What is YOUR Favorite Gecko Species?
My fat gargoyle female
Leopard and crested geckos!
Crested all the way!
Gargoyle & the lep gecks (sounds like a band name)
I have a leachie. Love her so much.
"They make clicking sounds" bro they can scream. My wife tried to pick a bit of substrate off the base of ours tail and she scared him. He legit screamed as he ran away.
They are hilarious
That's funny
As an adult gecko?
@@RegenTonnenEnte yeah
I want to see a video of your mixed species tank.
more to come!
@@WickensWickedReptiles We are counting on it. I do wonder if someone could do box turtles, green rough snakes, garters and NC anoles, and a few frogs..They would really need their own room though!
Same. I curious on the frogs
I can hear the complaining about it already. “How dare you” comments will be coming in by the hundreds.
@@dacisky wouldn't the gater snake eat the frogs it's one of their main food sources fork what I knoe
I don't think tokay geckos say TOE -KAY they probably say GO -AWAY
hahahahha!
They also have a different interpretation online. Also, called the "F you!" geckos
as someone who owns a tokay gecko they are amazing. super angry all the time but are great to watch in their enclosure. good eaters as well they hardly refuse meals.
:)
how noisy are they at night?
That is a man not a gecko
hahahhaa!
I have an terribles boa Longicauda enclosure, and it functions very well. So it’s very possible if one provides enough space
Leachies were my bucket-list animal, and I was able to pick one up about four years ago. In my limited experience, they are simply beyond awesome, but they take a lot of effort. It took a long time to really gain her trust, and a leachie's bite is no joke. I got nailed once, and she refused to let go for about half an hour. Nothing I could do but just sit back and watch the blood flow. But it's only been three or four times amid thousands of interactions. If you put in the time, they are very rewarding pets. I'll put in a quick shout-out to Leapin' Leachies powder. Lots of protein, which is great because my leachie won't touch feeder insects.
Mine have never hung on after biting me.
I guess I’m super lucky, our leachie has never barked or even tried to bite. He’s about a year and a half maybe 2yo.
I hope that continues!
I had never thought about how small most geckos are
crazy right!
I'm getting my first leachianus gecko Tuesday, and an super excited!
You are doing so great at posting on TH-cam keep it up
Thank you so much!
Snakes were the first reptile I was introduced to in the wild, and turtles were the second. My sister caught a turtle and was showing it to me.
that's so cool!
The reptile that started my love for reptiles in general was a crested gecko I still have today! I love geckos and have always wanted a chewie! I now have 2 leopard geckos and two cresties and they're rad! But aren't all geckos?! Great vid Adam!
I totally agree!
Yes they are. I have a gargoyle and am planning to get a leo.
I definitely would love to see a full video on the mixed species tank 😍
Had to subtly add sticks & bricks, I love it lol.
I mean, it fits
I was looking for a comment that noticed it too 😂
I love your videos. I've been watching you for a long time. I think your videos are so interesting and informative. Keep up the great work. ❤
Thank you so much!
Tokay geckos are my end goal, I love the process of taming the animal down. I got to hold one at my local expo and fell in love immediately lol
They sure are cool!
I have a juvenile, still taming him down but I do not regret a thing.
It’s always a blast watching your vids
thanks so much!
Currently watching with my not so big crestie 😁🤙
I love Cresties!
Poor Dāv, your favorite dinosaur (like you said) getting bit by a gecko!
6:15 really cool how the light passes through the eye and focuses on a spot like a lens
Man I love me some Tokay Geckos❤
me tooooo!
Wow! Such a great video idea!!;)
Definitely drop the big enclosure video!!😘
some hot redhead gave me this idea
I love how you have a mixed species enclosure with retics, day geckos, and dumpty tree frogs please do a video about this enclosure
Sure Will
❤ yay Thursday!
Thursday baybeeee
I have gekko smithii, green eye geckos. Last year's captive bred babies are all sold, but more on the way for this season!
We love u adam
you're so kind, I love all of you!
I recently got my first leachie and I adore her! Luckily she's a sweetie so far. I also have cresties, Gargoyles, and a Chahoua. Out of all of them, I have to say my cresties have bitten me the most. 😂
that's awesome!!!
LOL! Great story.
Good evening Adam, I hope your week is going awesome, love the video today. I hope you and fiance have a wonderful Thursday and weekend. See you again on Monday
Thank you! You too!
I do love my leachie, but I'll say, it's not so much defensive with them as much as territorial. I'll be grabbing her waterdish and she'll climb down towards my hand getting huffy
adorable little things
One of my leachies' lunged at me when I was about to feed him and he made me drop the food on the floor. I do look where the leachies are before I clean the water bowls.
I LOVE GECKOS!
me too!
I have a Halmahera gecko. He’s pretty good temperament wise, for what he is. I very much enjoy him.
such cool animals!
I like all the geckos. But i when i was in Bali the tokay gecks were everywhere. That sound they make is so cool. Maybe in the future, i will at one to the collection. Thanks for the great video sir!
so loud eh!
They’re is loads of Tokay’s in Thailand too, it’s one of my favourite things about Thailand is all the Geckos.
I have a couple Tokay geckos and a couple Leopard geckos. I’ve always wanted (and will eventually get) a Leachianus gecko. I love your videos!
I love how pretty their eyes are!! I’ve very recently become interested in geckos, im very glad i stumbled on this video!!
Leachies can weigh as much as a squirrel!
I really enjoyed this video. Great job.
Thank you!
My leachie (his name is raisin) is an angel hes only bit me once (i was giving him meds) I think everyone underestimates how LOUD they are. He lives in my bedroom and i swear he sounds like a little demon.
wicked name!
I just got a leachie gecko 2 days ago. She’s around 3 months old so she’s pretty tiny. I can’t wait for her to get bigger! I also have a leopard gecko too
Omg yes, id love to see the mixed reptiles tank. Love your cohab vids. Would be so cool, especially since im planning on getting Day Geckos as well :)
aweosme!
Yes Leachie for the win lol however my girl was sweet as pie, never cage aggressive UNTIL she got a bit bigger than the one in this video. Now she will bite anything that moves in her enclosure…. We’re working on it😅
😁
love watching these, helps me think about the next species i wanna get!!
Glad you're enjoying!
I love my crested and have been considering something a bit bigger like a leachie but the size scares me 😂
they are so cool!
I believe you are what is referred to in the trade as a "Short King". Keep up the great work!
Do you think you could do a video on reptiles that dont need live feed? (Excluding iguanas.) My BTS eats dog food, veggies, fruits, and sometimes i bring home canned snails
Already have, enjoy :)
I had a Tokay bit the crap out of me multiple times
sounds about right
The exchange rate 😂
hahahhaa
cool vid, thanks man
My grandpa was an engineer with NASA and was stationed in Madagascar. My dad and his siblings got to go to school there. I'd love to visit!💙🌻
I currently have a Super Giant Leopard, last I weighed him he was 106g. Pretty sure he has packed some weight on since.
Tokays can actually be really sweet and not hard to tame out as long as you get a captive bred baby and have patience with it bc they are highly intelligent for geckos, it blew my mind but so many people especially on Reddit play with their tokays like leopard geckos
I just recently got a baby Leachi and I love him ❤️
Wicked!
@@WickensWickedReptiles he’s got a little bit of a tude if I wake him or try to get him off of his cork log but otherwise he’s fine. And he really doesn’t like to be messed with when he is in the cork log, he will defend it with his life🤣
Gecko would do the death roll like crocodile lol
Another great list.
Glad you enjoyed it
cg on the baby btw
thank you!
I definitely want to try and get a tokay at some point, I’m willing to take the bites hahaha
they sure are cool!
I've had a crested gecko for many years and he's my bestie. He's grown very social and will come to the front of his cage when he hears me. So overall I'm pretty optimistic about my ability to "tame" geckos so I personally would love a leechie gecko some day
There are friendly leachies out there. I have tried to socialize mine and ended up with typical territorial leachie behaviors anyhow.
I never thought I would love geckos until I adopted the leopard gecko I named Ghostemane ❤😂
Cool name
I’m currently making a 2x2x4 cage for a lichie gecko the only problem is I herd that they don’t make good bioactive or planted cage animals because they are so large, but I’ll figure it out I hope
use sturdy leaves and plants
Would've loved to see uroplatus lineatus and henkeli they are very unique and about the same size as fimbs and giganteus. I also think sikorae, saimeti, guentheri, allaudi, and pietshmanni are about the size of leopard geckos.
I think the coolest gecko are Pygopodidae geckos. They are by far the most unique type of gecko and have by far the most outlandish body plan.
I have a giant day gecko, crested gecko and a handful of mourning geckos lol. Love them all and would like a leachie some day
Prices are going down a lot on all New Caledonia geckos, I got my leachie from a local reputable store for $550 (USD) and I’ve been seeing them on morph market in the $400-$500 range thankfully. They’re absolutely amazing and he’s right up there with my chohua as my 2 favorite animals I own (non dog animals)
this is awesome!
yesterday i got a crested gecko for my birthday dont worry the man who gave it to them new all about reptiles and only did them in his shop it came with everything and all the advice
Thanks for always making me learn so much about different pet reptiles 🐢 🐍 🦎 ❤
Happy to help!
I met a Sara breeder at the reptile expo in Houston and I lost his business card😭 he had affordable Sarasinorum Geckos and they are so beautiful and amazing!!
The only ones I've seen were $1000 for a pair
Thanks for a great video! I have several large species of gecko and enjoy each one. Though I fill say that Tokays are my favorite and I have yet to be bit. I say yet because it is bound to happen at some point. I really must thank 'The Tokay Whisperer' I have learned much from his videos.
Thanks for sharing!
6:33 Yes! 👏🏾Tokay Geckos are my favourites for their visual beauty. 😍
10:30 LOL at Aria(?) taking the New Caledonia Giant Gecko out of Trish's hair! 😲😆
11:00 Easy question, Tokays are my favorite geckos. 🔵🟠
Plus you can get leopards geckos with giant super giants if you want them bigger
Big fan of gecko's great vid !
Thanks!
I got to hold two leachies at Animal Trax in Madison Al. I was so in awe. 🦎My garg would have been an appetizer for one of these!
My favorite gecko species would be a gargoyle and a leopard gecko. I'd love a big carrot tail ,but plan to adopt a leo from Animal Trax who needs a home.
no doubt!
Dude im now purchasing a fat tailed african geko after watching your videos😂
ENJOY :)
“ The WORST stink of poop from reptiles “
Like for the video 👆🏼
hahahhaaa
I'm in love with the Uroplatus, wow! But i'm guessing they are difficult to keep?
I like large lizards, they are the most interesting to me.
A good example is the asian water monitor (Slinky from Kamp Kenan 😋).
There are super giant leopard geckos that can reach 125+ grams and can grow alittle over a foot long
wild!
What about the most noisiest geckos? Naturally noisy and not just calls or screams of distress. and wont try to eat my fingers like a tokay :D
oh no doubt!!!
Love the leachie gecko, at least the ones Brian has because they are chubby and I was told they feel like velvet. Otherwise the leopard gecko, really a nice size and lots of different morphs. Thanks Adam, another excellent mini class, always appreciated.🦎👍❤️
Leachies are amazing.
Can u make a frilled dragon care guide and enclosure setup video pls?
Sure can
@@WickensWickedReptiles Thanks!
Tokays rule.A close second are Nightstalker Geckos(Cyrtodactylus irianjayaensis).I hatched an egg recently. They’re a beautiful species
so cool!
im looking to purchase my last snake and get one lizard down the road to complete a little collection of reptiles that i can manage,. so far my top contender (before doing research on any of them) is fiji banded. ive really debated leachies as their size is super impressive and shocking for a gecko. im also a huge fan of some of the skinks. once again, this could all change depending on care guides but i think fiji banded iguanas have my heart.
As a ball python lover , a video idea: favourite ball python morphs 2024. Cool video, leopard gecko will be definitely in the collection one day when there is time and space 🙈🤣
Can you please make a Viper Gecko care guide?
I like the look of fat-tails but haven't had luck with them yet. Don't they get about leopard gecko size?
sure do!
I only have leachies out of this list. I could be temped to keep tokays ( adore the calls) or leopard geckos.
I have 3 leachies. They’re like chips. Once you get once you have to have more!!!
I have 2 leaches, 2 giant days, 2 skunk geckos, 2 leopard geckos and 8 morning geckos. but i love my other lizards my tegu and my skink are lovers too
very cool collection
i wish i could get some of the ones you have up there @@WickensWickedReptiles
I actually got a tokay gecko probably 6 ish months ago, and on a good day I can pick her up, most days I can only pet her though (:
I have 3 leopard geckos and 3 cresties ❤they are great my female leo loves being held my male is kinda a poot but once out of his tank he does very well
Everyone makes fun of Dav and it makes me root for him more xD
But I totally know it's outta love!!
My spouse bites loll .. should i get some tongs to feed her lol, so tempted ... Always much love from kenya
hahahaha that might work
I own a tokay gecko and let me tell you, she’s SPICY 😂 love her to bits though! Would love a leachie someday also 👀✨
sounds about right
I love it have a awesome day have a cool day have a wonderful day great work
Have a nice day and great weekend!
I really want a tokay
they are beautiful!
Now I want a gecko lol 😂
They are amazing
I have wanted a Leachie for years but in the US they start around $600 dollars, about 800 Canadian, and that's an ordinary color!
sounds about right
Around here they seem to start at around $400. Some locales are more expensive than others.
I’ve had terrible luck with Leo’s and I can’t figure out why lmaoo I do want a crestie tho
have you tried feeding them pickles?
@@WickensWickedReptiles no!! I should try that next. Maybe I’ll give them some bricks too
W video🔥
thank you!
