- In this episode we bring you up to date after announcing we were going to begin living in our RV full time. We share the steps we took to get here and what was precipitating factor in this decision. We also share a brief tour of our home base resort. It wasn't long after we bought our first RV in 2021 to know this was going to be a goal of ours. 3 years later we did it! This is how.

Thank you for watching and supporting our channel!
I’m not to far behind you guys, I’m working with an auction company and an estate attorney. Once the house is emptied it’ll be sold. Haven’t picked my rv yet, but within the month I’ll have it. I’m 60 and retired, my wife died last year and I’m ready for a change. The house is too much work for just me. It’s scary making the big change, but life is short and we only get one chance!
We are so sorry for your loss. You’re surviving something we greatly fear. But we admire your courage and attitude to embrace life with this new chapter. Adventure awaits and we applaud you for going for it! We wish you the best during this transition.

Awesome, nice setup I have the same truck as you have but mines is a 22 I love it, we want to get a bigger 5th wheel we like the either the Jayco Pinnaler or the Solitude front living, we have now the Jayco North Point 310RLTS but It's a little small for our taste.
Thank you and thanks for watching. There’s a North Point and a Pinnacle in our resort. We are in a second Grand Design and as you saw in the video, we’ll be sticking with them with the Solitude. We have a cracked countertop and they sent us a new one for free even though we are out of warranty. They’ve taken great care of us on any issue we’ve had. Fortunately all minor.
Seek toy haulers
We’ve considered a TH. Unfortunately there aren’t any floor plans that we like.
Love this video
Thank you so much! ❤️
We’re doing the same thing in the spring of 2026!
@@scott699 Congrats! You’ll have no regrets!
Heyy 👋🏻 your channel is new to me. I'm happy to be watching. Getting caught up. Can you get into the place you toured, please? Do you own or rent your space? How did you find it? I am going full time in the fall of 2025. Considering buying land or buying into similar resort. I will likely have my house still as the downsizing is a bear to do. Cannot use a company until I get rid of /go through some "junk rooms" which has years of my large family's stuff. Working on it but slow going. I will be a solo traveler. Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks for watching us! Happy to talk more about our home base. We rent in a resort where the lots are individually owned. There are lots for sale from time to time. Some available now. We found it by looking into options in the area as we need to be located in a specific city/region. We mostly use RV Trip Wizard, a subscription through RVLife to find campgrounds and RV resorts. Good luck in your transition. The stuff can be the biggest challenge.
great video! do you use electric heaters too or just the propane furnace?
Thank you! Good question. As long as we’re above freezing, we can use the fireplace for electric heat but if it gets near or below freezing we have to keep the underbelly warm to prevent the pipes from freezing. Running the fireplace prevents the furnace from kicking on so we tend to not use it then. Something we didn’t know until being full time. It would probably be better too if the thermostat was located in the downstairs portion of our 5th wheel like in the kitchen area since heat rises. The bathroom and bedroom are always warmer since heat rises so it tends to be colder in the living and kitchen area. My thought going into this was we’d buy an electric heater for the bedroom but we don’t really need it. We do love the furnace. It does a great job except for having to get propane a lot! 😂
❤
Thank you so much!
Someone needs to do an full time RV life on a fixed budget
Thanks for watching! Oh our budget is fixed alright! But do you mean full time rv life of retired persons or couples? I hear ya.
