Snuck into the theatre at 12 years old to watch this. Entire cast was awesome. Developed a crush on Michelle Pheiffer entering my teen years as well as becoming a big fan.
The guy that played Alejandro Sosa. was perfect for the roll. (Paul Shenar ) he did a brilliant job...I have met guys like him...(Looks and maners) when i lived in Argentina.
His name was Paul Shenar. Phenomenal actor who unfortunately passed away in 1989, 6 years after Scarface was released due to complications from AIDS. R.I.P Paul.
Scarface did exist in real life, his real name was Al Capone (Scarface was his nickname and the original movie made back in the 1930's was inspired by him).
0:40 Hey, Tony. Remember when I told you when you first started working for me, the guys that last in this business, are the guys who fly straight. Low-key, quiet. But the guys who want it all, chicas, champagne, flash... they don't last.
For anybody asking why it's a "ghetto icon" or why rappers "glorify" it: most rappers come from impoverished neighborhoods. With that being said, they relate to Tony's story. To see him come from nothing to riches in wealth is influential to us. Sure he gets killed at the end, but he lived a life most people will never even get to get a sneak peak of. In the words of Jay-z: "Figured I'd get shot, (at)least I'll die on top"! Food for thought for those ignorant to our living conditions and mentality! 💯 -Million Dolla Moe
+Maurice Morris (Million Dolla Moe) The problem is, u people think this is the only way to get rich, that's why u people remain poor. Hard work & studying is kryptonite for u. If only your kind would take a lesson from east European or Asian immigrants' kids - they come here poor, but study hard, get a great education & job, & withing a generation they go from poor to wealthy (or at least upper middle class).
+bigmedge u people?! Wtf are talking about 😂 I know plenty of black people that went to college and make a honest living. My Grandmother had her master's degree in Psychology and my uncle has his PH.D. in child psychology. I was speaking on the people who see that as an option. There's black, white, Hispanic, and many other races that take the underworld role idiot. Not just black! Or even just minorities! People like you think you're so smart but, in all actually you lack knowledge that the average teenager in the hood would have. Just stfu sir
Maurice Morris U totally missed the point, genius. In the hood, these successful educated people are the exception to the rule, again b.c most don't want to study since running around in the street is easier & more fun. Among Asian & European immigrants, becoming successful & educated is the rule b.c discipline & respect for education & a good career are ingrained in them, that's the big difference.
+bigmedge no you missed the point. Do you know much criminal activity goes on around the world? No Europe, Asia (Middle East and countries surrounding China)?! It's not just in the hood(s) in America dumb ass. This country was built by criminals from Europe conquering and stealing, stealing, enslaving from other people. As for the streets being the easy was out, in the words of Jay-Z, "Whoever said illegal is the easy way out couldn't understand the mechanics and the workings of the underworld". You don't have any idea. You're just speaking from what you see on TV, the Internet, and read in books. Just another brain dead prick. No common sense
Rappers and gangsters are people too. They have favorite movies, music, songs heroes and idols they look up to just like your 5 or 10 year old daughter. Don't come on here acting like your so above it all or your the only one who deserves to watch and experience such a great movie. If anything, gangsters relate to this film more than any of you kiddies still at home watching TH-cam in your mama's basement So let that reality sink in. This movie is for everyone who has started from the bottom and worked their way to the top. The epitome of the American Dream, both good and bad.
I agree, they celebrate it as a film about excess and a gangsters life, when if anything its-anti that, it all falls apart for Tony and he loses it all. I always saw it as being about a young man with a big heart for his family, loyal, always truthful and courageous, who lived wrong and got swallowed by excess thrown in front of him, its a tragedy story.
Yeah! And where is Michelle Pfiffer and "Gina"? So many others who played major roles in the movie are missing from this big Reunion get together. Don't get it! Also don't get why Al P. has to look like "Rambo"! What's up with the head band? Geez!!! He looks so good in his black suit and silk shirt - why ruin it with the head gear? Steven Bauer is still hot but has put a little too much on. So good to see them all again though!
are you trying to say that rappers/'gangstas' arnt aloud to idolize him but other people are?, you have to remember just because there rappers/'gangstas' they are still human and this movie was amazing.
And Tony wanted that too (Elvira and more coke to make more money) "Me, I want what's coming to me. And what's coming to you, Tony? The world, chico...and EVERYTHING in it."
Don't forget huge chrome rims on Cadillac Escalades that they invested their lives in, extremely long T-shirts, shoes made custom in inhuman sizes, backwards snap-back baseball caps to look 'badass in front of duh homiez in duh hood'.... :)
My favourite movie of all time, good to see the cast together again.
al pacino best actor of all time

Poor Paul Shenar... No one else could have played Alejandro Sosa. Rest in peace
Wish Sosa was still alive he was my favorite character RIP Frank
His name was Paul Shenar. Phenomenal actor who unfortunately passed away in 1989, 6 years after Scarface was released due to complications from AIDS. R.I.P Paul.
Best gangster movie of all time...hands down! And no way can this movie ever be remade! You can't top perfection!
Scarface did exist in real life, his real name was Al Capone (Scarface was his nickname and the original movie made back in the 1930's was inspired by him).

You sound confused. Like other races, African American rappers admire the work of Al Pacino in the movie SCARFACE. The movie is not about the 80's!!
Not a sequel...A remake.
