    Orthrus hunting at spire sites is the best way to make money. You don't need a lot to get started, just go over to a maelstorm system to get your caustic launcher, then load your ship full of hull reinforcements and AX mult-cannons. You'll be making about a billion every 1-2 hours depending on how many people are there and how efficent you're being. You can specialized your ship later.

      I totally get that killing Thargoids is a brilliant way to make credits quickly. It's the main reason why I have billions on multiple accounts. Going to Spire site is also something I've done with my community. I've noticed most CMDRs haven't noticed that my channel is for new players and may not be ready for Thargoid hunting and so I make videos to help them get started doing different things and giving them a engineer-less ship builds to do said things before they start engineering if they so choose. There is no real right or wrong way to play this game which is why I love this game.

    Great video, thanks for keeping this game alive! Id like to share with you a small tip when in super-cruise. It looked like you were manually setting your throttle to 75%? If you have any buttons left, You can actually assign a button to set your throttle so that its an immediate and accurate throttling. You can find this option in ship controls>Flight Throttle (Double check which control you map as the game also allows you to set NEGATIVE 75% which will leave flying into whatever is in front of you). o7 cmdr

    I'm a newb. Been playing only a few weeks now. I did buy the "Dolphin" and made it pure passenger, Luxury and 1rst class. I named it the "Admiral Akbar". Getting high profile passengers, it's nice to be able to avoid interdictions and move fast to avoid scans, which most "rich" and/or high value passengers want. Also getting to the destinations quick, then leaving for the next destination.
    Yes usually a general or criminal mastermind. 😆
    Anyways, I've done some trade runs, I'm at "Merchant" rank now. Though I have been leery of the pirate interdictions. That's what's been holding me back to do the big full trade runs.
    Your tips here are quite helpful! Some things I've figured out on my own like having supercruise assist activated but aim slightly away until close enough for it to kick in, to max speed until then.

    Nice video but I missed info on the BEST pair of systems to trade between - after all, if you are going to do some intensive trading. it is probably worth a longish journey at the start and end of the trading session. The distance of the system from its sun make more of difference than I had expected, even in super-cruise that travel time adds to the round-trip time (far more than the distance travelled BETWEEN suns - as long as you only need the one jump).

    • @KreeKree
      @KreeKree  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The best system to trade between really depend on the market at the time because it's always changing based off what state the system is in (war, famin ect) and what other CMDR's are trading as well so it varies from system to system which is why it's helpful to use the INARA website to help you decide. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to help. See you out there

    Supercruise Trick: don't align, full speed, if you reach the 7 second go ahead and now look at the distance, if you are UNDER 4Ls, FULL SPEED and immediately align with target. You get the feeling of overshooting, but this isn't. Needs a bit of training but fits nice.

    This is how I got my first few mil credits in Elite. I wouldn't trade for billions though. With this method you would have to grind for 90-100 hours to get a fleet carrier for example, assuming you keep finding ~50m/hr routes. Exobiology in unexplored systems can easily net you >200m/hr once you get enough credits to fully outfit a DBX/AspX/Conda for jump range, but I guess that's assuming that you were able to purchase Odyssey without having some kind of moral crisis.

    • @KreeKree
      @KreeKree  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's fair, it's certainly possible especially if you buy and outfit bigger and bigger ships. I personally like to change it up so I don't get bored. Oh yes and $50mil trade routes and the exo bio is super lucrative. Yeah I got Oddysee in alpha to stream it so others could what it was like and watch it's developmental processes.

I can do about 4 courses in an hour so that means I get about 80 mil per hour. This might seem like a really good way of making money but it gets really boring really fast. Hey! nice channel & video! I wish you sucess! I have tips to futher reduce time in trade routes that may interest you. To do this you will abuse supercruise Assist and docking computer. Here the script:
    1 - After plaining the trade route by Inara an go the first loop. SAVE the STATIONS by galaxy map and FAVORITE them. this saves loading screens and station selection every time you arrive in your destination system.
    2 - It is possible to arrive at the stations with the entrance RIGHT in front of you. To do this, during the supercruise, the destination icon on the ship's panel must display the toast rack. Maneuver the ship until the icon is in the right position. (Pro tip: if you can't find the toast rack at any given time, do a deliberate leap of shame and the icon will invert.)
    3 - Use the supercruise assist trick! It's fun and useful!
    4 - Enter the station ASAP and activate the Docking pc right AFTER past the toast rack to avoid elusive landing pads.

    The T6 tricked out carries between 100 - 120 tons and it's a bigger ship than the Dolphin. Your build shows a capacity of 76 tons. (32+16+16+4+4+4).

  • @aoshinn
    @aoshinn ปีที่แล้ว

    Giving the actual state of the game and the last 2 years, I'd say trading won't get you very far in credits as fast as you claim. If you get a gold/tritium rush community goal as we did months ago, that would be true, but normally we're looking around 70-80mil per hour max using a full 790T cargo T9 (I think it's the biggest haul possible?). That''s pretty low when compared with the 200 mil of Robigo passenger runs or the 300mil per hour of exobio billionaires boulevard which also is way safer since there are no pirates interested in your botanical endeavors.
    If you like trading and trucking, absolutely go for it, it's an amazing experience. That said, it is not even close to being the safest and fastest way to make billions of credits and you will have to deal with pirates, slower ships, low range jumps and repeating the same thing for hours on end.

    Here is a tip : i am currently at ceos and i am doing passenger missions to suris atomosphre in sothis , in a T7 each trip i am making 6 to 8mil per run.
    from ceos to sothis is only 8 to 9 ly jump range and is only 1,700Ls from the main star. this is just taking all the non wanted passengers, you could make more taking the wated passengers.
    if you do just fly over 200mps through the mail slot this will stop you from being scanned. " fly from inside the ring to line up with mail slot befor dropping from super cruz"

    This is what I did when I started with the game, way back in the day. Loop routing. FDev kinda screwed loop routing a while back when they put in market equalization. That is, as supply dwindles, the cost goes up, just like real life. What's worse is that the sell prices go down at the destination station the more they have in stock, so as you sell, your profits go down. This was why the old timers switched to "rares". There, the price on both sides of the transaction remains the same. Super cheap at the source station, and provided you go far enough away, super expensive at the sell station. I remember buying things for 1200/u and selling them for 120,000+/u. The issue being that there was only ever a fixed amount you could buy(but we will get to a way to solve that in a sec). So, theoretically, you could make 100k per unit, but the number of units for sale is limited. Now this math changes when you have a fleet carrier. You can jump your carrier to say, right next to hutton orbital, with you on it, and buy all the mugs and gin they have available, fly to your carrier and offload it to the carrier, this will reset the market and there will be more available(after the short timer runs down). Fill the carrier with rares and jump 500-1200 ly away to get the best price. Makes a ton of money but is tedious.
    A better way, that still works last I checked, is bounty stacking. Go to a starsystem with a bounty bonus(2 of the PP powers up bounties in controlled systems, so bounties pay significantly more) then cycle through the minor powers in the job list and take pirate kill missions. You probably also should pick a system that is aligned to the major power that you wish to serve. For example if you are trying to unlock the corvette, you should pick a system that is under federal control. According to powerplay, not the system statistics, confusingly they can be controlled by Zachary Hudson, but all the minor factions in system can be imps, meaning you would get the bounty bonus from the federal power, but you would actually be increasing reputation with the imperials. At any rate so long as the system is controlled by Zachary Hudson or Arissa Lavigny-Duval you will get the passive bounty bonus(you don't have to pledge to get it and you get it even if you are pledged to another power) I typically see missions from a few of the minor factions for kill 35 of 'specific pirate faction' for 30-50 million. As long as you take missions from different minor factions, the missions stack. So 4 missions of 35 kills for a specific pirate faction=35 kills for about 120 million + any bounties on the ships(which is typically a lot). 200 million per set of missions isn't that hard to do. I've picked up a few billion credits in an afternoon.
    The other go to for making huge credits is a little more boring, especially if you haven't unlocked/leveled engineers, but is still doable. That is the robigo to sothis passenger missions. 30 mil a trip/ 4 jumps total(engineered) or 8 jumps total (unengineered). I would recommend a python and using the smaller outpost in robigo, as a lot of the passengers will be wanted and you get scanned at the larger starport. Pick up passengers, fly to sothis, scan beacon, return, repeat. Easy, but boring. I really wish they would bring back long range smuggling, that would be fun to do again.

    • @KreeKree
      @KreeKree  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, it was easier back then to trade and even though it has changed, it's definitely still achievable to reach billions doing trade, it's the same with bounty stacking and Robigo passenger missions. This is one of the things that I love about Elite, the fact that there are so many avenues you can go down to reach billions doing different things. Obviously trade is just one of many options and there is more than one way to do something based off your play style. Your explanations are super handy, especially for new CMDR's so thank you for sharing 😊 o7

    • @xaero5150
      @xaero5150 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KreeKree It was certainly not easier in the old days, lol. Especially not during the patch from hell. Trading was impossible back then. It was either the patch where they introduced engineering, or the patch right after. Those were some dark times. A single unit of cargo and it would autospawn an anaconda that could one shot any ship in the game that would interdict you with an escape target that spawned behind your ship. It was so bad FDev resurrected all the ships and credited back all the rebuys for the entire patch.
      They have changed so much since the beginning. My first memory is fighting an anaconda at a high res for about an hour (in a sidewinder) and finally killing it to get 359k credits (So I could foolishly purchase a viper mk4 instead of a cobra) . Working for literal hours for 5 million credits. I just killed a ship last night and got 1.8 million for a single ship.
      I remember trying loop routes between Xuangu and Kalana since neither station was more than 20 ls from the main star, so I couldn't get interdicted. Nowadays you just engineer the bejesus out of a combat python with prismatics and melt anyone that dares to try and take your stuff.

    Another reccy is i'd dump the shield generator too in favour of more cargo. If you come across pirates (which you likely wont) youre dead anyway. Just cop it on the chin. Plus makes more room for comoditites! Since you have laning asisstance you wont even need to worry about damage. If you dump the landing asisstance too and learn to fly and land at full speed (easier with a controler or HOTAS) youll shave more seconds off your flight. But obvs this is trickier and for new players the landing assist is waaay eaiser to deal with

    And how many (hundred) times in that hour you got interdicted by NPC pirates hauling as valuable good as gold? :P And I suggest to all who managed to survive hauling such cargo to buy Type-7 on money you make, that has way better cargo capacity than that "space-bus". Though then you cant anymore land on any other than large pads. But with Type-7 you have slight chance to survive pirate interdictions. Unlike Type-9, that has awesome cargo capacity, but maneuvaribility of a static moon. Unfortunately. So you gotta have some skill to use it as a trader. But when you got those skills, get it!

    • @KreeKree
      @KreeKree  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I was interdicted once by a pirate but they weren't able to drop me out of supercruise so it was an easy getaway. The Type-7 is a better ship for cargo capacity and so are many other ships. I simply use a small ship like a Dolphin for those with a small budget. As you trade and make money you can get bigger and better ships and the bonus credits will snowball into millions faster and faster. I agree the Type-9 is great for cargo and yes definitely has the maneuverability of a confused cow especially without engineering and skill.

      @@KreeKree ... even WITH engineering and skill! :P :D But then again, to a point when you "Elite enough" to afford something like Type-9, none of us isn't anymore doing hauling mussions, or trading as is. As there's much better, faster and easier methods to make money with big ships. I preferred deep core mining. And even bounty hunting over trading. Now that I think of it, I think I haven't done basic trading after I got my trade Elite rank done!? :D So in that sence, Type-9 is kinda obsolete ship. Also because I do have Cutter also. Yet I have saved my Type-9, as I also powerplay, and Type-9 is excellent for hauling shitload of those powerplay thingies where-ever.

      @timppaUT ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KreeKree Sure, I also have option to do trade, but I find it a bit pointless if theres no more even rank gain for it to me. As I could make couple of hundred million credits to do couple of hours mining. On that same time with basic trading (not including rare commodities) it would very hard to do even close same amount of money. At least with same efford, as finding that perfect trade route would require to spend good amount of time on some 3rd party ED app to find such route. With mining it's only necessary to check out where's nearest station that pays most of those mined products.

    15 mins beam mining Platinum and pop to nearest Boom system will net you 270,000 per Ton.
    Osmium missions also around 30- 50 tons, nets around 3-4 million each mission. Sometimes Osmium will fetch 170,000cr per ton also.
    A Type10 has a 256 cargo slot. You can fill it with Platinum in 20 mins easy. Painite is worthless now. Core mining is fun, put takes longer.
    Just two med mining lasers. Collectors and refinery, with a prospector controller. Pick overlapping Platinium hotspots is real quick mining.
    30 - 60% platinum]]]]]]]]]] roids a plenty.
    150 Million to 250 million every couple of hours is steady income. No bother from ships at some Spots, then 1 or 2 jumps to sell it.
    A small ship with small refinery and collector and 1 Mining laser can start you off. A quick run, flog it. Then get a bigger ship, few more runs. Then work your way up to a med then Large ship within 1 play session, easy.
    Election time at some systems will have BLACK BOX retrieve missions. You can stack them, and with a collector controller, scoop up 6 or 7 per run will get you a few creds. To help mix it up a bit, to stop any boredom.
    Unless you're getting a Carrier, a couple of billions is enough in this game.

    I found this game needlessly overly complicated! Always looking for the correct button to push i find the game very stressful, it's really bad in an emergency! Too many times as soon as i have over a certain amount i get jumped by far better ships as they take me out of warp with multiple hits i can't defend against If i try to turn to fight them as a last resort i always find they are faster, better armed and armoured than me. After the 5th time i just shut the game off just thoughly disappointed. The game is terrible trying to play with no money i have deleted my 2 accounts. The game looks good and looks fun until i remember all the stress and grief i went thru nothing fun about the game! It's on the same level as working at a place where your getting yelled at by customers and your boss and co-workers all at the same time. That kind of stress. I'm not sure how you can carry that much and not get jumped by groups of ships. Or since you have so much money your probably fast enough you don't have to worry about things like that. unfortunately, as Inara is no longer supporting legacy game version (Frontier split the game into two versions since the game update 14) and thus there is not possible to link console game accounts anymore. As there are almost no data updates for the Legacy game version (making many tools on Inara barely usable for Legacy) and as supporting both game versions require a huge amount of work, I needed to make this hard decision.
      But, you can transfer your console commander to PC via Frontier's official console transfer portal with all your progress and link the PC account instead (you will get a free game copy during the transfer, too). Alternatively, there can be some streaming services like GeForce Now used, if you have no PC for playing the game. :)

      I remember a few years ago you could make that mining LTDs (Low Temperature Diamonds) or VOs (Void Opals) but they were sadly nerfed. There is still a possibility to mine your way, but it depends on the market and last I checked, Musgravite was selling for over $400k a unit. Another alternative is $50mil trade missions or killing Thargoids, The Orthrus is probably your best bet because they don't fight back but they will only caustically fart on you and try to leave quickly so your best bet is to use non-guardian weapons (because they degrade them quickly) to kill them quickly and get $40mil a pop. I hope this helps o7
