I owned the GR IIIx for about a year before selling it while the market was hot. Amazing quality of images even SOOC, and I liked that the film simulations were still different than the Fuji models. Really can't beat the size.

What did you replace it with, if at all? yes, i love this camera, i’ve been having a lot of fun with it. i agree; the color science is definitely different from Fuji but still cool they allowed the input of simulations. thank you for watching!

I dumped it along with a Sony A7III and got a Leica MP 240. 🤗

I have such a love hate relationship with this camera. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the compactness and lightweight feel. This is a true single-hand shooter. APSC in this form factor is killer. But the lack of viewfinder kills me sometimes. The screen is passable, but I'm always left wishing it was higher resolution. I've had so many times where the photo looked worse when previewing it on camera then when I pull it onto my computer (I suppose that's better than the other way around though!). The lack of weather sealing is also a huge bummer, especially considering all the people complaining about dust getting onto the sensor (seems like an inevitability). I've had a ton of times where I wanted to use this camera but couldn't because it was raining too hard. Autofocus is also crap compared to other modern cameras. I know snap focus is the preferred shooting method for this camera, but it still feels very counterintuitive for me coming from Fuji and Nikon.
And yet despite it all, this camera tends to produce way better photos than even my X-T4, and I have no excuses not to bring it with me everywhere. I think I'm going to try to rent either an X100V or X100VI for a week just to see if I prefer it over the GR.

wow, thanks for all that input. yes, i heard weather sealing is a big issue with this camera; i haven’t had this camera long enough to know all that. i definitely LOVE the images that this camera products. i hope you get a chance to find one of those Fujis! much love and thanks for watching. 🙏🏼

I picked up the blue urban edition yday, I have an XE4 with 27mm pancake and I love it, but it isn't pocketable, sometimes I don't want to take alot of gear or a bag, I can throw this in my shorts pockets and head out for the day and I get similar quality in a small package.... If they do release a 4 soon, my Gf will have the perfect camera for her handbag when I upgrade (I've given up on fuji releasing a updated x70/80 😒)

not gonna lie, i had to google the urban edition, i didn’t know it was a thing. it looks so cool with that blue ring! yes, the “pocketability” or this camera is another level, with excellent images. thank you for watching!

Nice images! Are those straight out of camera jpegs or did you edit them from raw files?

Thank you! These were edited in LR from the raw images. Thanks for watching :)

Absolutely. As much as I love the images my phone delivers, I've always got my GRIIIx with me - either in my pocket or in a satchel - and there's just something so special about using it. Authenticity.

After being spoiled by the GR ii’s Positive Film color science, I can’t stand the GR iii. GR iii is also much more fragile. Sold it. 60% hate, 40% love.

Oh really? i don’t have experience with the II but surprised to hear that the color science is that different. thanks for watching!
