Christina Applegate is a beautiful person. May she have much more laughter and happiness than tears and pain.
what a beautiful thing to say, thank you for that
I don't know about her work, but I think it's a special thing when even a celebrity who you have no prior knowledge about stands out on character alone, fame aside. I liked her personality and attitude here. I hope they have her back at a later date. It makes me very emotional, and honestly scared, for all those who suffer through these conditions. Nothing more that I wish for than every single year we're here to come with greater medical discoveries and progress to inspire more hope. Better treatments, superior ways to get those treatments affordably. And as this is a comedy podcast, let this episode serve as a reminder to always remember that comedy is very mentally powerful and to appreciate that.
@@PigDanShe is a great actress and was blessed with comedic talent. In my parent's day, she would have been in great screwball comedies.
I loved this episode the best. I have MS too. Was diagnosed at 23 years old. Christina is helping me remember so many things I faced. She will get to the other side of this. She is strong. I am praying for her resilience and peace. Love you guys!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Christina Applegate was hilarious on SNL. I love almost everything she’s done after Married w/Children.
Every reference you guys say was obscure or a flop is like a huge memory for so many of us. We love you guys
I ❤️ Christina Applegate. Awesome artist, best human being.
MS took my sister so fast. I miss her. Happy Christina took time to be here. Thank you three, Casey in AZ
I know I'm not the only one who Christina had cry-laughing through this whole seg!🤣😭🫠🤭Chris Farley's "Van down by the river" is one of my favorite impersonations to do!😅 I LOVE over-the-top!💔
Christina Applegate is tremendously strong & a beautifully funny soul.. 🙌🏾
Im sooooo glad David asked about Christina working at Viper Room. I wanted to know about her and Adam from Counting Crows working as bartenders there. Had no idea she was there when River died.
And man i really wanna hear that story,but...
This was your best interview and I love them all. Julie Bowen's episode a close second...both these gals match with your wit toe to toe! Love Christina always...the whole episode was gold
I'm not familiar with her work or some of the topics discussed during this episode but despite that, this is probably my favorite episode of your show. I can heavily relate to some of the darker topics briefly touched on here in my own way, with chronic pain and mental health conditions. Wishing her all the best, and to Dana and David with their health challenges & pains as well, an immense empathy goes out to the community
Edit: also I think she would be awesome on Conan's podcast which I'm a big fan of.
First Sharon Stone, now Christina? You guys are on fire!! LOVVVVVVE Christina ❤❤
I have ms too. It sucks and there’s no break. Thanks for having Christina on.
If you don’t talk about Christina’s SINGULAR PERFORMANCE in Van Down by the River , I’ll scream .
A fantasy of mine since childhood was what I would wear and how I would enter as a late night guest. Everybody would notice my dress!! After MS, I didn’t think I could even imagine it anymore. Buy when Christina walked onto Kimmel with a cane and chucks, I started crying.
I have to wear Chucks or go barefoot bc I can’t take any more blocking my nerves on my feet. I sit cross legged too, or did, you gotta work on core strength a little, or you’ll shrink into a ball.
I love the MeSsy podcast. I could listen to Christina and Jamie all DAY. It’s like therapy. They get it.
“MS MO” Lolol David
So classic and hilarious > Christina doing :Down by the River' with
Chris Farley!!
My first celebrity crush, well. maybe after Madonna. Anchorman is still one of the best comedies of all time.
This episode has hit home for me also. I have Patellar Femoral knee pain. Nothing like MS, but its the same as what she said. At night your in your dreams and wake up afraid to put your foot on the ground. You just want to stay in bed all day. Almost 50, had to give up hobbies, but I'm watching more Fly on the Wall!! You guys have helped me through this keep doing this and Superfly!!! Love you!
Christina has made me laugh in every decade since Married with Children. I hope she has some peace dealing with her illness.
I agree, I love hearing her voice 🤘🖖❤
Snark Attack! with Applegate & Spade. Please make it happen.
Christina is America's Sweetheart! We are wishing her better days and praying for a Miracle. God Bless.
Christina is a heroic figure now. Much respect to you.
I ❤ Christina,! She is so cool and smart. A legend.
Holy Mackerel .. hats off to the bird !! She’s so cool .. I am left speechless .. she is just so dang genuine .. everyone’s big sister ..
This episode made me laugh and maybe shed a tear. MS is a robber of life, it takes you out slowly.
Good to hear from her, going to look up the pod. 😁Great episode boys!🙂
Thank you Christina for your braveness and humor as you navigate this part of your life…
Finally!!
I was wondering when you were going to have Christina on!
Glad she's in good spirits and herself!
Wow, probably my favorite episode yet. She was always cool, and still is.
Kelly Bundys father Al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High Panthers in the city championship game.
Legend
"I played Garth as a virgin!" I almost choked laughing at that line.
Thank you Christina for kick-starting my puberty as Kelly Bundy, but also patterning my appreciation for a gal with intelligence, a sense of humor, and uncommon depth.
God i love this woman. I wish her alk the best
this is a great episode and I'm 15 mins in so its safe to say that its a perfect reveal to a new special podcast that is sure to be a total success! Christina was always funny as hell and I predict her definitely being such a breath of fresh air for the Hollyweird world, seeing how it is STARVED for authenticity and a heavy dose of reality... you go girl!
What an amazing woman. Talented, funny, tough, wise, beautiful...
Wish you had talked more about "dead to me". such a powerful performance, when her friend asks what she could do to make it up, and she responds "you can die".
Excellent! 👏👏👏
Love her. Always have. She wAs definitely underrated as an actress. She is smart beautiful and intelligent.
I'm sorry to hear. My father had ALS. It's amazing how much people don't know about MS/ ALS. They're terrible diseases.
I've had crohn's for 35 years, and OMG the bit about mushrooms hits home so hard... the number of "have you tried"/"why don't you just"/"my friend had that and..." etc Ive heard over the years can't be calculated.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but don't do that people.
You’re wrong and deciding to be sick
Rolled
Great episode. Laughs, honesty, picking on Spade. When she said I Was raised by Ed and Katey everything made sense lol. Quick wit, smart, funny and very little time for BS.
Carvey Had Nothing To Apologize for it was a funny sketch!!!!
Truly, if you’re friends with a diverse crowd, then you learn to accept and embrace your different nationalities.
Yeah. He's coming from a funny place
She lived in Maryland about 2 miles from me like 20 yrs ago….my first crush as a young dude, I’m 40
She’s SOOOO HAUUUGGHHHTT!!!!
Seriously loved her for a long time.
I think the break in the sketch worked for that particular scene. Because the kids were getting a lecture from a motivational speaker it only makes sense that teenagers would snicker and laugh throughout anyway. I feel that it made it more realistic because they were truly laughing at the situation. Best break ever
I loved her in "Anchorman."
Always enjoy all three of you. Just saw the Partridge Family Brady Bunch SNL again, classic, so funny. My advice to Christina is to avoid inflammation. I’m nearly 62 and have had MS since I was 29 but it kinda of went away after the first few years for the most part but inflammation will bring about a few tingles in my toes or face. I’ve used steroids a few times early on but otherwise no medication. Like she said everyone is different. I hope you get over it soon. It might a year to feel better just don’t lose hope.
Christina Applegate Is keeping it real and I really respect that!
There’s not a man my age that doesn’t love applegate. She is so funny and cute
My favorite line in that whole sketch was when Christina says:
"She didn't smoke it, did she? "
Delivered perfectly..
Love you Christina! Really enjoyed this podcast , just subscribed to MesSy. I'm a year younger than you and you were my first major crush as a kid, ty for helping me through puberty...... 💕 Xoxoxo
loved this
Clay walker was diagnosed years ago and he is still out there doing concerts. It just depends, like Christina said. Everyone is different. Every disease affects people in different ways.

Goddamn. THIS.
I forget in my dreams too Christina.
When laughing on SNL was an accident and was funny. It’s forced now.
for real. Looking back, Phil Hartman and Kevin Nealon were SO good at playing it completely straight!
Fallon ruined it
i am reading spades old book "almost interesting". funny stuff. i look forward to gettin the new one soon
U rock C A much love vibes send
I can relate to forgetting about it in your dreams. Then waking up and wanted to just stay in bed. My illness can't hold a candle to MS, obviously.
I loved Christina in Days or our Lives.
My favorite SNL sketch of hers was "Tech Talk: iPhone 5" from 2012. It was extremely well written and she was supported by six legendary cast members.
I remember when three of my favorite shows started MWC alumni - Christina (Up All Night) Ed (Modern Family) and Katey (Sons of Anarchy) 💫
I just found out about this podcast from seeing a video of it in the shorts. so is there no video for all of these full episodes!!?? these would be SO MUCH BETTER WITH THE VIDEO!!!
My late wife had MS, and I am glad to hear Christina’s honesty, but much much more I love her joie de vivre. (my wife did not pass due to MS).
PS - I think women have MS 90% more than men.
@@paulhawkins4895 it is 70-75%
A lot of men get it. It’s very common all around. It manifests in so many different ways.
@@paulhawkins4895 It is 70-75%
@@paulhawkins4895it’s about 65-35
God Bless her. My wife has an incurable, chronic disease. It's really hard. She & J-LS are the bravest women around.
This sucks that Christina Applegate is stricken with this disease, I really hope science can figure out a cure soon. They are making great strides with the CRISPER technology. I'm glad she explained that medical science hasn't yet figured out the cause because I would be one of those dopes asking the same tired question.
We have a girlfriend who’s got ms . You never know it living her best life. It’s crazy.
That SNL skit is epic. I remember that to this day.
I think she's great. You guys should take this on the road.
The Dishes are done man!! Haha still say tht today at times, love babysitters Dead. Classic as a kid
She's great definitely have her back
Alway enjoyable when there's a nice chemestry with a guest. That was a good episode. =]
I want to live in a van down by the river!
I love Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead!!!! “I’m maître d’”
The dishes are done 😂😂
I love this woman !!!! ❤😊💎💘
Love her series Dead To Me. Amazing
this one spoke to me. thanks
It was so perfect that David and Christina laughed in van down by the river, though, because that's how snarky teenagers would've reacted to their parents bringing in some weirdo like Matt Foley.
Would totally listen to a podcast called Snark Attack.
41:00 Wonder Years remains my favorite show. It was gold. Jason was also in a brief BTTF scene.
I loved Up All Night and was so bummed it was cancelled.
❤Christina‼️
I wish I could watch this! Audio only is only half good
Swing. Solid show brah
I have a friend who has MS takes Tysabri and had a benefit to get stem cell done, didn't work out, chicago location shut down so it never went through. Mom the babysitter is dead and PCU were both hilarious films - i have em both stashed in my collection. Could try HSCT for MS
I'd like to give a quick shout out to Christina Applegate
this episode was a bit shaky.RACK EM
She was in Airheads.
I have guest suggestions such as Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Devito, Josh Brolin, Jim Carrey, Christine Ebersole, Tim Matheson, Gary Busey, Grant Heslov, anf Bruce Mcgill.
I love Black Sheep. The film took part in getting me to vote compassionately.
Damn. Arnold & Danny DeVito would be great. I hope the guys get on top of this.
'Who wants to be pitied?' I do. And I want to be given cash.
Looking forward to SNARK WEEK.😂
I would 100% listen to Snark Week Podcast with Christina and Spade. I'd even listen to the ads.
Im so confused , why are there some only audio podcast ,some zoom, and some in a studio?
It is odd
@bobbowie9350 I only like the studio, I think the zoom is like a meeting
Probably based on where they are
Wow I think I got a sign from my dad..he was Indian and his name was Dr. PK.. Prabahan Kemal Kabir...a theoretical physicist
Love Christina but she still has a bit more to learn about MS ;-) yes, things are better now with managing MS due to the available DMTs and better understanding...but in the past while some might have a very quick progression it wasn't that common for people within a year to be paraplegic and die. Kinda same as now- we are all so different. I am 18 years in- so maybe if she wants to learn more she can touch base and some of us "old timers" can be on her pod cast. We've been enjoying being MeSsy
You should never apologize for trying to make people laugh. What started off as a well intentioned desire not to hurt people's feelings is now being weaponized. It's time for everybody to lighten up. Stop pretending to be offended and stop being offended on behalf of others. Let's all start acting like grown ups again.
She said she makes jokes to let ppl off the hook, but she doesn't really joke about it, just more like sharing her pain and suffering
Luckily, we still don’t live in the Stone Age, so could you please show the video?
Love you all !!!
Love it!!
Fasting and a low carb diet can help a lot with MS btw.
Not always
@@demitasse22 I bet Christina's doctor's have never heard that
Listening but in the back of my mind Neil Young is doing "Down By The River"...
This is real reality. More so than the frankenstein created by lala land. Great mix of emotional topics and light-hearted goofiness.
Trinity and Hank Hanegraaff bless you
Courageous fun woman. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
50:00 she should have already known that Selma Blair underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. I am surprised she doesn't know that is how she is doing so much better
I am sure she knows. It is just not her place to talk about it.
Are you nuts? There’s is no cure. Selma had an incredibly expensive, experimental treatment that sapped her immunity to that of an infant and it took 2 years for her to start making appearances again. Not everything works.
It’s a degenerative disease, and there is no reversal yet, only slowing progression.
No guarantees.
It’s new. It’s experimental, expensive, risky, and takes years to see effects, and that’s best case scenario. It’s not a cure
My first celebrity crush was Christina Applegate from Married with children.
