Looks great! The reason for the installation method of the top raiIing is very interesting. I've never even thought about the cables pulling the posts out of alignment before. I really like the look of cable railing systems. And after watching this series, I'm glad I've never tried to install one myself. My DIY skills just aren't anywhere near the level of problem solving needed! The take away for me is, *Hire a Professional!* 👍👷♂️
Thank you J. Yes the cable railing provides significant pulling force when all the cables are tightened. In a deck constructed like this one the corner post would likely bend considerably from the taunt cable if no additional reinforcement were added to compensate. In this case, the top railing provides a ridged stop keeping the corner post from bending.
My contractor wants to do the same thing and now I know exactly what he is going to do and how the baloney is going to look. Thanks for posting.😀
