Hey guys! Hope this video answers some of the questions folks have been asking!
I gloss over a few things for the sake of brevity in this video, so feel free to ask away of you'd like to know about anything in more detail.
Nothing to say, except for as an old Gen-Xer, these "could have been, Panavision" trailers are a lot of fun to watch. Seeing the alternate takes on Chewbaca, Yoda, and even Worf (I don't know if you did the Star Trek NG ones), it all brings a smile to my face.
How far back does this go? Could you make a "Star Wars alt-trailer" "filmed" in the 30s? What about a "Star Wars" stage production that would have been show in Ford's Theater in Washington DC in April 1865? Or a "Star Wars" stage production that was performed in Ancient Athens as a Greek Tragedy?
You know, the Beatles in the late 60s were huge Tolkien/LOTR fans. They wanted to make a LOTR movie, with Paul as Frodo, Ringo as Sam, John as Gollum, and George as Gandalf.
But these are all just ideas. What you are making now is a lot of fun to watch.
@@jeffreyharris3440 Anything's possible! "Time travel" videos are definitely something I plan to explore in the future
Thanks. This was really cool. 👍
I have an original property that takes place in 1961, could you please contact me so we can see if you can put together a trailer for it? I have permission from the heir of the actor I want used for the main character. I'm producing a comic book series for it, I finished two issues and underway on the third but having one of these gorgeous retro trailers for it will make it so much easier to shop around.
Im using midjourney and im having trouble getting exactly what i want in my pictures. Any tips for what keywords to put in the prompts? Can you give an example, like the Darth Vader image you have for your empire strikes back video, what were the exact prompts you used to get that image?
Came in with no questions.
Came out with a galaxy of answers🤯
"...and Debbie Reynolds as Princess Leia."
I saw what you did there.👌
Thanks for the crash course!👏
And the trailer is narrated by an AI voice named "Harrison."
...Okay, that was prob'ly just a co-winky-dink, but still...! 😉😁
That is her Mom.
@@ALLROY240
That was what they saw them do. 😉
Burnt Reynolds daughter. Cool!
@@cyrollan Lol, no, Debbie Reynolds was 4 years older than Burt Reynolds.
Dude, how cool of you to show people how you make these! Thanks for educating us on what's possible with generative AI. You rock, man.
I would like to see the Jetsons as real humans not a cartoon
"Meet George Jetson."
Yeah!!!!!!
Starring Bill Burr
That would be dope
Flint stones?
These videos are trippy. So familiar, yet the 1950's style aesthetic, props, and everything is just wild. Clearly to me, I can tell it's AI generated but I feel like I could show this to my grandparents and maybe even my parents and trick them into thinking Star Wars was actually a remake of an older film. Good stuff man.
Absolutely. Dream-like quality.
This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. These old trailers are so impressive. I would definitely watch a whole movie turned 1950s panavision.
Thanks so much for taking the time to explain how it's done. All of these AI videos have been cropping up in my TH-cam feed, and I always wondered what was actually involved in creating one. Really interesting.
Very cool. I'd been watching a ton of Panavision videos and wondered about the process. This was perfect.
So so fascinating. Beautiful executions! Thanks for sharing these insights and links.
Thanks for the quick explanation. I've been loving these trailers, and was curious how they were generated. Keep it up!!
Fascinating. Thanks for sharing the process. There's a lot of understandable concern and even panic out there but this shows how much creative work you still need to do to achieve the vision you are tyring to get across.
This is not very much work. 20 years ago, this would have required a big team and months of work, and wouldn't look this good.
Debbie Reynolds as Princess Leia 👌
Debbie Reynolds as Princess Leia - That's a nice touch using Carry Fisher's mom! 😂😂😂
I have been really enjoying your videos. It was fascinating to see the behind-the-scenes.
Thank you for your tutorial. Enjoyed your formula or insight on how you brought it all together!!
This is amazingly generous of you!...Utter mensch!. Your videos are insanely good.
These videos are so fun. Really clever twist! And thanks for the how-to, it all seems like it would be fun to play with.
That is, by far, the best Star Wars !950's Super Panavision 70 I've seen!
Up until a while ago, I thought these videos were generated by AI as a whole. Now that I realize what hell of a work goes into the making, I have a total new respect for them.
Now I know how WEEZER did the Buddy Holly video!! 🤣
fun fact: the video is in the Windows 95 disk.
@@FocusKnob that's where I first saw it! Also the Edie Brickell video "Good Times." Those were the days when computer companies were fun.
Great work bro! To be able to prompt scenes that stitch together into a cohesive narrative that is emotive unlike a lot of others I’ve seen speaks a lot to your vision and skillset - including the patience to pull it off is remarkable. You are a true artist.
These videos are great. I appreciate you showing how they are created. I love the Debbie Reynolds touch.
I did wonder if there was a lot of trial and error with this stuff and this confirms it. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for sharing your creative process with us! As some other people have said below, I feel that this really proves the added value of a human designer who has integrated AI tools into their workflow. I'll be following to keep up with your work, and am definitely interested in any other process videos you would have to share. Cheers!
You are like the magician who reveals their secrets. This was very kind of you. Thank you.
Thank you! I've been wondering how people were getting these crazy videos going, and it truly feels like most of these people that do these videos are rather protective of the methods.
So it is very appreciated you sharing your knowledge!
Clear and concise- thanks for sharing your “secret sauce”. I have really enjoyed all your Panavision clips.
Man id love to watch a full feature length movie in this art style.
Thank you for making this. I have been seeing on my feed lots of suggestions about this Panavision 1950s movie trailers. I never clicked on them thinking that there probably were 1950s versions of modern movies. I decided to watch one of them and I was confused. Thank you for clarifying how these are made.
Thank you for taking us through the process. I love the 50s look. Amazing
Amazing work! Your videos are incredible and this tutorial is perfect! Thank you! 🙌
These are great! Thanks for the behind the scenes look.
How generous to share your technique. Much appreciated. Amazing videos 👏👏👏
Holy smokes batman! That was an incredible insight, quick and to the point and INSPIRING for me to try it! Thank you!
Stunning work. This is fabulous work!
This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing!
Poor AI. It still can't figure out the number of arms, hands and fingers that humans have. I love Patrick's work. It is very entertaining.
This type of A. I. film making is great new stuff. i think it's the future of film making. Keep em' coming. thanks
This "future" will turn dystopian quickly when real creatives are replaced with derivative ai generated stuff.
@@mrmatt6740 if the creatives are so irreplaceable, then the AI wont be able to replace them. Or maybe the creatives will stop being such sticks in the mud and just accept, the cat is out of the bag, and start using the tools that were developed to help not hinder their creative flow.
Fascinating, thanks. Great that you can use your existing skillset and get great results
I look forward to you color grade tutorial for the vintage look :) Thank you for your content!
Awesome tutorial and final output!
Great, Patrick. Good to see that it still takesold fashioned spint and polish to get the final RESULT.
I've been seeing these videos and I've literally wondered how they're being made. THANKS for this video explaining. It's exactly what I thought - AI.
Seriously amazing! You rock for sharing your expertise and educating the masses. Thank you!!
Thank you! This was great I subscribed for more behind the scenes❤
Awesome demo! Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks! One of the main issues with AI image and video generation now is that it takes a lot of iterations before it produces what you want, but I think as the language models and AI training improves, this will become better.
Really cool, these are very good. I hope you make some more! Cheers
Awesome you provide your steps. Love these things. Thanks for sharing.
Dude, your a God!!I love your work. I was a kid in the 70’s and I remember movie ads from the 50’s that captured dead on
Well done! Thanks for sharing the tips.
I love the cast of 1950s Star Wars!
Really enjoyed watching some of these! It is moreish!! THX
Answers a lot of questions. These are really good...I'd watch them if they were real movies for sure! Thanks!
Thanks for telling us how you did this. Great work
Nice work. It's essentially an AI art collage. If multiple audio AI and video AI engines merged, they could theoretically do everything in almost one click, but arguably the best result and direction could still come down to a person selecting the required elements by hand
I think a collage is an excellent analogy
Wow, I really wondered how these were made. I think this is a good application of AI generated content. Well done, you're very talented.
Nice touch that you let Carrie Fisher's mother Debbie Reynolds play Leia.
Great video and inspiring I can’t wait to get started.
This was amazing! Do more tips and trick every once in a while! Fun to watch the sausage being made!
this is so great! You have a fun job
This is awesome. We need more breakdowns!
Thanks for this. You’ve inspired me. Make more of these vids, please. Much appreciated.
The Starcraft one was pretty good. I would watch a feature length AI film of Starcraft, even if it looks like a hokey sci fi flick.
Fantastic... so cool to learn about how A.I. works in this aspect.
Thanx for sharing !!!
Thanks so much for this man! I really wanted to try this out
I love these 1950s Panavision-style videos.....its pure art
I've been wondering for a while how these were made/what apps were used and why so may channels are copying/producing the same type of thing. Thanks so much for the info! I have used Midjourney a lot to make covers, reels and character images for my first sci-fi novel. This will be great!
This is really cool!
Thank you for the explanation
Well done! Thanks for sharing!
"and Debbie Reynolds as Princess Leah" Too perfect! I think the only thing that looked out of place was the light saber. I am trying to remember how they would have done such a thing in the '50s and what it would have looked like. I'm guessing sticks with florescent paint and blacklights.
Thank you for this video, I do not make videos but I have been curious about how it is done, they are so awesome
Great ! I’m looking to build movie ideas as these “AI Storyboards”.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Fantastic job. They are great. I would love to see someone actually make a movie like this.
Fantastic job in these videos! Great work! Incredible likeness to the actors that starred in these movies. You mentioned in your video that you start with a baseline script of what AI spits out and then you augment from there. My question is how much do you change your scripts as they are all extremely well written. Cheers.
amazing content!!! really cool stuff
Incredible. Thank you for sharing
The Death Star... 🤣🤣🤣 Odysee 2001 meets LEGO. I just love it! ♥
keep going with this story. this sounds very promising. good vs evil, always a banger.
Loved it! And love the videos!
I am unable to comprehend how this is possible.
Brilliant and many thanks!
Really neat with Debbie's casting. I'm sure Carey cracked a smile at that one.
The Harrison voice sounds as cool and calming as if he is narrating Police Squad and everything you see is absolutely normal.
great video. I've wanted to understand the process and this is perfect.
Thanks a lot! I've been curious about how these are made, since they've kind of been "spamming" my TH-cam recommendations 😄
Thanks for sharing the details on how you make them. I am wondering about a complete reversal of thought. What if you take a few B&W classics like Citizen Kane, Casablanca, etc. and make them look like they were filmed in the current time?
VERY IMPRESSIVE THANKS. I am definitely going to give it a go :)
Fascinating! Thanks, and great channel!
Hello Patrick, congrats for the video. I'm *totally* new to all this so my question might sound silly, sorry! Is there a way to make a trailer using my own image, based on pics or footage? Thank you!
These are absolutely fantastic
Thats a very beautiful and inspiring tutorial. I really appreciate it. How did you manage to create that special 50s radio sound in the voice over? It sounds so realistic.
sick, love learning new stuff!
These are shockingly cool.
Thanks for sharing this!
Actually Debbie Reynolds was Carrie Fisher's Mom.
I was born in 1950, I was an original Trekkie and newspaper cartoonist in Utah. Thanks Pat for your insights.
Well done. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy your work its very good please keep doing it very classy and good
great video! super informative.
