- Welcome back to Biglin Lawn Care. In today's video I will be transforming a corner property with multiple overgrown palm trees. I found this lawn while driving around and quickly realized it was abandoned. I spoke to a few neighbors, who all said the owner just up and left almost overnight about a year ago.
I decided to clean up this property for the neighborhood. After I got started I spoke to a man who claimed to be the Uncle of the man who owns the property. The man and his nephew both move here from Peru but the nephew had to move back to take care of his sick wife.
The Uncle lives a few blocks away and stopped to talk to me when he saw me doing the work. I told him I do this type of work for free, but he insisted on paying me. He gave me $100 at the end of the day. I told him I could not except the money but he insisted that if someone did work for him, especially a big job like this one, he needed to pay them for the work. I ended up accepting the money.
What do you guys think? Was it a good thing to accept the money or do you think I should have been more persistent about not taking payment? I hope you all enjoy the video and I'll see you next time!

I love it when you lawn guys trim up the trees underneath and the bushes underneath in the trunk area because it just opens up the whole yard and makes it look much bigger and cleaner. 👍👍❤️
It was a matter of pride for the man and accepting the money, the man felt he was still taking responsibility for caring for the property. ❤

I agree. There are still people in the world who don’t want charity, they want to take care of their own. I think now that you’ve gotten it under control, he’ll be able to keep up on it. Bravo!
@@tetedur377Other cultures are not lazy like US majority. SOME people do have a sense of pride in work and property. He said the guy was older, being older I know what days are like when you just don't feel up to par.

We don't have palm trees in OKC, they look difficult to deal with to me. All dry and brittle, lovely trees when trimmed up!
If I was forced to live in a state with palm trees, I'd have them completely removed from my property. They give me the creeps. So do Oak trees, they're ugly. Pine trees can stay. 👍🏻😊

I’ve learned not to take away someone’s blessing. If someone wants to do something nice for you, let them. It’s like you mowing free, it makes you feel good to do it…that’s your blessing.
If they insist of giving you a tip is because they acknowledge that you put in a lot of hard work and they are showing you there’re appreciation good job !!

You did a lot of work and didn’t go into it with the assumption you were going to get paid. That in itself was very nice! The man insisted and you were doing him and his nephew a huge favor! No sense in arguing as I’m sure he was thankful someone did the work!

That $100 wouldn't pay for your gas to travel and hauling the debris away. The great trimming on the palms alone would have cost him much more than that! He did right giving you the money, and you did right by accepting it. This was a beautifully executed transformation. Hope the owner's wife gets better.

I think you did the right thing by accepting the money. The uncle clearly felt a responsibility so by accepting the cash you included him in looking after the place. Judging by what you did here, $100 is extremely good value!
Great job, it was so nice of you to help this family. I hope his wife gets better. Sometimes you have to except the money, some people don’t know how to not pay for work, it’s the way they are raised, that you pay for work that is being done.
I know you don't normally except money, but in THIS case, it seems appropriate. Just trimming those palm trees made the property look SO MUCH better. A nice home in a nice neighborhood, now looks like it should - beautiful work.

Absolutely mind-boggling the amount of work you put into this yard. Honestly I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone on these shows put in as much raking and hauling and trimming as you did on this. So many of these channels nowadays have given up on the raking end and leave huge clumps of grass everywhere. You deserve to be very proud of the work that you did. And I agree that it's more than fine that you accepted the money from the gentleman. I too would feel some sense of relief to be able to at least give you something . Especially knowing how much that job would have cost on the open market! Just amazing.

In many cultures, there are many different ways in which one rewards for someone generosity of services. If one offers you a monetary, don't deny their offer. Then they get offended by you not expecting their kind gesture to you. Bro, don't feel bad in anyways when someone does this to you. They deeply appreciated it very much what one do.😊😊😊😊

You're trimming the palm trees right now and I don't want to look away to make this comment. It is so satisfying to see you cut away all of the dead palm fronds! You did so much work on the ground, but trimming the trees took this transformation over the top. Your work ethic is amazing because you are willing to work through the torrential downpours and still stick around to trim the trees. My husband and I love your videos! I follow quite a few lawn care companies and you are 1 of the best so far. There is an art to lawn care. Some just cut, trim, edge, blow, running through the lawn, not raking, leaving the lawn unraked and half trimming, etc. Some have over a million followers. My lawn has to be right , edging, weed free and cut high. I had my mower specially lifted. Only my brother and nephew can do my lawn. Me and my son use to do it, but my back won't allow me. I went through big companies and let them go. They don't get it.
