Skyrim isn't even the first game where you have to deal with carrying capacity, there's a ton of other games that have that mechanic. Some of those games won't even allow you to move if you go over limit or let you even pick up stuff if you reach that limit. The fact that you chose Skyrim of all games just stuns me. There's probably other ways to get around over encumbrance in Skyrim that I haven't even mentioned here.
Just FYI you're wrong about skyrim's over encumbered mechanic. 8:18 you say you won't be able to use carriages, but you can. Fast travel doesn't wok, but carriages still do.
Most games have some way to limit the amount you can carry, either by number or by weight. A few even do it by size/shape. (I hated those games so much. Micromanaging a tetris minigame of your inventory)
I don’t like how this video feels like a constant complaining of all the details that went into the games. I THOUGHT this video was about pointing them out, not complaining about them. These pointless features that were put into the game are what make some of these the best games of all time. Days Gone features actually makes me want to play it even more. Red Dead’s gave us awareness of our surroundings in games because you never know what will happen.

For about two third of the list my thoughts were "If you dont like survival aspects in a game, why do you play survival games?" I mean, in survival games, you need at least one certain resource to continue playing/not dying, this could be fuel for example, or medicine, food, ammo, shelter, weapons, etc... If you dont like gathering, crafting and the need for consumable items, then you simply dont like survival games. Your list is full of survival games, that are on the list for being survival games... Its like making a list for the worst scenes in games, not liking horror games and and then 70% of the list are jumpscare scenes.... If half of your listed game aspects have nothing to do with the theme of the list, you are dong something wrong...

I didn't remind the refueling in Days Gone, though it was too frequent, it was still something interesting that could complicate what you were doing in a profound way. I think they took it a little too far, but I enjoyed having to refuel at times. Not all the time, of course. ...but I also liked the the breakable weapons in BotW. I guess I also didn't mind having to use less than optimal weapons.
I honestly didn't find having to refuel Deacon's bike in Days Gone all that annoying. In fact itv was pretty much routine and something I would expect in a post-apocalyptic zombie scenario when gasoline might be a bit hard to scavange given no one's making the stuff anymore. It didn't stop me from exploring. In fact, gas cans -- which thankfully have infinite amounts of gas in them no matter how many times you use it -- are quite common and easy to find. I would agree with you if gas was rather rare and hard to find or if I had to trek back to a gas station for each refueling. But there's a gas can on every tow truck and there's a lot of those around -- not to mention there's at least one can at every NERO checkpoint -- not to mention the random can you cans find all over the place. I only ever ran out of fuel once and that was my own fault for not paying attention.

Something about resident evil 4 (the original one) is it's attention to detail. Like when you first get to the church, you can shoot the bell and summon enemies. Or, in the case of a complete accident on my part, get hit by an enemy and roll past or get knocked down in view of Leon actually looking up Ashley's skirt while lying on the floor for a few seconds. She yelled, "Oh! You pervert! 😠" I wasn't even trying to get Leon to do that 😅
I disagree with BF4. That outfit's cammo ability prevents your character from lighting up white for FLIR which is extremely useful since people like to run it for easy kills.
Encumbrance in Skyrim is very forgiving. In Morrowind you couldnt move at all when overencumbered. Skyrim's survival mode cuts the weight limit into 1/3. That was too much, I couldnt handle it. Vanilla Skyrim is fine, though. I didnt mind the chores in RDR2. You dont have to do them, ever, if you dont want to. For looting, once you get to be a prosperous gun slinger i just quit looting anything/one.
Disagreed on the lifelike eyes. You might not notice it in particular when you don't know what to look for, but nevertheless it does contribute a great deal to the characters coming across almost like real people. We are used to pick up a lot of emotional subtext via facial expressions and especially via the eyes of people we interact with subconsciously, thus having lifelike eyes in closeups not only makes the characters look real, it also helps the viewer to emphatize with them. Of course you might say "I don't care for realistic visuals in a video game and I skip the cutscenes most of the time anyway", but IF a video game developer aims at creating semi-realistic movie-like graphics, eyes are not a tiny negligible detail. They are e.g. much more important than realistic hair animation, because we don't emote through our hair. An animated character with life-like facial expressions can have clunky unnaturally stiff hair that regularly clips through the color of the characters clothes and will still feel much more real and relatable than a character with perfectly animated naturally flowing hair but a lifeless doll-like face.

What you said about the eyes and beards is a little ubsurd. These little nuances keep adding up to why games look so amazing today and even more real in the future. The realness is, in fact, what gamers are looking for they are buying and over clocking graphics cards so the graphics look better. Although i disagreed with that part, I hate to complain about free art without also saying good work awsome video all around and thanks for all the time you put into this.
Took me the entire part about MrMarios animal suit before i realised you just have a wierd accent and its in fact not at all some bloke named Peter that dislikes Nintendo or something
Not first
Absolutely nothing wrong with “crunch culture” I’m a auto tech for Euro cars and we do it all the damn time, it’s not “crunch culture” it’s being busy and busting your ass to get work done with time constraints and it’s what originally built this country, now people just lazy and wanna “work” from home yet get paid the same if not more money for 2 hours of work a day. Ever wonder why games take so long now, it’s not JUST that they are big and advanced let me tell you
When easter eggs went too far? GTFOH😂😂
I'm sorry half of these were amazing. Like only 2 weren't good.
Pays second list was pretty bad
Couldn't round it to 100 huh?
28:53 all these people that are getting all pissy about reusing animations well let's hope they never watch a Disney animated film ever because those are very renowned for reusing clips from their other animated films
in skyrim can you drop stuff and have a follower pick it up to have unlimited stff of dose that not work in that game
Poor Skyrim. Over encumbrance is a standard mechanic in every rpg ive ever played.
disc 3 in final fantasy 9 you can't go to lindblum in disc 4.
At least with ubisoft in 2008 they made you do missions for the medication now days they would charge you 5 real dollars per pill 😂😂😂😂
id sit through the movie and MST3K it
the completely realistic eyes are useless like the whole story of Part2 ...
Not a fan of usual 12-15 minute videos being dragged out for over an hour...
4-5 smaller videos would be better.
@@cyrilthefish I completely agree. I’m not prepared for the commitment to watch a video this length but I would watch four or five smaller videos.
Then don’t watch them. Save us all having to deal with your complaining.

So you're saying this is a video that went too far?
I agree with you and I’ll say, please add time stamps if you’re going to drag on!
Lol, I think I disagree with almost all of your takes on these games.
