Fun fact, as seen in the devastation of Baal, if you blew off a carnifex's head the bioweapon it's carrying has a smaller secondary brain that it'll use to puppet the body around to continue fighting
Yeah, it's said in the book that almost every Tyranid unit is actually a collection of symbiotic organisms. Unless there's a need to create an entire new lifeform, the hivemind simply swaps out the symbiotic living weapons/ tools. This also explained why the carnifex are the most common large units in a Tyranid ground force. They are big enough to carry multiple modifications while also small enough to be mass produced.
@@minhducnguyen9276For all the tyranid artillery bioforms the guns have a brain Of their own and the guns are the ones on the relationship doing all the complex desicions including ordering the beasts to move and where to plant themselves on the ground.
@@davidfrancisco3502 Look can be deceiving when it comes to the nids. Sometimes the living weapons being carried are the ones in charge, not the creatures carrying them. The reason that the Hierophant is only 810 points is because no-one was using it, due to the points cost, so they reduced it in either 8th or 9th. The old cost was 2000.

The screamer-killer is basically the original bio-plasma line, probably developed as a testbed prototype for the adaptation and then optimized by the hive mind. The reason it makes that horriffic noise is that in order to generate bio-plasma, Tyranids basically rasp bony charge plates against each other in their throats, and then vomits forth the bright green glowing plasma that's essentially acid that has been vaporized and then charged with enough static electricity that it assumes a plasma state. That's because (if my memory serves, which it often doesn't) there was a group a loooong time before 40K who were more or less the psychic Illuminati. They saw that Chaos was growing stronger, devouring the souls of lone psykers as they died so that they couldn't be reincarnated, and they feared that humanity would perish without psykers to lead them. The solution? Die willingly and then fuse all their psyker power together to be reincarnated into one SUPER PSYKER that could beat the ass of any Warpspawn it came across. He was known as the New Man, and basically worked in the background of humanity ever since civilisation first appeared helping usher things along in the background. However, Chaos kept getting stronger despite the New Man's efforts to gently steer humanity in the right direction, so in the end he said 'screw it i'mma lead you fools directly ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL' and then became the God Emperor of Mankind as we know him in the main lore. So yeah. The reason the Emperor is so ungodly psychically powerful is because he's basically what happens if you take the most powerful psykers humanity has to offer, stuff them all into a blender and then pour out the result into a single person.
Given that the Tyranids have one mind that is arguably non-sapient, I think maybe Tyranids channel psychic power in a different manner to the other races; the other races' psychic power is dependent on a combination of willpower, intelligence, and genetics but Tyranids only use the 3rd (and potentially the 2nd) and so they grow giant brains. I am not sure if this is still canon but The Emperor was created by the ritual-self-sacrifice of many human-shamans, each of whom were somehow special, this created a being that embodied all aspects of humanity.
The carnifex model actually came out all the way back in 2005, I remember because I had a pewter one that I abandoned as soon as this one dropped 😂 Sad thing is the age of the mold means carnifex kits now have considerable gaps and huge mold lines, plus the size creep of Tyranid monsters has made them look a LOT smaller. P.S. I actually have 2 stone-crushee carnifexes still awaiting painting and assembly. They had one version with two wrecker claws (basically just crushing claws but stronger), and one with a wrecker claw and bio-flail. I got one of each for Christmas in 2021. Glad I did since they discontinued them just this year :/ Now I wish they would bring the capillary towers and spore chimneys back, bring back tyranid terrain models! P.P.S. Considering how overcosted and underpowered the rest of the Tyranid index is, a single really good model feels fair. Until they give us better profiles and better points, a cheap Haruspex at least acts as consolation.

Wait, Jerma's a Tyranid? This explains SO much. Especially that 'if I put you into a meat grinder' speech. Of course he eats ass - HE'D EAT ALL OF YOU.
I would love to see an episode where Kirioth comes on and it's just warhammer quotes. Where bricky and DK have to guess where those quotes are from. Help DK out, feel dumb, or maybe he gets as many right as bricky and feels good about himself.....but probably the first one.
The Hierophant is actually very overcosted at the moment. There's a FW Knight variant that only costs 20 point more and is almost twice as killy AND survivable. Relative to other armies' big LoW models, in terms of points efficienecy the 'Phant is underwhelming.
I appreciate being trolled with the racoon eating grapes. I was mentally prepared to see something horrific, but nope, surprise wholesome. Dammit, I want a little trash panda buddy.
35:25 When I saw tyranofex's(?) model, I thought it looked uncanny, but I couldn't place my finger on why. But then I realised that it is literally a tyranid with a gun in a jack-o-pose. That feels so wrong, but I can't stop looking at it and seeing THAT.
I've finally realized why I'm annoyed by the Tyranids as a faction in lore: They don't have a "big weakness." Now, let me put out examples of how every other faction has a "big weakness." Imperium - It's size and bureaucracy / perpetually spread thin Eldar/Dark Eldar - Small population Orcs - Constant infighting Tau - Limited force projection / Regional power Necros - Spread out and still in the process of reviving / Dynasty infighting Chaos - Less powerful outside of the warp / infighting within the warp Tyranids don't seem to have a major weakness to hold them back. You could argue that killing the larger ones causes the lesser units to be less coordinated, but that's temporary since there's always another control unit that can move in to take control. If the number of hive fleets currently in the galaxy were the entirety of the Tyranids then that would be something to balance out just how powerful they are. But, we're constantly being told that "this is just the tip of the iceberg" making them absolutely unstoppable. An unstoppable enemy is a boring enemy for a war game like 40k, every victory feels pointless. If 40k takes the Age of Sigmar approach and just goes "and the Tyranids won" I'll be extremely disappointed. 40k being an endless war is what appeals to me, it literally never has to end and a faction like the Nids has the potential to ruin that unless they are given a "big weakness" like everyone else. The only "big weakness" I can think to give the Nids would be a permanent disruption to the Hive Mind, which I hope will happen in lore soon.
As Rogal Dorn continued to grapple with his emotions, the chamber's atmosphere shifted once more. Angron, the Crimson Angel, and Mortarion, the Death Lord, entered with an air of solemn understanding. Angron: **gruffly** "Dorn, we felt your turmoil. You're not alone in this." Mortarion: **nodding** "Indeed. We've come to offer some... unconventional advice." Rogal Dorn: **sniffles** "Angron, Mortarion... what is it?" Angron: **crossing his massive arms** "Look, relationships are messy. They bring both joy and heartache. But you know what doesn't disappoint? Anime cat girls." Mortarion: **deadpan** "Yes, you heard right. Anime cat girls. They don't break your heart, they just break the laws of physics." Rogal Dorn: **confused** "Anime cat girls? What are you talking about?" Angron: **smirking** "Imagine adorable cat-eared girls, Dorn. They're cute, they're fluffy, and they exist in fictional realms where your heart is safe from real-life troubles." Mortarion: **sarcastically** "Yes, because getting invested in animated characters is definitely the solution to emotional turmoil." Angron: **rolling his eyes** "Better than moping around, Mortarion." Mortarion: **sighs** "Fine. Look, Dorn, the point is that sometimes, it's okay to find solace in fictional escapes. Anime cat girls are just one example of the strange and wonderful things you can find." Rogal Dorn: **sniffles, managing a small smile** "You both have a strange way of comforting, but I appreciate it." Angron: **clapping Rogal on the back** "Good. Now, go explore the world of anime and discover the wonders of cat girls." Mortarion: **reluctantly** "And... if you ever need someone to talk to, we're here too." Rogal Dorn: **wiping his tears** "Thank you, Angron, Mortarion. I'll... consider your advice." Angron: **grinning** "Just remember, cat girls are eternal." Mortarion: **deadpan** "And if you get tired of that, there's always the galaxy to defend." As Angron and Mortarion left the chamber, Rogal Dorn was left with a mixture of bemusement and gratitude. While the solution they proposed was unconventional, he couldn't help but find a glimmer of amusement in their attempt to console him. And who knew? Perhaps exploring the world of anime cat girls might be a distraction he needed, even if it was just for a little while.

Wait, Jerma's a Tyranid? This explains SO much. Especially that 'if I put you into a meat grinder' speech. Of course he eats ass - HE'D EAT ALL OF YOU.
Between the tervigon/tyranofex and hierophant biotitan, GW seems to be trying to make a grimdark Jacko pose
I would love to see an episode where Kirioth comes on and it's just warhammer quotes. Where bricky and DK have to guess where those quotes are from. Help DK out, feel dumb, or maybe he gets as many right as bricky and feels good about himself.....but probably the first one.
Uh oh. You mentioned GW and 3D printers in the same video. Now them lawyers will be coming for ya!
If you think about it, if you wanted to mess with Bricky with an abomination. Making a *basic* abomination would be a great way to twist the knife.
The green model of the biotyrant looks derpy, as if its coming to tickle ya with its gangley legs all bent and haunched over ready for a tickle fight.
Totally not going to add these to my custom Splinter Hive Fleet Monstri Mere.
Damn, they sure have big guns!
Yes... "Guns" says the mini sculptor at GW
The thing about tyranids is that when you play them and it’s your first army it looks small at first until you get literally any other army
By the law of the internet, you are now required to post pictures of your cyclops cat.
The Hierophant is actually very overcosted at the moment. There's a FW Knight variant that only costs 20 point more and is almost twice as killy AND survivable. Relative to other armies' big LoW models, in terms of points efficienecy the 'Phant is underwhelming.
i see the Haruspex and can only think "BAD DOGGIE!!! PUT THAT MAILMAN BACK RIGHT NOW!!!"
I appreciate being trolled with the racoon eating grapes. I was mentally prepared to see something horrific, but nope, surprise wholesome. Dammit, I want a little trash panda buddy.
Dk with his one eyed kitty sounds so god damned adorable

When I saw tyranofex's(?) model, I thought it looked uncanny, but I couldn't place my finger on why. But then I realised that it is literally a tyranid with a gun in a jack-o-pose. That feels so wrong, but I can't stop looking at it and seeing THAT.
I've finally realized why I'm annoyed by the Tyranids as a faction in lore: They don't have a "big weakness." Now, let me put out examples of how every other faction has a "big weakness."
Imperium - It's size and bureaucracy / perpetually spread thin
Eldar/Dark Eldar - Small population
Orcs - Constant infighting
Tau - Limited force projection / Regional power
Necros - Spread out and still in the process of reviving / Dynasty infighting
Chaos - Less powerful outside of the warp / infighting within the warp
Tyranids don't seem to have a major weakness to hold them back.
Their greatest weakness is plot armor of other factions, that's enough.
They always loose without weakness, if they get one - that will completely press them into the floor.
The Norn Queen is a McDonald's customer putting together their happy meal and whatever comes out is the new Carnifex version xD
You're not alone in this."
Mortarion: **nodding** "Indeed. We've come to offer some... unconventional advice."
Rogal Dorn: **sniffles** "Angron, Mortarion... what is it?"
Angron: **crossing his massive arms** "Look, relationships are messy. They bring both joy and heartache. But you know what doesn't disappoint? Anime cat girls."
Mortarion: **deadpan** "Yes, you heard right. Anime cat girls. They don't break your heart, they just break the laws of physics."
Rogal Dorn: **confused** "Anime cat girls? What are you talking about?"
Angron: **smirking** "Imagine adorable cat-eared girls, Dorn. They're cute, they're fluffy, and they exist in fictional realms where your heart is safe from real-life troubles."
Mortarion: **sarcastically** "Yes, because getting invested in animated characters is definitely the solution to emotional turmoil."
Angron: **rolling his eyes** "Better than moping around, Mortarion."
Mortarion: **sighs** "Fine. Look, Dorn, the point is that sometimes, it's okay to find solace in fictional escapes. Anime cat girls are just one example of the strange and wonderful things you can find."
Rogal Dorn: **sniffles, managing a small smile** "You both have a strange way of comforting, but I appreciate it."
Angron: **clapping Rogal on the back** "Good. Now, go explore the world of anime and discover the wonders of cat girls."
Mortarion: **reluctantly** "And... if you ever need someone to talk to, we're here too."
Rogal Dorn: **wiping his tears** "Thank you, Angron, Mortarion. I'll... consider your advice."
Angron: **grinning** "Just remember, cat girls are eternal."
Mortarion: **deadpan** "And if you get tired of that, there's always the galaxy to defend."
As Angron and Mortarion left the chamber, Rogal Dorn was left with a mixture of bemusement and gratitude. While the solution they proposed was unconventional, he couldn't help but find a glimmer of amusement in their attempt to console him. And who knew? Perhaps exploring the world of anime cat girls might be a distraction he needed, even if it was just for a little while.
The Mawloc is one of my favorites. My 2nd favorite is the Tervigon. And third place is a tie between Hive Tyrant and the Carnifex.

I deprive great joy from Bricky's discomfort. >:3c Another great episode lads, thank you for helping dive into the terrible world of 40K
I had to pause in the middle of the episode, put my phone away and go to sleep because my cackling at the cock sounds kept waking up people who slept over
There are TH-cam videos with your favorite fan artwork of the BioTitan where the Plasma Wielding Guardsman says: "It isn't xenophobia if it is warranted!"
Look hard enough for it and I'm pretty sure the Tyranid Dominatrix fanart you want to see is gonna be there.

One of the other large flying bugs they didn't mention was the Harridan (also the dominatrix doesn't birth the units itself, it carries a norn queen on its back (that does the birthing).

Yep his hate for ultramarines is just as bad as Matt ward love for them.
It is truly heinous how irritating it is.
