In my area northern Ohio Weller SP is 25 including tax. And every BT product is overpriced and overhyped. And none of them should be over MSRP. Same with some of these blends that some of these non-distillers do that are using MGP juice they are ridiculously expensive. Yes some are very good but others well not so much.
I refuse to pay more than $55-60 for McKenna. I managed to really luck out and risked buying three bottles from the same barrel. I opened one and it was amazing, palate is like peach, leather and tobacco, slight oak and some black pepper. Really happy it worked out, and now I know the other two bottles will be delicious. Great list guys.
About $35 in upstate NY. Eagle Rare is usually around $50ish. But those are the prices for the stores not trying to rob you. I’ve seen eagle rare for $150 and BT for $75 and up.
We're in SC. You can actually watch it with our Bourbon Hunt video we made back in April, I think. One of those stores had around 50 bottles of Larceny BP on display.
Taylor Small Batch sells for $150 in my area. So I would put that on my list. Basically anything Buffalo trace at this point is an overpriced allocation. Stagg is usually worth it but it sucks that you have to fork out $200 to try each new batch.
Stagg 22a is a fantastic bottle. But over priced. Mine was $150. Lost Ark Thirsty Duckhunters pick out of Maryland is $55. 127 proof. Holds its own very well against Stagg
Totally agree on BT and Blanton’s. Blanton’s seems like a $45 bottle to me. I’ve had three different Kentucky Owls (St. Patty, batch ?? And Takumi). Takumi is the only one I liked. The 2XO have been good but seem overhyped to me.
When you find good stuff you like you need to buy multiples. I bought a case of McKenna10 when it was 30 a bottle. Still have 6 bottles. At that price it is unbeatable.
The facts that no one drank Blantons when it was 60$ or even pappys when it was 100$. And good 10year+ bourbons we’re like $30 max Before flippers and collectors came into play about in late 2000’s. 😢
I have 18 bottles of Buffalo Trace that I bought for $26.99 in Illinois. I use it as a primer bourbon. I have had 2 bad bottles of Blanton’s and do not look for it anymore. I used to buy OF Birthday Bourbon any day of the week off the shelf for $45 fifteen years ago. Was nothing special back then and probably the same now. Overrated. 🥃
@@brmicmatthews8398 I just got a chance to try 1792 12 year at my local bar and now I’m on the hunt for a bottle. I love the full proof and I’ve been trying to make my bottle last 😩
I'm gonna pile on with the Buffalo Trace hate. I like the product but I rarely see it here and when I do it is 40 bucks minimum of you have to buy it in a bundle with something else. I just killed my bottle tonight and if I find another one at a reasonable price I'll probably get it but I'm not going out of my way.
Jack Daniels 10 and 12 are COMPLETELY overrated! Found both for MSRP and tried them last night and it was like sucking on a barrel stave. My tongue didn't recover from the tannins and everything I drank was tainted.
Wellers Special Reserve. The fact places are selling that for well over $100 is insane.
That is nuts, $30 should be the max

Where do you get “Wellers” anything ??? I can get plenty of “Weller Special Reserve” or other “Weller” prpducts but can’t seem to find “Wellers”
There is a store near me that is trying to sell special reserve for 399.99. 😂

Larceny BP can’t find in Texas typically
In N. California Buffalo Trace is basically in every store and sells for $23-$29 a bottle
See! That's not too bad. That's the price it should be. Cheers!!
@@ThoseBourbonGuys Same in CO

Come down to Aiken and give me one of those bottles of Blanton’s!
What state are you guys in? I never see Larceny BP just sitting around in droves, nor ECBP.
We're in SC. You can actually watch it with our Bourbon Hunt video we made back in April, I think. One of those stores had around 50 bottles of Larceny BP on display.
Thanks. Good to know. @@ThoseBourbonGuys
2:43. Me texting AJ to send me some Larceny BP bc I can’t get it.

Weller green label is just ok and they want $60-$80 for it sometimes in some places in the Chicago area
Yeah, that's stoooopid. 😄
“That’s a lot of lap dances …” 😂😂😂 I love you AJ! You guys crack me up, and put out good content.

We'll need to see about getting one of those bottles. Anything that can go up against a Stagg for less than a bill is worth checking out.
Anything from Kentucky owl or Weller

Luckily Buffalo Trace is everywhere is Texas but having trouble finding Larceny BP. lol. Ilike that Kentucky Owl but agree not worth $180. cheers bud

Damn sure is. What barrel do you have?

Buffalo trace $25 dollars in Texas and larceny barrel proof $80
Weller 12 is at the top of this list for me. Overhyped and underwhelming. KC 12 is a much better 12 year bottle. Cheers guys!!!
We do love us some KC12! Cheers!

They’re giving it away in so cal for $15 a bottle
Damn, 18 bottles in reserve? I keep about 6-8 bottles in reserve for the bottles I really love like WT Rare Breed, OGD114, and any 1792 offering.
@@brmicmatthews8398 . I was stocking up because I am retiring in less than 2 years. Cheers. 🥃

Standard Buffalo Trace is ass. I love most BT products but the standard one isn't worth more than $20 IMO lol.
Agreed! We have a store pick BT and it's delicious, but we didn't spend more than 30 on it.
I am never upset when drinking whiskey😁. There are so many great non allocated whiskies at MSRP. Fight FOMO.
BT at $23 is a solid pour, as far as overhyped allocated bottles…A Midsummer Nights Dram and anything from Garrison Brothers
Agreed! MND is hard to find and expensive as hell in our area. Cheers!
I can’t wrap my head around how much Garrison Bros bottles are for the juice inside. All of their offerings are way overpriced in my opinion.

@@ThoseBourbonGuys I just broke the seal on a JD single barrel select. That's what accidentally followed me home tonight since I couldn't find BT.

Haha! The 10 was meh, the 12 we thought was pretty good but again, not for the price their asking. Cheers!
Yes!!!!! It’s BS!! 🤣🤣🤣
Buffalo Trace for 60$ 😂😂😂 I would just drink Rum and save myself a lot of $$
Just got a RR13, it’s really good but I don’t find it $150-$200 good. Should be $100 or less.
Damn straight! That's actually a bottle Ryan and I have never found in the wild.
Imagine being a bourbon enthusiast in Europe... now thát sucks.
BT is good, just not 35+ good. Early Times BiB is much cheaper and just better.
Whiskey is easy to find, but whisky is not :)
So, do you like EC?😂
Those are actually all Barrel Proofs but from different batches and yes, we absolutely love them. ❤️
@ThoseBourbonGuys I only have one proof and 1 small batch. I'm just getting into bourbon.
Take wild turkey 101 over buffalo trace
