Being a full timer myself, I think nobody looks at this the right way. It's not how much it costs you to live full time in an RV. It's what the difference between living in an RV versus living in a home. This is a huge difference and far less expensive to live in an RV. The only way it is more expensive is if you compare it to dollars spent per square foot occupied. For most of use the freedom and mobility outweigh this. Thanks for the video guys.
It amazes me how many people cannot accept that some people do things differently than they. Not only are you different, you are wrong and they are morally superior. Thanks for this video, and all of tgem
I’m so glad y’all do you!!! What matters to you and to others is always different. I am gluten free. It makes a difference. But when we full time it will be to live not just exist. Please continue to enjoy the journey not just the destination. Much love and prayers to y’all.
Viewers need to understand that eating gluten-free (and healthy) is expensive. Instead of judging, they should consider themselves lucky if they don't have to eat gluten-free.
Totally correct, I got many condescending comment because I eat organic and gluten free diet. Guys eat healthy, the raging number of cancers in our society is linked to bad industrial food
Hey Darlene and Barry, as a travel nurse I have my own budget of things. But I will truly say I appreciate you sharing the reality of reality. I know there’s a lot of people out there that will judge without being in your shoes, but I always say do what you wanna do and let other people do what they wanna do. Lol not everybody’s gonna agree!! But the fact of the matter is being out here traveling around is a whole different budget than being in a home sticks and bricks. And you’re right it does make people uncomfortable, especially ourselves, but it is a reality. So keep doing what you’re doing and cutting where you can. But don’t stop having the adventures and the fun. I mean truly that’s what it’s about right! To live a life like very few do.❤😁🙏
Thank you for sharing these numbers, we're working towards doing the full time RVing in a year and a half to see the country for a couple of years, like you I'm a budgeter, I track everything already, and I created a budget for the long trip and worried that I was off or missing something, this truly helps!!
We are going full time this summer since we are empty nesters, and we will be working full time as we are both self-employed. Thanks for posting this level of detail. Super helpful!
We travel by Super C and are 2.5 years into retirement (not full time). Absolutely love your videos! Especially the way you adapt to new circumstances. We have followed your channel since the start. Keep up the great work!❤
Thank you for sharing your budget and comparison to 2023. I found it super helpful and this year’s budget seems so much more realistic to a wider range of viewers. 😊
Great video, thanks for sharing that info. New subs here. My wife and I will be empty nesters in 2028 and are planning to full-time RV for about 8 months of the year during that new phase of our life. That said, we are new to all of it so we're sponges for information at this point. I'll certainly look at your course as we get closer. Also, was interested in the comments about fishing. Fishing is my hobby too and am looking forward to experiencing that in the different states that we travel.
Love the 2023 video and actually can not believe how much RV life to Boat life is very similar! We Anchor for FREE 90% of the time but our maintenance bill certainly makes up for the cost of RV parks. We had to pay $12,700.00 for insurance in 2023 and about another 25-30K in maintenance. Fun fact, we are also from Sarasota! Keep it coming guys and congratulate on going full-time on YT Darlene!
Are you guys the ones transitioning to the Rv life soon? E have a few boat lifers that chime in. Also, we are headed to Sarasota again soon. Love visiting,
Great video, thanks for taking the time to track & share. RVing is our dream, but still in sticks & bricks at the moment...but I found your numbers were still very helpful in comparing our current lifestyle. I also tracked every single dollar for the first time in 2024, and it was humbling and somewhat of a chore. Seems like you aren't taking the "fun" comments too seriously. I hope not, because you guys are awesome. Please keep the content coming 🙂
We're a fulltime sailing family of 5 and just celebrated our 4th Christmas onboard. We've sailed thousands of miles, visited and lived in multiple countries. We love this nomadic lifestyle and if we return to shorelife we will be purchasing an RV. I find episodes like this interesting as it gives us insight to costs to see if RV life is possible for us. Both the boating world and RV world seem to be going through lots of changes .. vehicle age restrictions for rv park- marinas, boondock- anchorage limitations and regulations that make full timing on boat or RV more challenging Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Thank you so much for sharing your numbers! We are 1 week new to full time and our house just closed today!🎉 It has been a long 9 month process since we made the decision. We appreciate you!
This is Wonderful, a Big Thank You. Keep doing what you are doing because there are a lot of us that appreciate it. We have been at this for three years and moving into full time soon. So this information is very helpful.
The last video I saw from you all was when you had your accident. I am unsure why I haven't seen you all in a while, but I am glad you both are doing well. Hope to see more of you all.
I love that you guys are so real. Also that you shared because it helped us decide certain aspects of our fulltime adventure. We just started in November and have almost the identical rig to yours, the 42v14. ❤️
Thank you for sharing all of the details with us! I was very helpful to see the 2 years compared especially since you had different mindsets each year.
Good for people to see the reality of many of the cost of full time RVing! I do wish more people would use the phrase Glamping and not camping . If you are pulling around a gigantic RV and parking it in a lot with electric. That’s not camping! Many people get confused with the differences . And it is a huge difference!
@ It’s kind of semantics, true . But the people that have a really nice truck camper that gets turned away from a RV resort might not call it that . Or if the unit is too old they get turned away. Just my opinion. Thanks for yours and Happy New Year .😁
Love how open you two are about sharing and your frugality!! My SIL swears by her combo. Can I ask what brand you had? Trying to decide whether or not to have one installed. We are going FT April 1 and you both have been extremely helpful in our planning ❤
Thanks for the information!!!. My insurance on my rv which is 2014 solitude 5th wheel is about 1200 for insurance and whooping 32 to plate it. In nebraska.
It's funny (well, not really)... I just got notice that our RV insurance went up like $300. I think it may be time to move to another state for residency. Sigh...
Thank you so much for sharing guys, you're awesome! Very informative. When we set sail next year I hope we can meet ya guys at some point! Safe travels :)
I’ve really enjoyed watching your channel over this past year especially because we have the same RV model as yours! Hope to see more traveling / adventure videos in the near future.
I don’t see any budgeting, only tracking. However, I thank you for the useful info, as all the different views on spending will help me tremendously to prepare for my permanent vacation in 2 years.
Thanks for the honest expenses. This is to me is very much tied to your income, just like what sticks & brick home you have and how you spend. We are just part timers, but still work through similar issues. My wife is still a glamper when it comes to where to stay. Laundry prices can be crazy at the campsites. Why is it the higher price campsites charge the most for laundry? Thanks for the mail service heads up. We are retiring and will be RVing for much longer stretches of time so your tips and info are appreciated.
My wife has food allergies so we eat all organic and clean. It’s very expensive to do so but it’s for her health. With that said we spend much more on groceries. However we rarely go to restaurants.
@@liketheresnotomorrow I also have a special diet and that really increases the cost of going out to eat. I can't just go into a pizza shop or café and get something, it usually has to be a nice sit down restaurant, so the cost of going out to eat is higher for me, as it probably is for you. Thanks for the video. Its amazing how we can adjust our spending when we need to.
Thanks for the budget insights! Having the same rig, it's like seeing other people in our same space in your videos. Well, mostly the same- you have that cursed banana hammock in the kitchen. :^)

My wife and I purchased a lot in fl. Our daughter lives in Tenn, we are thinking about a lot there, so we can stay in 2 different states. The lots are investments. Just a thought for others.
Yes. We have actually considered that for when we want to slow down a bit more. We are actually looking into a property that we could put an Rv pad and hookups and build in eventually. Renting it out when we travel.
You don’t eat to much we live full time in our fifth wheel we spend the most on food fuel campgrounds we spend the summer on the coast of maine in a seasonal campsite in our home state and on the road 7.5 months through the winter
You said that you track your expenses using Trip Wizard? I tried to do that and it won’t let me put in my true cost. Someone at Trip Wizard told me it can’t be done after the trip is completed. You can only estimate your cost before the trip? Am I doing something wrong or what?
Traveling in an RV is expensive, being stationary is very cost saving. Example: 400$ RV payment, 620$ RV park payment, 100$ RV insurance, 50$ Propane, 60$ Electricity, 35$ mobile internet, the rest is your own expenses like Auto insurance, food, Entertaiment, its basically 35% less than living in an apartment and renting..
It’s definitely good to break down the expenses to see how it all shakes out. If you want a stationary lifestyle is a great savings over traditional renting.
Right now, I'm just RV curious. But, this is a gold mine of information. This video was so well done. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

I’m so glad y’all do you!!! What matters to you and to others is always different. I am gluten free. It makes a difference. But when we full time it will be to live not just exist.
Please continue to enjoy the journey not just the destination.
Much love and prayers to y’all.

Thank you for being real!!
My husband and I want to do this!!!
We are just learning and you guys have been very helpful.
So glad we can help you out! 🙂 we have lots of resources on ur website too.

WOW, Congratulations on your success! 22.2K subs in 1 years is something to be proud of! You will continue to go FAR!

You guys rock. I look forward to to your videos and the stories that go with it. Thanks. Safe travels from Arcadia Fl.
Rodeo time
Rodeo time! You know, we are back in fl for a couple of months. Rodeo anyone? lol
I think this gives people a “budget sheet” to use. Helps them understand what they need to track. Everyone spends differently.
Indeed. You really don’t know until you track it.
The last video I saw from you all was when you had your accident. I am unsure why I haven't seen you all in a while, but I am glad you both are doing well. Hope to see more of you all.
Weird. We have put out a video very week, make sure you are subscribed. We’d live to have you along on this crazy journey of ours.
Happy New Year to y’all. Better food is more expensive and better for you . 😊
Agree, and we are all about good food! 🍎
Super helpful, thanks for sharing all those details.
We truly appreciate it bill. Thank you
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
You bet
I love that you guys are so real. Also that you shared because it helped us decide certain aspects of our fulltime adventure. We just started in November and have almost the identical rig to yours, the 42v14. ❤️
We hope you love the 42! It’s a great one. Thanks for watching. ❤️
Happy New Years. Congratulations on being year two on TH-cam.
Thank you, we appreciate it!

We appreciate it. It’s our pleasure to share.

Splendid. Maybe the brand new ones are better. If I had to get another, I’d get the separate units if I had the room.
Great video guys it’s nice to see just normal folks being real. Thanks
Thanks for watching! We appreciate you.
Just finishing watching and once again, a great informative video

Thank you for your authenticity! Great video. God bless you and keep you safe in your travels this year.
Thank you!
I’ve really enjoyed watching your channel over this past year especially because we have the same RV model as yours! Hope to see more traveling / adventure videos in the near future.
I know! I hope we can get up
Your way eventually. Northeast right?
@ yes, we live in Maine. Absolutely beautiful in the summer. Wells Beach RV resort is a good one for your rig. It’s in the Thousand Trails system.
Thank you for sharing! We are getting ready to embark on our journey this year, and all of this information is very helpful.😊
We are so excited for you! It’s a wild ride.
I don’t see any budgeting, only tracking.
However, I thank you for the useful info, as all the different views on spending will help me tremendously to prepare for my permanent vacation in 2 years.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for sharing! We are working on more intentional spending this year now that we know a bit more of what to expect. 2025 is year #3 for us!
It’s a journey, isn’t it. Changes every year. lol 👍
Wow u guy's dropped ur spending down to me and I'm a single guy!! I also eat out alot.. that's 40% of my cost. But I gotta say very impressive!!!
Well, it won’t be forever, but we’re making it work. lol miss eating out more…and breweries…and fun tours. It’s just a season. lol

You're welcome! Glad it was helpful.
Big fan, Y'all! keep em coming
Awe thanks for the encouragement 👍
We use the same an type of camp grounds and have family that allows us to mooch dock and this saves a little.
Our family needs to get some bigger driveways and properties. lol that’s great. I’d love to stay with family every once in a. While.
Thanks for sharing your expenses. Ok ok, we’ll go join the Elks.
Ha ha ha (were your ears burning?)
Thank you for sharing.
We appreciate you watching!
Thanks for the budget insights!
Having the same rig, it's like seeing other people in our same space in your videos. Well, mostly the same- you have that cursed banana hammock in the kitchen. :^)
😂
Thank you
Happy Birthday 🎉 if someone has a rv and they only spend 300 there's no living there. Enjoy.❤
ikr!? lol Thanks for watching
Oklahoma vehicle tag/registration $75 per year on a 2024 dually and toy hauler tag/registration $75 per year on a 2023 Keystone Raptor. Truck insurance is $56 per month and trailer is $115 per month.
Interesting. Does OK have sales tax? That’s the only good thing about FL. lol
Awesome
Happy New Year
Just found you, freat information!
Thanks for checking us out!
Love your channel. I like the idea of this lifestyle, and am looking at Toy Hauler Fifth Wheels. I would haul my motorcycle. @ thank you!
Nice video guys! I appreciate your transparency. Obviously your personal choices are none of my business. I do feel that excluding the rig cost makes if difficult to compare to my "sticks and bricks" budget. I feel it is a big difference and difficult for me to assess. Maybe you could consider an amortization amount? Either way there's a lot of great info here. FWIW, I recently started using Empower to track my expenses, and it's a powerful tool. I especially liked the year over year comparison you did. Thank you and continued success!
Thanks. Will checkout Empower. Thank you
Yup!!! Breaking down food from hygiene and household and blah blah blah, I’m not doing it either. I hear what you meant.
I don’t have Amazon prime. You get free shipping if your total is over 35$.
Honestly the 2024 living expenses aren't much different than mine doubled (I'm solo) and considering 2023 was your first year doing this you didn't do much different than a lot of folks when starting out. There are a whole lot of things to buy in the beginning.
The ventess doe take forever. Vented is not as bad. We cut the hole. I also have a foldable rack that folds down flat and iI wil hang the clothes on it. Then run in dryer for a few minutes to soften them up.
We had the vented. It just wasn’t for us😜
My wife and I purchased a lot in fl.
How do you become and elks member... wish we could but we don't know anyone who's already a member to sponsor us. Lucky you!
Call your local elks and ask. We know someone that did that and they provided a sponsor.
You don’t eat to much we live full time in our fifth wheel we spend the most on food fuel campgrounds we spend the summer on the coast of maine in a seasonal campsite in our home state and on the road 7.5 months through the winter
Can’t wait to get to Maine eventually
You said that you track your expenses using Trip Wizard? I tried to do that and it won’t let me put in my true cost. Someone at Trip Wizard told me it can’t be done after the trip is completed. You can only estimate your cost before the trip? Am I doing something wrong or what?
Hmmmm. I just put the price I pay at a campground. I don’t track the fuel costs from spot to spot. Can you put your camping costs in?
Pet llama
😂
Traveling in an RV is expensive, being stationary is very cost saving. Example: 400$ RV payment, 620$ RV park payment, 100$ RV insurance, 50$ Propane, 60$ Electricity, 35$ mobile internet, the rest is your own expenses like Auto insurance, food, Entertaiment, its basically 35% less than living in an apartment and renting..
It’s definitely good to break down the expenses to see how it all shakes out. If you want a stationary lifestyle is a great savings over traditional renting.
Ok, I didn't know you were celiac. So, do you have a bread maker?
Nope. Never been a big bread eater, so I guess that’s a plus in my situation, 😜
Sounds stressful!
Thanks! Well done!
We truly appreciate it!
