    I was wonder if you had any tips on how to get your drum sound? I've been trying for weeks to get this exact "squishy" sounding drum kit and I can't figure it out. I've come close, but yours sounds so much cleaner. I have GGD Invasion, and love the way they sound, but this drum sound is exactly what I'm trying to achieve but haven't been able to figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

      @DennisMartenssonOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Glad you liked it! Definitely also guilty of loving the entry level Djent as well, haha.
      I'm actually using Modern & Massive, heavily processed though. Not a single trick to making them sound a certain way, sadly. But for kick, don't be afraid to EQ and compress heavily. I have tons of processing for my kick. As for the snare, I think it's important to realize that each snare track is gonna sound horrible on it's own. You just need to know what you want to get out of it. Snare top is where the main part of the snare's body comes from, snare bottom is the high-end "snap" of the snare, and the room sounds are where the "smack" comes from. Honestly my snare sound is probably 50% just the room sound!

    it's like taking a trip through Inferno . .and then Purgatory and finally Paradise. . .and i mean that in the best possible way
    except, i'm not really a fan of any genre with "core" in its name, but compared to what came before it, that last riff may as well have been Paradise.
    with all due respect, the entire thing was very impressive. i'm just more of a fan thrash(slayer, testament, iced earth)/power(blind guardian, hammerfall, manowar)/new wave of(Maiden obviously) . . type. . . and . .and
    i also like King Diamond. People call his metal "black metal", but i think he should have a genre all to himself in the same way that Primus has a genre all to themselves. KD is in a league of his own.
    .
    i'm here because i never heard the term "djent" before and had to know what it sounds like.
    i am familiar with the band Meshuggah

    really cool.
    how do you level 6? it doesn't sound like a normal pinch harmonic. there's a screeching to it.

      It's a pitch pedal (in this specific video, the one that's in Archetype: Gojira) automated, so basically I just pick dissonant chords, then pitch shift that up a couple of octaves (:
