Hello Richard, what a fantastic little piece of kit perfect for what your dad loved doig I'm so sorry that he passed away but at least you managed to get a clip of him before he sadly left us but he will watch over you when you are using his great little fergie
This came up today good to watch your Dad Again I recall watching it about 6 yrs ago. Love it watching your Dad & the old Fergie. We use to have one on the farm we sold back in 1953. That was long long ago. They were a hot item. They sure don't make tractors like they use too
When I was a kid in the 80s my Dad was Head of Agriculture at a farming college. I was obsessed with all the tractors, which were a mix of Ford, JDs and MFs... but they also had an ancient grey Fergie - the only thing they used it for was muck scraping, but they kept it working right up to the 90s. First thing I ever drove.
that brings back memories of my grandfather he bought a new Ferguson 20 about fifty years ago they were a nippy tractors in their day do u still have it
I love fergie's, but your right about keeping the kids away while it's working! Ps I amazed that there are any old farmers still left when you think how dangerous everything they did back then was!
Only buy being exposed to this kind of "highly dangerous" machinery, can we make our kids understand the value of common sense and awareness.. Not saying that a 6-8 year old child should be aloud to use the machine, but he needs to see how to do it, without losing a hand or finger..
I have a fergie so I love this. I only ever do slashing with mine. I love how potentially dangerous these machines are because they are from a time when you had to use common sense unlike todays nanny state of guards and stop switches.
That circle saw at the back of the tractor is pure lethal
What a handy bit of kit, would love to get a setup like that, thanks for posting. Practical with just a hint of terror

Great video Richard:) Your Dad looks happy driving the tractor.
What a fantastic bit of equipment and vlog.
Hey! you just cut up my good fence posts, I was going to use those!
There is one of those saw benches at the back of a house I'm going to get it out and working never saw one going before. Looks really handy.
Mind your fingers, it's a dangerous thing
Mind your fingers, it's a dangerous thing
@@thefunkyfarmer it looks a serious bit of machinery would be more bothered about losing half an arm
@@markgilmour1169 yes, I know 2 farmers who've lost fingers from these saws
I've got a cordwood saw that I use behind my 35, works a treat need to be careful with the fingers though!
we had one of those ferguson sawbenches on the back of a super dexta
I have that exact saw my grandpa and I used to saw some with it on his MF65 Diesel
That's a slick buzz saw setup. I have an uncle that has a similar setup except his is pto driven.
Does the bonnet have an extra piece of metal towards the front ? If so, what was it's purpose ?
You can listen to the blade whistle. I have the same old girl, i don't think i would try the saw bench.
Lucky to still have your dad, the tractor same age as myself
Hi Larry. Sadly my dad passed away in May 2016. This is one of the few films i managed to get of him as he was rather camera shy. I'm just glad i did

I'm in USA. I have a TE20 too! Looking to talk to a knowledgeable person on the Lucas distributer. Does it have a dust cover over the points? Thanks
Dave Harr what motor do you have I just bought a te20 and I have the same distributor
Yes mate
‘Fergusson System’ 👍👍👍

i was freaking out the whole time i watched this x'D it was like a horror movie
Great little TEF, it looks like an OD Devonshire registration.
My dad bought this new in 1956 in Bristol so more likely a Gloucestershire plate but then again it might have been sent up from Devon
Thanks for the reply, its a wonderful piece of history and keep up the great videos.
Ferguson TE20 james ff
Nice bit of kit but as you say very dangerous you would want to be fully alert at all times using that.
Defo
Nice piece of equipment
That's a mean bit of kit.
good ol fergy
Why didn't u bring the wheel barrow over instead of ur dad going over to get wood
great fergy!!!
The child should not be anywhere near that saw especially when the farmer is turning his back to get more wood to cut. An accident waiting to happen.

Yes indeed

agree with you there
you can cut a lot of sticks in a day with that i would say
Wow we're lucky with modern tools that's crazy dangerous
the danger level of that saw increases with the stupidity of the operator. Great bit of kit :)
Yes your spot on. Dads been using this saw bench for 60 years
Doesn’t matter how long he’s operated the saw accidents happen to anyone get a chainsaw
