I've ordered a Bonneville Speedmaster and will be part-exing my GS, and I'm already starting to talk like Stuart and can't wait to start a new motorcycling chapter at aged 62!
I had an issue with the Voyager rack hitting the two screws in the TRIUMPH badge on the back of the seat when going over bad bumps. I think my rack is set even further back than Stuart's too. I just moved the seat a little more forward and now it seams fine. Just a light black touch up paint to cover the two dings on the rack and it's almost undetectable. I love this bike more and more every day. Thanks Stuart.
I don’t have a Bobber but this rack design certainly looks like a stock part for this motorcycle. It also gives it a very retro look to it that again looks like it was part of the original bike design. I want a Bobber now just because of this rack!!
I love your videos. This one was very informative for me as I am thinking about getting a Triumph Bobber to do some touring out here in Southern California. Also I'm an expat from Hull and its great to see you riding around the local area. Keep up the good work.
I’d maybe suggest a smaller bit for the pilot holes, 2mm, for those not used to doing this sort of thing, then a 4mm and so on, and if they aren’t new, go and buy some new bits. Looks nice.
I managed to do the NC500 (from Bristol, via Snowdonia, Yorkshire and Cairn Gorms - so just shy of 2k miles in all) and my Bobber did really well. Tank bag, backpack and H&B panniers (one had clothes, the other had 5 ltrs of extra fuel). Happy times!!!😄
Stu. Love your vids as I do (and I can see your window from my Dad's house on the South Bank), this reminds me of why, back in the 70's - and until now, I decided that Japanese technology was for me. So, with a collection from my 1969 CB750 Sandcast, through to my daily rider, a 2020 Africa Twin, I have to say that I was delighted yesterday when my Givi monolock rack arrived, and is now looking stunning on my "Retirement" bike, without chopping, drilling, taping / scratching or welding - and I am confident I could build a small house on it, without a fear of bending my rear muddy !! Just sayin' Stu. Just sayin 😁. Lovely vid - as allus pal 👍
The Bobber is looking lovely, and the Motone rack looks great. I wish they made more parts for the Interceptor. It is a testament to your video making that I can end up watching a whole video of you fitting a luggage rack to a motorcycle that I don't own and ostensibly have no interest in. That said, the techniques you include in these type of videos have wider uses as good practice. 👍
Wanting to do a Gibbonslap-style build with my SR400, this rack would really tick all the boxes if the mounting points aren't too wide for my skinny rear fender. 1. Looks great. 2. Fantastic quality. 3. Highly functional. 4. All of the above while costing 100 pounds less than the Kedo part. Thanks for the informative video as usual!
Brilliant video as always Stuart, very informative of procedures needed for the drilling of shiny paintwork and that’s a mighty fine rack by the way 😃👍🏻
'Perfectionist' is the word which gets shame in front of you. You are way over it. I admire your attitude towards those tiny little details. Keep it up.
Ah memories of Pifco, Ronco and Victor Kiam (he bought the company). I got sent to Iraq with the RAF. It was rubbish. This is a far nicer rack. Thankyou sir.
Nahthen from Lincoln. Hugely interesting vid for those of us who plan to have a Bobber in the near future and planning customisation in our heads even before we have the bike. As soon as I've ordered mine Motone are going to be receiving a rather substantial Cactus order from me 😁That rack looks fantastic and my heart leaped when I first saw the pic with it fitted - at last, I thought, a good looking solution to something I had basically given up on, maybe i would not have to make the sacrifice of not being able to carry more luggage in order to own that style of bike after all - A SOLUTION!!! But I have to admit, finding out the need to drill holes in the mudguard horrified me! There's no going back once the first hole is drilled. It's so permanent - irreversible. I would love to have the solution that looks like your rack, but - and this is only me - structurally altering the mudguard is probably a step too far for me, my OCD would probably shift into overdrive and self destruct lol. The other solutions on the market don't suit either, so I suppose I'll just carry on as I do now, with a good sturdy vintage East German Army rucksack that packs plenty and cost £9 from an Army surplus store 😁. But another brilliantly executed massively interesting vid with a really interesting product that will be a superb solution for many others. And great to see your Bobber get another airing 👍
Triumph Bobber’s swing arm, tyre and mudguard all move together at the same time. It’s like one part. So like Stu said, no, no risk. But… the big minus of this design will be that putting any luggage on your rack will increase the weight of the unsprung mass. It will definitely affect functioning of your rear suspension. Bobber’s design simply doesn’t allow much in that regard.
Touring on that bobber you will need panniers that will hold 2 Jerry Cans for spare fuel as the tank is too small for serious mile munching, appart from that its a great looking bike
I built my own rack last summer. It worked fine but if you load to far forward, you get quite a lot of nudging from the luggage load hitting your back.
I bought a 17 used from a dealership, the previous owner really did a great job doing the Cat , Fox shock , mini apes and on and on, however he even did the Corbin seat and here is where my question lyes . The seat and rack are one piece, but it has a flat plate with two bolt holes in it, I’ve scoured the internet and can’t seem to find what went on it, I can only imagine a type of hard case, any ideas Mate ?
Great stuff as always! As I have been accustomed to women approaching me with a cloudlike veil in their eye´s in let´s say restaurants, just because I ordered a stew. Uncle Stu, I wonder if there is a more comfortable seat for the Bobber.? I mean with old school springs and all that would make sitting for longer sessions a more bearable affair? For me I mean, the chicks can take the bus. Keep up the good work!
OMG - drilling the mudguard! That's the reason I never mounted a pedestrian slicer on the C5. This one is a really sleek item though. What we need now is a well designed tank rack like those of yore - screw-ins are not fashionable anymore (unless you weld some nuts on the tank and that is a no-no for a host of reasons), suction cup ones seem too in danger of flying away (I know Motone manufactures that version, I just don't like suction cups)... what could be the answer, really strong magnets (rubber coated, that goes without saying)?
It looks fabulous, but I would like to see a video of you loading it up with camping gear. I think the strap hooks are on the wrong sides? I think they would work better being fore and aft not on the sides. But only you can prove me wrong 👍
Hi Stuart saw vid Triumph Bonneville Bobber Motone finally drops the H bomb Full Hpipe Cat delete. After fitting will the bike fail an MOT if Cat removed?
Great video! I'm thinking of getting this, would it be possible for you to add some pictures showing the profile of the bike so I can get an idea of what the profile of the bike will look like with the rack on? I've scoured the internet everywhere but not managed to find any yet. Cheers
Great video! Thank you. Wanted to place an order for the Voyager using your link. However, the discount code no longer works. It's now a year later, so it could be that...
Place unit on mudguard to ascertain correct position, mark and carefully drill holes for fixing bolts......visit local Tyre dealer for new rear tyre.... Ho, Ho!....
This is a brilliant video Stu. I don't own a Bobber but the practices you exercise here are easily transferable to any bike and are therefore invaluable imo. I recently installed the 'Pyramid' rear tyre hugger on my Himalayan for example, which also uses thick compression rubber washers and alloy internal sleeves. I also have a very much 'belt and braces' approach to rust protection. Which rust protection product did you use here by the way? Many thanks 🙂
Nice install maybe consider smearing Waxoyl underneath though seeing as that's where a lot of water and rust inducing crap is going to be flung? But maybe lots of these won't see the rain 😂
So I installed mine according to your tutorial, it went in just as you instructed, however I weigh 220 pounds and when going over a bump the bottom of my seat contacts the rack! I watched your video again to see if I overlooked something, it seams this is a characteristic of the design. Wish I would have made a more informed decision… Thoughts???
Great Rack ! Can a useful Triumph T-100 rack and passenger backrest unit be created, please !? I would drill my fender for it. This rack design is great ! 👍
Thanks for that video, I am very close to pulling the trigger on buying a 2019 bobber. Would that black touch-up paint be good enough to paint the stainless steel bolt heads and washer, so that they are also black, or would it peal off
VERY GLAD to see you back on the BOBBER!!! Even though all or most bikes are enjoyable to ride, the BOBBER is enjoyable and makes everyone look good!
Hi Stu, greetings from Canada. I agree that rack looks great. It transforms and even, to my eye, saves that bike which had looked unfinished before.
Fantastic step by step tutorial... Very well done my friend
I've ordered a Bonneville Speedmaster and will be part-exing my GS, and I'm already starting to talk like Stuart and can't wait to start a new motorcycling chapter at aged 62!
…nerve “racking” drill scenes… was on the edge of my seat. Thanks for sharing Mr F. Nice vid despite your sparse security arrangements.

Very useful video as it shows how to put holes into your Mud guard and attached a rack. Thank you
Bye Stuart 🙂🏴

Thanks for great inspiration for one of The Bobber Vlog's next projects! Will be building something similar soon😉😉
good idear using tape, never thought of this, useful for putting front number plate on the classic.
Accurate and considerate fitment, my granny could do this if she followed your instructions!
Bloody hell, I'm just outside Bath and I love my bobber to bits but that's a long long way on the 10mm of suspension we get! 🤣
Another quality piece of kit !
Well described installation Stuart
Great rack indeed enhances the look of the bike too........
Excellent video Stuart. That rack seems to be just about the perfect design. Thanks. Cheers. 🏍👍🇨🇦
Another good informative video, I love the look of the Triumph Bobber and the rack really compliments the bike.
Very nice work. Looks great.
Love that rack and how it looks and useful it is!!!
Absolutely cracked up with line about cutting back on your underwear cleaning bill 😂😂 😂 classic stu😂😂😂😂
So many good looking bikes and Motone treats maybe there's a calendar in the making or some nice screen savers. : )
Stu. Love your vids as I do (and I can see your window from my Dad's house on the South Bank), this reminds me of why, back in the 70's - and until now, I decided that Japanese technology was for me. Yet another cracking video as always
Well Done 👍🏻

Thanks for the informative video as usual!
Nicely done Stuart.
You made that look so good easy Stuart. I wish I lived next door to you 😉
Awesome! I just need the bike now 😉
Brilliant video as always Stuart, very informative of procedures needed for the drilling of shiny paintwork and that’s a mighty fine rack by the way 😃👍🏻
My advice would be to drink at least 6 pints of lager before attempting to do the drilling part of the fitting.
'Perfectionist' is the word which gets shame in front of you. You are way over it. I admire your attitude towards those tiny little details. Keep it up.
Yes! Thank you!
Good video uncle Stu even though I don't have a triumph
"Underwear cleaning bill" that made me lol and made me fluctuate 😆🤣😂 dry humor 🤣
Ah memories of Pifco, Ronco and Victor Kiam (he bought the company). I got sent to Iraq with the RAF. It was rubbish. This is a far nicer rack. Thankyou sir.
Nice one Stuart, Motone have a sure fire winner here...

You remind me of Doctor Rod on used bike heaven!
Dumb question time uncle Stu. Once fitted, is there any risk of the tire bottoming out on the nuts when going over a big bump?
No None at all!
Who cares about those nuts, I'd be more concerned about my own. lol
I love my 04 speedmaster, bobber looks cool but speedmaster seems more practical
Thanks Stu.
While the strap mounts under are nice i still prefer the mount from Hepco and Becker, fits under the seat and doesn't require any drilling!
it will also snap your chassis if you overload it.
@@stuartfillingham maybe, hasn't happened yet and i did a 4k mile trip around the EU last summer, working well! Plus i'd argue it looks better!
Nicely done
Touring on that bobber you will need panniers that will hold 2 Jerry Cans for spare fuel as the tank is too small for serious mile munching, appart from that its a great looking bike
That bobber is all set for a tour 👍.
I built my own rack last summer. It worked fine but if you load to far forward, you get quite a lot of nudging from the luggage load hitting your back.
Eyup lad,
Good vid, been looking for a rack for vtx1800 think you may have solved my quest.Thank you
Great review. I now want one and I dont even own a motorcycle!....
I bought a 17 used from a dealership, the previous owner really did a great job doing the Cat , Fox shock , mini apes and on and on, however he even did the Corbin seat and here is where my question lyes . Any reason why this wouldn't work on a recent year Speedmaster with the pillion seat removed?
Great stuff as always! As I have been accustomed to women approaching me with a cloudlike veil in their eye´s in let´s say restaurants, just because I ordered a stew. Hi Stuart saw vid Triumph Bonneville Bobber Motone finally drops the H bomb Full Hpipe Cat delete. After fitting will the bike fail an MOT if Cat removed?
What weight would you say it okay for the mounted rack?
Definitely one of K-Tel's better products ! Looks really smart !
Great video! I'm thinking of getting this, would it be possible for you to add some pictures showing the profile of the bike so I can get an idea of what the profile of the bike will look like with the rack on? I've scoured the internet everywhere but not managed to find any yet. Cheers

No need Alan wax oil will creep around to the back fasteners. Its magic, far more useful and effective than that ACF50 rubbish!
Will a new monoshock fix the bottom of my seat hitt the top of the luggage wrack?
Great Rack ! Can a useful Triumph T-100 rack and passenger backrest unit be created, please !? I would drill my fender for it. This rack design is great ! 👍
Thanks for that video, I am very close to pulling the trigger on buying a 2019 bobber.
Would that black touch-up paint be good enough to paint the stainless steel bolt heads and washer, so that they are also black, or would it peal off
Stu, I usually don't like the design of a lot of motorbike racks, but this is really nice, looks great. Shame I have an Interceptor!
I hope your Interceptor never heard that crack.. it would be heartbroken. 😭
So can we sit a person on that rack with a cushion or not?
Nice, only CACTUS doesn’t seem to work for the moment, at least from Germoney and via iPhone. Will check later and keep ya posted. Ride safely
unable to find this on either the UK or American sites. Anyone know where I can find it?
great video also!
Yikes 😮 Great video for the brave at heart !
do you have bags for it yet?
I would also dab paint on the interior of the holes to ward of rust ,noting worse than taking of your rack and finding your mudguard rusting to hell
Thanks Stuart, I've now got to buy a Bobber black and a load of Motone accessories. 🙄
Uncle stu ... Please make review on fog lamps for interceptor 650
Do you see any issues mounting this to a RE 350 Classic?
yes, wrong profile.
the cactus discount code wont work? cheers
Love it
Do you still have the bobber?
But how to install foot rest
will Motone be producing a a version for the Royal Enfield Interceptor?
Are you referring to the good people at Ronco Stu? :-P
Ha yeah!
Up early Stu !!
My '15 T100 could use a nice rack like that one.
Got rid of my bobber so uncomfortable on even short journeys so bought an Enfield so much better
Mr. Stuart Sir, can a person sit on the rack? :D you liked my comment, but I still have questions :D
Great bars, nice clock. The racks looks the part and obviously works well. Have you ever considered a sissy bar?
Right! Where's mi wallet. I reckon that'll fit on my Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber.
Finally!!
greattttttttttt
Sphinctorial. 😂😂😂😂😂
or you know, buy a speedmaster... :)
Tonto's Saddlebags!!
Stopping for gas every 100 miles seems like a bitch and a half.
