They maybe invasive, but they truly are beautiful. I hope he continues his work with these guys and see these become popular to keep in captivity and less out their in the wild. Think a few more people need to get on board to really impact on the wild population. Interesting project.
Day geckos are amazing indeed and I am sure my wife will love 'm too. (Like she has fallen in love with Bob my Spotted Python too) so I think I got that purchase covered!😁
It's a great thing what he's doing. Living in Florida for 2 years I realize how big the reptile invasive population really is. The locals too I see don't appreciate reptile keeper. Like its our fault for the mistakes of a few.
Yes that is something I really want to do. I unexpectantly obtain a Columbian tegu. I had no intention on owning them because of their reputation of being pretty aggressive. But then I saw her and saw how poorly she was care for. The original owners was planning on releasing her because they didn't want her. Now I don't want to completely blame them, though it is their fault for not researching about her. Petco do not bother with identifying proper species which was where she was from. I always enjoy your videos :)
I'm currently the proud momma of a female phelsuma laticauda and 2 eggs. I've never bred reptiles but she was given to me with 2 eggs... o wasn't sure if I was doing things right for the eggs until I saw them moving in the eggs today! I'm so excited!!
The Reptile Channel - HerpersTV then you would have to give up your perfect system for cycling your colubrids via cracking the window open in that room 🤣🤣🤣
Jacksonville sucks, don't move hear, everyone is a bad driver, the children are dumber then rocks so it would be better to homeschool your children. Also 25% of the people I've met throughout my fourteen years of living here are racists and homophobes. Yeah, it's pretty, yeah it never snows, but the people irk me.
HA- I called it! finally heard it from a professional that giant day geckos can be touched. everyone keeps complaining about if you touch them in any way, their skin will fall off...
Its awesome he is working with wild caught invasives, great way to bring in genetic diversity and new morphs without impacting the actual wild populations.
That's a great thing. Making money by actually helping your environment(instead of just going out and removing endangered native species, which is undoubtedly how the original day geckos got here from Madagascar). They look really good too!
I'm torn between a giant day gecko and a crested gecko. I really like the way gd geckos look but I really want to be able to handle the gecko I get. Lol can someone smarter than me shed some light
From what I know crested geckos are great to start out with, neither take up much room due to needing taller enclosures. I've had my crested for a week and I must say he's a little gem. If I were you I'd start off with a crested, easier to obtain in my area and much cheaper.
Please visit Hawaii, you may help yourself to the Day Gecko who refuses to leave my kitchen. I have many in my garden lanai but this guy will not budge from my kitchen :( The outdoor geckos will eat from your hand and love bananas. I have tried to tempt this one with fruit but nothing seems to interest it. I just want to relocate it!
Just a quick question- I just recently purchased my first giant day gecko, and I was wondering how to tell there genders apart? I read about some other geckos but it seems oddly specific to the species, and maybe that’s just my own inexperience. I would be so grateful for anyone who can reply and help me out 🤙🏼

They are awesome. Like I said in my intro, they are very underrated and I think more people should be working them.
they are beautiful and one of the most unique lizards in behavior and intellect
Gotta love carpet pythons GAYE

So effin cute!!
Simply amazing, still find it interesting that these adorable insect-eaters could cause any trouble to the environment.
Mijn kleinzoon heeft ook Baardagamen het zijn prachtige en hele lieve diertjes!
I love day geckos! Giant Day Geckos were the first species of any reptile that I bred in captivity way back in '92!
I started with bullsnakes in '92. Still breeding them. Does this mean we're old, or experienced?
They’re beautiful! Perfect colours that I’d look for.

Such is our curse, but also such is our calling to be constantly working to educate people.

Awesome video
Thank you!

Dude your blowing me away here with your Florida trip!! God I need to move to Florida.
I was thinking the same thing...

True, but I'd be blasting the AC anyway so it'll even out :)

I don't know what about these guys make them some of my favorites
Day geckos are the bomb!

I really like this cages are they DIY?
Wonder if he breeds Klemmeri as well...
I don't think he does at the current moment
You should do an episode about the frilled lizard
I looked into that when I was in Australia. Might be the excuse I need to go back :)
Can they become invasive if two of them are left in the wild? Or five?
The guy who has them not bav can piss off

Thanks for the advice! I'll probably get a crested gecko!

Dose he sell any of his offspring
He does. You can find him on FB
I’m getting a day gecko
Just a quick question- I just recently purchased my first giant day gecko, and I was wondering how to tell there genders apart? I would trade these ugly house geckos we have in South Georgia for the greens . They are so cute.
Can day geckos live with arrow frogs? I know I'm so late to this video😔😔 but I thought my comment just might get seen🤞🤞🤞
There is no evidence that they harm the ecosystem.
Why do people have to morph everything? -.-

Supers are bad for geckos
good
