I finally found the solution to this problem (Samsung Galaxy tab) It worked for me so it might work for you too. First you have to open the reboot menu. To do that:
Step 1 - turn off your device
Step 2 - hold the power button and volume up button together till the Samsung logo comes on screen.
Then after the reboot menu is open, choose "wipe cache partition" (Use the volume buttons and power button to choose the options) and then "repair apps". Don't worry this doesn't delete any of your files

The secret to this with old phones was, first of all u had access to ALL your folders, now everything seems to be hidden. And so you would go to My Files, select certain amount of folders and check the "weight" to pin point which one had all those GB. It took me years to figure that out on my own. I've never seen anyone use that method in yt. You can still use this method to trim maybe 1 or 2 GB of space. For example, i have about 4GB between photos and videos, but i found a total of 6 GB by searching folder weight. I know theres 2 GB of stuff i can delete. Problem is, u have to be on top of this cause eventually it'll fill right up again.

I deleted 600 something raw files from my SD card because it was starting to get full, just a massive amount of data. It locked up at about 100% in the moving to trash phase. After I use device cleanup and it closed the app there were six hundred something raw files in my trash and I emptied it. Literally maybe 30 minutes later I tried to open my gallery in it said "free up some space some features may not be available" and when I looked both my phone and my SD were at 99% full. Even though my SD card should have had at least 40 gigs free after I deleted that folder. Why isn't there a built in defrag program on these fucking computers we call phones?

I just did it on my A32 5g. I used smart switch and transfered my info onto my tab s8, factory reset it and then transfered back all the apps from tablet to A32 and in the process it allows you to pick and choose only what you want to transfer back. They did this intentionally on the older phones you could go to your settings and you would see that it copies every picture you have in a clip tray once you delete it half of the space becomes free on your phone this time on these new phones it's storing them but not letting you access them there's no SD card and there's no way to get to that file where it's being stored you gotta get the Samsung somehow because they created this c***

I agree with this comment. This process created more files with the same pictures and added a lot of them just "here and there" now I lost more space and I keep receiving offers to pay a monthly fee to get more space for pictures. Several people have tried to help me recover my photos after I followed this video. All of them tell me they don't know what the heck I have done to my phone. What did I do? I watched this video and spent approximately 40 hours total working on recovering space....that's what I did and that quadrupled pictures into different spots, deleted tons, I lost videos, ect.

Long story short, if you are rotating a bunch of clips from horizontal to vertical, then "video editor" app is saving a bunch of background data in "other storage" just in case you want to revert a media clip to how it used to be. Go to storage settings and clear the data for that app (not just the cache).
Hopefully that helps somebody out there struggling.

I figured out that the huge amount of system storage is Samsung's way of getting us to keep upgrading to their newest, costliest phones. There is no other explanation. My Samsung Galaxy 10 had 32 GB of storage, and 18GB was system storage. Storage quickly filled up. I upgraded to my A32 5G with 64 Gb of storage. I have 16 GBof a]s I have installed, and less than 3 Gb in media and documents... 19 GB... and yet I keep getting a warning to apps because there is 60 GB of the phone's 64 GB that are used and I am running out of storage memory! WTH? The only explanation is that the sustenance bloatware intrntionally increases to use up all the storage space so we have to keep buying new phones with more storage.

Some years ago, windows 7 on my laptop didnt have so much system storage but there is a lot more i could do on computer than my phone. This phone has 6 gb Ram but i cant even minimize folders and work on 2 things at once like i can do on computer.
This kind of problem arises when companies become too big.
When companies are small or just starting out, they try to impress people and gain customers through innovation and useful services. As they start getting big, they take their customers and success for granted and think they can continue to make profits by selling low quality products through deceit and manipulation.
Samsung and google have played themselves out. I am thinking of buying huwai phones now.

I finally found a solution to this problem (Samsung Galaxy tab) It worked for me so it might work for you too.

I deleted almost all of my apps and there is still 17 GB of storage taken by 'other'. I don't have ant files that might take up that much storage, I already deleted the most storage taking apps. I mean the phone is in a state almost like I've done a factory reset. People loves to hype up this trash brand these days but this is pretty much what owning a Samsung looks like. I've never experienced something this terrible with other Android phones and I've never experienced something this terrible with iPhone...

Oh, Im here again. Same issue. Didnt know I had watched this video. I suppose there are no incentives for phone and app manufacturers/developers to make things that last, so they just use all the space and give you only an option to buy a new phone. I have used to much time trying to free up space on this phone, and I have moved all the apps that the phone allow to the SD card. I have delted all the apps that I dont use, and some that I do use.

I finally found a solution to this problem (Samsung Galaxy tab) It worked for me so it might work for you too.
Don't worry this doesn't delete any of your files. Let me know if this works!
