Man, you should do like a 2 hour special covering the Sarko-Mekhanite War or at least covering and explaining all of the SCPs that directly tie into it.
The scary thing about 2406 is the implications of its existence even without the context of the War of the Flesh and the Sarkite/Mekanite conflicts. Viewed completely with no context, its existance implies that there was an ancient civilization that humanity knew nothing about with advanced nuclear engineering capability and the resources to build this thing. It also implies that something that large or powerful actually exists that necessitated the Colossus being built. After all, you don't make something that large without reason, it represents a considerable amount of time, expertise and resources spent that could go towards training and equipping conventional troops. In short, they were powerful, they were rich, and something at least as powerful and rich wanted them dead.
Historically, fascists have tended to build, at least attempt to, build these large and overly costly machines at the cost of other more important factors. I mean, there was no reason for the Maus to exist, other than some pointless duck measuring contest.

The most impressive thing to me, is to make a 93m tall machine out of bronze, and have a weight of only 210 tons. That’s some advanced engineering
Yeah, a main battle tank weighs like 50 tons and is made out of much lighter material. A 93m tall machine made of bronze only weighs 210 tons, equivalent of only 4 tanks? Either the author didn't know enough about what he wrote, or it has anti gravity tech.
This is what happens when children are allowed to write SCPs
That thing's 100% as heavy as a fucking mountain, like come on, at least a few thousand tons.
@@GeraltofRivia22 it did have gravity manipulation capabilities but it no longer has the arm they were housed in
Bad maths... 90 percent of SCP made up lore is just some random bullshit, same as this one, boring shitty bullshit.
Can you imagine how it would shake our world view if such a thing was discovered? For starters, we'd have to face the fact that mankind had fallen from technological greatness once before...
I am not sure which is more unsettling:

2) That you believe that human civilization and tech could have only fallen once before.

I'd probably recheck it's weight, cuz an Abrams is over 70 tons and less than a 20th the size
It should weigh more then 200 tons
Remember, this is not ordinary bronze. It's beryllium bronze, which has magical properties; being way lighter and stronger are some of them.
@@rykazasan beryllium bronze is still more dense than steel. I'm fine with it being lighter than expected due to some anomalous properties, but even if the carapace is mostly hollow, it'd weight something similar to a Tacoma Class Frigate. It'd also have to carry a ridiculous amount of water for the reactor.
@@complexeddrummer Water and radiation shielding. The mere fact that it's carrying a nuclear reactor should make it heavier than any existing tanks.

The iron giant is real 😂
210 tons is really light for a death robot. For example an Abrams tank is about 70 tons and a Union Pacific Big Boy locomotive weighs in at over 600 tons fully loaded.
That's exactly what I was thinking, 😅
So what you're say is it would have had to be extremely thin to only way that much at nearly 100m tall. Also is this from some game or story? Sound like an interesting plot line for something from Matthew Reilly
But bronze is lighter than steel and iron
yeah unless it's completely hollow I would be adding 2 zeroes to that
@@rockgaming36not THAT much lighter 😅

Um they had cameras in the 80s ....

Guillermo Del Toro’s been real quiet since this discovery 🤔
bros gonna get hit with a copyright srike from 1000 BCE
He’s been real quiet since 2016
Pacific Rim theme starts playing:
I see some complaining about the contruct weighing only 210 tonnes, despite the skip's listed elements. Here's the thing, WHY is something made mostly of copper and heavier metals only weighting 210 tons? Let's say both is true...which means somehow the Colossus has reduced its own weight by a massive margin, despite being inert.
210 tons would be extremely light for something of this size! Shockingly light actually.
I was thinking the same thing lol. They think they got us fooled 😂
I'm shocked you think that so much you'll state it confidently as a fact!! I disagree with you, obviously!!
Idk Japan built a 18 meter tall Gundam that can move it's arms and legs it weighs 25tons...but 93 meters is much taller and then if it's a combat device it would be armored and packed with weaponry, plus the equipment for pilots and any payloads...it would be heavy AF and probably not practical even for today's movement technology...bend the knee to walk and the 10000 hydrolics give out🤣
@@kcmill181don’t forget the shielding required for a nuclear reactor as well.
Sup
weirdest part... the pilots died 200 years apart
not really; the 200 years thing is just an approximate date, not the actual years the bodies were there
The date given wasn't the exact dates of death; it was the approximate range of humanity's evolution that the skeletons can be traced to. They would've died close to each other.
@@furiousfinch1587 yeah, I think the weirdest part is the fact that they died inside a giant undamaged mech with a presumably intact skeleton. That meant they died sitting on their chairs for some reason.
@@ashendude3394 Powerful, deadly disease, courtesy of that bitch Yaldabaoth, better known in the fandom as the Devourer, the thing behind Sarkicism and SCP-610.
@@ashendude3394 It's stated in the short the mech "shows extensive signs of combat related damage". If I had to guess, they probably either died directly from trauma caused by the damage, or due to said damage disabling their ventilation system and causing them to slowly pass out from a lack of oxygen and die unconscious.
lol that thing looks way over 210 tons
The maus tank is 188t and its around 7-8 meters tall, this thing is 93, its alot more than 210t
Writers see a kick ass movie (it's Pacific Rim) and be like "I could make that"
Mecha existed before pacific rim, imo this is far cooler too
Imagine this, against the Dragonslayer.
I mean the Dragonslayer would probably win, honestly. The Colossus is very old and has multiple flaws, while the Dragonslayer is very high tech, and little flaws.
@@alargeredlizard3003 In addition, I think the Collossus is only meant to counter the Sarkic cult's horde. As Volgun said, there were flammable and reactive substances that was found in it's weapon. Probably a collossal flamethrower.
Well SCP-5514 was directly based off of 2406, so I’d imagine it would win with it’s more modern amenities (eg. 2406 is powered by a nuclear fission reactor, 5514 uses SCP-037, a miniature star, the pinnacle of nuclear fusion!).
I’m imagining more of the two being used in conjunction in an emergency, with the situation being desperate enough that the Foundation utilizes a restored 2406 (I just love the “Break Out the Museum Piece” trope).
@@alargeredlizard3003 Lets also keep in mind that the controls would be slow. I dont see the Colossus being built at the time for CQC only raising its arms for its flamethrower and gravity weapon.

I would love to watch a entire series about this
How about a whole movie starring Idris Elba and Charlie Hunam
Numidium?
Mighty morphin SCP rangers!
I’m assuming this is the SCP universe connecting to Greek mythology, as this sounds pretty close to a myth they had about a bronze machine called “Talos”
Could this be the Talos that attacked Jason and the Argonauts?
Talos was automated though?? This thing sounds more like a Megazord or Voltron😅
Thought this was connected to the broken god
Talos was a really big Bronze man, not a mecha. This are literally piloted.
I want to see that weapon it used against the Sarcik Titan/monster that was torn and thrown a great distance. You did a great job with that article and voiced it beautifully.
In 2023 they found the EASTER BUNNY eating grass in a park in London.
The first power rangers didn’t make it

Surprised nobody is saying this is an equivalent of a power ranger team's megazord. 6 people were inside it.
While also wearing "unconventional armor" mind you. If the power rangers movie taught me anything, it's that the power rangers have been around since long before the were introduced in the 80s or 90s.
