The name for funeral potatoes came from church members hosting a lunch for the family of the deceased after the funeral was over... people would bring those potato casseroles to feed the crowd ;-) It's very comforting and delicious food! So glad you tried them!
In West Virginia we make “Funeral potatoes” AKA cheesy potatoes often funeral potatoes are made with shredded potatoes here and when it’s “cheesy potatoes” it’s diced potatoes but it’s all same same. Most here never put meat in it other then from the cream of chicken soup put in it… once I put bacon crumbles on top. Even our family friend from Arizona makes it the same way we do here. Ultimately it’s like with anything else it swoon preference and who makes it. Those potatoes are made frequently in West Virginia.
If you're more into a bar environment, Lucky 13 has my favorite burgers in Salt Lake. They're pastrami swiss burger is incredible. Really fun bar too. Also The Cotton Bottom has a pretty famous garlic burger.
Heading to SLC in September (just to walk past Kindigit Designs) but I now know where to eat! I've gotta check the rest of your channel for food in Seattle, Chicago,Dallas NYC and Boston. Part of my round the world trip from Australia
I am totally telling Pete about that Crown Burger and hopefully we will have time to get one during our road trip this spring, that looked sooooooo good!!!
I think Artic Circle has the best fry sauce. We have a burger joint here that used to be a Artic Circle franchise, then the family dropped the franchise, but kept the same menu. And their fry sauce is awesome.
New here? Check out our other food tours, like this one in Nashville: th-cam.com/video/mJycM9yNEPE/w-d-xo.html

Oh nice! Sounds like you have an amazing trip planned. Hope you have a great time!
The bacon cheeseburger looks good 🥳
It was really good!
You needed to buy that "Good Loo Guide" before your trip to London! haha

You should! They have drive-thrus!
I hope you were able to make it to Crown Burgers. So good! Fry sauce...
I ate at that first place! I also went to a restaurant (quite a fancy one) that had the best cajun shrimp ive ever tasted..a long way from the sea!
Tradition was really good! Cajun shrimp sounds good too.
There are NO Cajun restaurants outside of south Louisiana. Trust me...I am a native from there.
You sure that was a milkshake and not just ice cream? 😂
That's the way shakes are around here.
I mean, almost. 😆 They use less milk in them.

On state st and fort union.
Best burger in Utah is Lucky 13
The only difference between the mini iceberg shake and the regular is the height of the ice cream above the rim
Some folks eat to live, I live to eat.
Agreed.
Never had corn flakes on funeral papas 🤔
Only fitting sirens going off...lol
The Bayou
What about Mumbai house is the best Indian food in Utah
Uh...I can sense that these two folks have no clue as the what is good food.
Ketchup, mayonnaise, and seasonings. I love Iceberg, I hate the lines.
I got sick there
Thats not thousand island thats fry sauce
Signature Fry Sauce …. not thousand island dressing…
Did you really call it thousand island?
Udah🤒🤮😷
So basically this city is not known for fine dining... got it
I mean, they have some nice restaurants, but probably not the food they're known for.
Absolutely right. I live here and the diversity in food sucks balls.
There's great food all over the area.
