      Thank you Jeff.
      May I ask a question?
      Please answer my question below if possible.
      My car is a Landcruiser with Hi/Lo four wheel engagement and a differential locker switch available. When use the Lo four wheel, sometimes I engage the Diff locker, I press and turn right one time or two, it shows red diff lock on the screen, obviously one front and one back never the same time. My question is I get confused which one is front lock or which one is the rear lock, the one with cross in front means front locked or otherwise?

      I have a 2020 TACOMA TRD PRO & it's the most useless diff lock that I've ever seen, I need diff lock in high range for mud & snow, in mud you need wheel speed and momentum, which you can't get in lo range. Jeep, Ford & others work in 2 wheel drive at anytime, Toyota diff lock absolutely sucks!

    Good videos, Jeff. I appreciate your humor. If a Toyota (or other truck) has a locking rear differential, does it also have limited slip/positraction or an open differential? If open, would that allow the wheels to spin a lot more than LSD and if so, for snow use and rain, would LSD be better/safer? Thanks.

By chance, would you or anyone you know.....have on hand or can easily get a low mileage 3.4L engine for a , 95 T100 DX ext cab 4wd manual 5spd ? I am trying to get my T100 on the road, invested over $5k in new parts on it since 2014 and engine went out in 2017. I bet I didn't put no more than 7k miles on everything since 2014, even put new white letter 31 10.50's on it 2 days before engine went out...smh & lol. I have the worst luck! Anyway, I am in search for a T100 3.4L engine, 93-97 as far as I know. I know the T100 has the sump or deep part of oil pan at rear of engine and 4runners its in the front.....which makes a huge issue with the crossmember on the T100 (long story). I tried someone local and they want $1400 for an engine with 277k??? I just can't take that chance. Hopefully you can help or know someone that may help a struggling Toyota T100 lover get his truck on the road again? Thanks and sorry for the long message.

      @scootsmcdoots80 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yong32986 my 97 runner did too. As well as the three different gmc sierras ive owned did it as well. It’s because it’s trying to turn the tires at the same rate when it can’t. The inside tire will complete the circle before the outside tire will. Wish I could explain better. But the radius of the inside circle is smaller than the outside one but trying to complete them with the same amount of tire rotations.

    • @dev1lyt336
      @dev1lyt336 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's simple really, don't use 4H while on non slippery surfaces because you can damage your drive train when making turns.
      If you're turning left, the right rear wheel would have to cover more distance than the left rear wheel and when in 4h, both wheels get the same amount of torque, the left rear wheel would have to skip in order to match the speed of the right rear wheel.
      It's not a problem on muddy or slippery surfaces but can damage your drive train and even ruin your transmission if you try it on concrete. 👍

And within 40' was on able to get out. I backed up my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe limited with the 3.5 engine. After connecting a chain to my hitch with a bicycle U lock. My all wheel drive started to dig me into a hole. My wife was screaming(she's black and maybe alitt tipsy) for me not attempt this with a Hyundai!!!!how I'm going to get stuck...

    What does center dif lock do?

    • @MrHombreloco
      @MrHombreloco 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It splits power 50/50 on each axle, so i.e. if your front wheels loose traction, rear wheels will still have power to pull you out. Locking center diff should be used only on slippery surface or on uneven terrain like when offroading, and never on a dry pavement. But unlike the rear diff lock, you can go faster than 8km/h.

    • @danbmwmba

      your vehicle handling ability will decrease more so at curving road surfaces. the work of the differential is to allow each wheel to spin at different speeds at a corner. typically, the outer wheel in a corner spins more.

      In slippery surfaces, traction control and ABS brakes are the worst things to have. If you know how to drive then you shouldn't need them and they are actually doing more harm than good. With the locking diff you are never going fast and ABS brakes just get in the way.

    The locker only ensures that both sides spin with the same speed. It absolutely does not imply equal distribution of power. Speed and power and different physical quantities and cannot be mixed.
