When I first heard that the show was going to have Diana come back as a ghost I was appalled. But once I saw how it was done, it made perfect sense to me. I lost my husband of 36 years in a car accident, and let me say, that imagining that your lost loved one is sitting across from you in conversation is quite normal. I too thought it reasonable as Diana showing up as not even so much as a ghost but with grief with a sudden traumatic loss, one does hallucinate audibly & visually because your mind is trying radical accept a loss. She looks like her, but I don’t think she captured her essence. Honestly, I found her version of Diana very emotionally distant and guarded. Even in her darkest states, Diana always exuded warmth. It’s a shame Emma Corrin only got one season, because she was magnificent in the role.
I'm mostly fine with all the liberties the show takes in speculating about interesting things that could have happened, because most of these characters are probably very boring in real life (not Diana's life, as much). But I think the ghost scenes were ridiculous for how much they felt like putting words in Diana's mouth that felt out of character. Trying to give closure to the event so quickly after it happened and in such an idealised way like she's still with Charles and the queen in spirit felt disingenuous and kind of patronising. It painted the queen and now king in an incredibly charitable light that didn't feel true to the more nuanced and believable character studies of previous seasons.
Mohammed Al fayed being portrayed a grey character is a classic British move. Yes make a father who lost his son look as if he's controlling his son into being in a relationship with Diana 👏👏👏 yea he's in their bedroom too of course making his son do the deed. Writers needed a villain they couldn't do that to Charles because him being a king now they did that to Mohammad Al fayed. Shame on them for framing an innocent man. All of these are freaking theories they didn't had guts to show the reality they tried to defame a de@d person. Disgusting American behaviour.
I kno i felt like i was there!!! I had to Kee pausing and take a breath. Crazy how i was 6 years old at the time and remember being up at like 5 or 6am watching that funeral
Can you do in laws and cousins in media? The latter can talk twin cousins like in The Patty Duke Show to Hey Arnold and South Parks depictions of out of town cousins, how cousins are regarded as intruders, and Never Have I Ever showing cousins as part of the family. NHIE can be applied to in laws as well.
I haven’t seen this yet i am with family. I think from what I read the crown is showing everyone with nuanced which is what I like about it. I do think it would have been intresting to show the aftermath with clips from the Queen since Peter Morgan did that too lol. It was a good reaction but I trust he did a good with it. For those who say they made Charles look to good that’s not true I saw pics of him crying especially when I saw him collect the coffin with her sisters. He looked in genuine pain even as an eight year old watching the news I could see it. I have read that Charles and Diana were also becoming good friends at the time of her death which the Crown didn’t show. As for Diana I prefer her portrayal on the Crown a million more times than the paranoid mess she was in Spencer
I am in the episode that deals with the death and it’s written really well it’s not a cut and paste from the Queen that I was Peter Morgan would do. The Queen is a good movie but we don’t need a copy. So far I believe Elizabeth Debicki was the best Diana I’ve seen played in her 30s and I was rooting for her to get reunited with the boys and I felt bad for them going to bed not knowing the next day everything would change. I liked Diana saying motherhood was what made her happiest and I feel that so nice because I feel it’s gotten so shamed in modern times being a mom. I liked the easy fling she and Dodi In the Crown I thought it was sweet and while like the Crown I don’t think it would have lasted long it did bring a case as to why they were together at that period. In the Naomi Watt movie they do have Diana call the cops to make Hasnat jealous. Even that might have been more true I do still prefer the Crowns Diana Even though Dominic West doesn’t look like Charles he does do a really good job
Didn’t gather this AT ALL. Diana doesn’t come across to me as being spotlight hungry, either in the series or in real life. The entire season was a favor to the royal family and incredibly unfair to Diana and Dodi- no surprises there. There isn’t a single hint that she was over the relationship whatsoever. Even the security cameras at The Ritz show them very much in love. They made Dodi look like a spineless do-nothing, and Diana like a woman that needed someone to control her, which is far from the truth. And of course they made his father look like a bad guy- he called the royal family out on everything. Then pretending Charles cried his heart out at the hospital and “wanted to be brilliant” … ha! Pathetc.
I still think the 2006 movie The Queen was better than episode 4: Aftermath. I did enjoy the differences though: Charles in the morgue, Mohammed's reaction to Dodi's death and a Muslim funeral being depicted. To me that was so educational, I have never seen on screen or in person a Muslim funeral.
I'm disappointed how they showed her death. It was already proven that the driver wasn't drunk on the night and there were no paparazzi near the tunnel... they made the Royal Family look innocent
Though Charles had his obvious faults so did Diana! I’m so tired of people purposely turning a blind eye to the things that she did. She was not a saint or martyr. She had affairs with married men and was quite literally ‘Camilla’ or ‘the other woman’ in multiple peoples marriages. And yet this is completely ignored even though it’s shown in the show and publicly known in real life. Charles never wanted to marry her and there is no way he could have just ‘given up’ the crown so easily with how his mother was. She would never allowed that to happen. Feel so badly that he was forced into it.
Well said..... most people are not old enough to remember how it was. Diana, while sweet,( maybe) was also a cunning, calculating, needy, spoilt woman. She planned EVERY move she made. Her affairs hurt a LOT of people. I read that one of the reasons she spent time with the Al Fayeds that summer was because British society would have nothing to do with her because of the constant drama she caused.
Okay, let's break this stupid take down. Diana was is 20 years old when she married a 32-year-old Charles. A. 32-year-old Charles who never had any intention of making this marriage work. A 32-year-old man who was already having an affair with a married woman. Who invited that woman to their wedding who allowed that woman to wear white to their wedding. Diana, who was faithful to him for the first few years of marriage bare. Both of his child are in alone. I may add. In fact when she went into labor with Prince Harry he was off with Camille. Diana She had an affair with married men. She's not perfect. No one claimed she is. But Charles emotionally abused that young woman. He had 12 years her senior and he behaved like a child. He was jealous. He was abusive. People who worked in the Royal institution of said as much. And then when Diane died he allowed his boys no time to grieve and put them on display. Diane, while she had her flaws she was working to make herself better. Working to fix her charities. Whereas Charles has stood by his child. Molesting brother. Allowed his brother to dress in ceremonial garbs at his mother's funeral. Refuses even today to call out the British royal family's benefit from slavery. He went to a country where the slave trade went on for an abnormal amount of time. And said well. I hope we didn't give you too hard of a time. He's detached from reality. He's bullied to his staff. This ridiculous toxic tank. Well true. Diana wasn't perfect. No one ever says she was but Charles is a literal monster who protects child molesters and tries to downplay the royal family's continuation of slavery as an institution.

I liked having Diana and Dodi appear after their deaths. I think it was a cool move
I do think the show played dirty by constantly framing it as the Fayed’s fault for the whole ordeal. What’s up with that…
He accused the royal family for the murder of Diana and his son that's why they did this
what you mean they got someting right?
Shit! That chick really does look like her. Good casting.
I think they will be put camila amd chalres in good light for thebresr of the season because they are now king and queen
Disgusting American behaviour.
dont be silly
My gosh I'm so nervous watching the final 2 chapters, like I don't know what is going to happen!😢
I kno i felt like i was there!!! I had to Kee pausing and take a breath. Crazy how i was 6 years old at the time and remember being up at like 5 or 6am watching that funeral
Idk how they’ll do the successive deaths of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother.
I like the way Mohamed alfayed put Camilla Parker bowles in her place😊
how? She is the queen.
Even that might have been more true I do still prefer the Crowns Diana
Even though Dominic West doesn’t look like Charles he does do a really good job
Thats not a take. It's just a recap.. there was a time when your videos were worth watching

Pathetc.
nonsense.
The Crown movie never shows Princess Margaret with her children? Why?
I still think the 2006 movie The Queen was better than episode 4: Aftermath. I did enjoy the differences though: Charles in the morgue, Mohammed's reaction to Dodi's death and a Muslim funeral being depicted. To me that was so educational, I have never seen on screen or in person a Muslim funeral.
5:00 very insensitive ad transition. I hate when channels do this. Get a better editor.

The beautiful real life fairytale blonde blue eyed princess will never do wrong in this world.
@@LLandS18 what are you on about?
Today I get the honour of being that annoying ‘FIRST’ comment
Btw this season felt numbing in some sense.
😂 you were not first!
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Chapter by Chapter / Verse by Verse !!!!!!! Amen
Don’t agree. If you watch more REAL clips of moumou’s interview, it wasn’t that simple
Wow. Y'all really can't get through a video without some preposterous suggestion. Mario Brenna has said that no one contacted him about where the princess was, but now you're going to suggest DIANE CALLED HIM/THEM??? That's disgusting and you're sick for even suggesting it. Yeah, I'm done with this channel.
The whole show is so much voyeurism, sickening to me that the same thing that contributed to Diana's death has been repackaged.
😮
The whole show happened to make Charles and Camilla to look good and Diana to look immature, needy and unfaithful
Which Diana actually was..
@@fahimfaisalmahir567 yes and Camilla was the wise goodhearted hug who wanted Charles for the good of his soul
