Saitama’s powers and new feats simply proves how powerful that mosquito was that he couldn’t kill.
And how strong that cat was to pierce his impenetrable skin. Calling it rn, the Big 3 fighting God in the end will be Saitama, Mosquito and Cat. (Crazy that i have to say this but for the slow people, Saitama getting scratched by a cat and failing to kill a mosquito is a gag.)
Well. You could argue with the latest chapter that Saitima isn’t all that strong unless he’s fighting someone whose really strong. So when he was trying to kill that mosquitoes he was at the lowest of his abilities. But surviving 0.000001% of his power is still nutty.
They say that fly was just god in disguise spying on saitama to test his strength.
I love how all those scenes go above every basic fans head....must suck being that empty in the head...

Saitama is a genius since ep 1. He knows how to properly control his power which we saw many times in the series like with the fitness test, his battle vs Genos, him literally jumping from the moon to the earth almost exactly where Boros punched him from
If he didn't have his strength he's around a ben 10 level fighter. He's a great brawler and very durable
OMG..the climax is so cleverly delivered by the creator. He saved the legacy of One Punch Man. Saitama and Garou threw so many punches in their fight but in the end everyone saw Saitama defeating Garou in One Punch. Smart.
Well, to be fair, Saitama could have ended Garou the entire time. He confirmed he was not trying to kill him when he didn't finish him off before the confiscation.

I would have preferred that to what they did here tbh.
Only because of this chapter though. Time travel a the very end used to fix all the consequences and get off almost Scott free with no hero deaths.
It would have been a lot more compelling if they had it stay this way.

Everyone was dead so the ONLY thing left to do would have been Saitama vs God and we're not ready for that yet or at least we shouldn't be. Visually it would be cool but narratively it wouldn't mean anything since everyone else is dead. Story wise that would be a bad choice

And It wont make sense with Garou anymore, beucase in the manga and webcomic, fighting saitama to his power was what made him question himself, i feel like him just being hit once here would make him more determine to kill all heros. because he never had the experience of the fight.
BUT. alot of people still died this was just after garou got his god powers. so there was still lots of death. the only thing that changes ( for some reason is the "radiation" that also doesn't make sense. because in the manga before this they started to lose their hair pretty much as soon as he did the gama-ray burst, that he still did in this time line. so we are really just missing out on blast.

It's not even like we're early in the manga anymore. We're clearly in the end games. But I respect your opinion.
My theory is that Saitama's power is simply ultimate force of will, mind over matter. If he believes he can do something, no matter how silly or impossible, he can do it. It started when he was training, collapsed and WILLED himself to get up, to ignore pain, to reject weakness. Now he feels no pain and has no weakness.
I agree. The training was only part of the discipline of the mind over matter hence why he broke his limit.
I think its similar to when you really want some thing or will it it will happens like when you get obsessed with eating crab you because a monster crab.

My theory his power going up was basically just adrenaline which makes sense because he is still a human and he just witnesses somebody he actually cared for die by a person right infront of him which could trigger adrenaline i think

Was so interesting how as soon as Garou was no longer a worthy challenger, the drawing of Saitama changes and he goes right back to not caring. Speaks a lot to the aims of saitama.
I don’t know if this was obvious or not but what I found coolest was that instant change of tone when Saitama mentioned it was cold. I doubt he was very cold at all, rather, he simply became so powerful that he no longer was paying any mind to the fight. He had grown so much that garou became yet another weak enemy.

Notice how the further Saitama got in strength from Garou, the more Saitama started to devolve from his Serious mode. Showing he is taking things less seriously.
The image of Garou in tears about his own failure and own righteousness only to see Saitama standing there patiently, holding onto Genos' core has got to be one of the best defining moments for Saitama yet. He isn't acting as a hero for fun, he's acting entirely out of his own sense of what is right and expresses a mental capacity beyond his own righteousness. Truly a spectacle to behold.

By the looks of it, Even the laws of time travel doesnt affect Saitama, that core shouldnt be in his hand if Genos hasnt yet been killed, but because Saitama holds it firmly, Its existence still remains

The sneeze feat is really insane when you think about it. In space there isn't any air, this means that you can't create a shock wave (unlike say while on earth).
This means that the individual air particles where expelled with such force that they managed to get to jupiter and cause the giant shockwave there.
Essentially the particles that were ejected would have to have to have gained energy probably quite a few times larger than earth's total energy (collectively)
This gives us a Lorentz factor of 10^27 which means that they were going very close to light speed.

Garou is still going to have to deal with the fact that even with his Cosmic power-up, he still lost to Saitama. But this time, without an epic fight in space. But simply getting one punched after gaining God's power.
I think that's why he did what he did, he knew he had to be stopped before killing Tareo, so he sent Saitama back to stop himself.

Imagining that saitama just keeps multiplying his power thats already made people think "will he ever even be challenged?" if hes in a dire situation is insane.
He's basically going "oh, so you copied my "unbeatable"? I'll just go "unbeatable³" then."
The thing is garou can copy his strength but can copy his durability and speed, if a punch can hurt saitama, that punch will obliterate garou to nothingness, and saitama punch will hit first

However the reason garou could not keep up with saitama's power even though he copied it atom by quirk is because saitama still grows, EXPONENTIALLY, even faster then the laws of the universe.

The interesting thing to me was Saitama’s suit, or lack of it. The only part he retained was the glove in contact with Genos core. Otherwise without it he is completely without identity, just an obscenely strong naked man. Kinda shows that despite himself, he really does cling to his connections, it’s the only thing keeping him centred.
Edit: Human even. He’s so strong that he would likely outlive everyone around him, yet; is completely devoid of motivation or satisfaction. He needs friends to keep him human.

Yeah! I think it's gorgeous! It's his connection to people like Genos that lets him keep a grip on reality. When he's so obscenely powerful, it seems difficult for him to care about anything. The whole planet is something he could erase on a whim. But he cares about Genoa, and these other people close to him.

You gotta give Garou credit for the one thing that his former master Fang could not do.
Garou passed his style down onto Saitama, which Fang wanted to do but Saitama resisted it because he didn't need it. Not only did Garou give Saitama a decent workout where the latter is a whole lot more powerful than before, but he passed the 'martial arts' style Fang teaches onto him to where now Saitama can tap into divine power. He frickin' made Saitama stronger, something that shouldn't otherwise be possible because the latter's power level is already set to "Yes", lol.
And furthermore, in the webcomic Garou asks if Saitama has the power to stop tragedies before they can happen. Saitama has a bad habit himself of showing up late to the party. Here in the manga, Garou gives him a way to do so to unmake the tragedy that is his past self killing Genos and the cosmic radiation just about killing everyone else. For this time, Saitama was granted this moment to show up right when he was needed the most and stop a tragedy before it happened by punching the 'god' out of Past-Garou.
Garou has a habit of committing heroism by sheer accident in his attempts to do evil. Here just before 'god' took his powers away, he managed to intentionally do something heroic to undo the mistakes he made. Gotta say, his manga rapport sheet is looking really mighty impressive even the only truly nefarious actions committed was when being influenced by the thing that calls itself 'god'.
Yeah when the future Saitama fused with the past one he lost the memories from the future so he doesn't know how to time travel anymore

My other observation is the core Saitama is holding.
Now if Genos can access that core, he has all the data from the space fight between Saitama and Garou... Now that's something to think about...

Yeah, incidentally Saitama did forget just about everything. Hell, even the part where he punched 'god' out of Garou.
It all ties into the whole theme of OPM that Saitama will forever be disappointed because nobody can ever match up to his strength. Against Cosmic Fear Garou he had someone that can stand up to getting Serious Punch'd, but alas now, he forgot all about it. A pity really, this whole experience would've been ample character development for Saitama.
Still, Genos' core likely recorded everything.

It can produce slightly more power in your punches but it also makes you sloppy and leaving your guard down.

Garo had anger, frustration, pride, arrogance, and finally the need to prove himself. Glad Garo found the one thing that kept his humanity tethered and seen his errors, Garo’s just another person like the rest of us

Glad the writer was smart enough to make that time travel punch a one and done deal. Saitama was already comically OP so he didn't need to have a re-do button on hand as well.
He did fuse with himself though, we don't know for sure if he lost the ability yet, he might still have it albeit nerfed for the future arcs

When I saw Garou was die I almost shitted my cosmic pants. This whole chapter was great, Garou got character development, Saitama did too he even got more op (wonder if Garou will have a stronger base now), and everyone lived.

@@sdmoore89 I mean it does kinda makes sense because garou probably knew how to use the technique he just didn't have the space to do it because of saitama beating the living shit out of him. (and that along with getting gods power he also gotten knowledge on the flows of energys of the universe if you will) making it so that I don't think it isn't necessarily that he wasn't able to use it is more likely that he just didn't have the space to do it, and well with his character he always gets beat up before coming back stronger but with saitama there wasn't an opportunity to due so until he realized what he has done

I think the whole Saitama saying "The kid is over there" is a reference to the web comic where Garou proclaimed he would kill Tareo and daren anyone to come and stop him, but Saitama only looked at him wierd and said, "Um the kid is in that direction.

My dude pulled a Gold Experience Requiem. He removed the cause of Garou's defeat (A long, destructive fight) and left only the effect, which was Garou's defeat. No fight means no Future Saitama to travel back to the past and punch Garou, so Future Saitama is merged into Present Saitama to mend the paradox and no punch was ever thrown.
Hence, zero punches. Garou is defeated simply because Saitama exists, which is a rather poetic expression of the themes explored in the original webcomic during this fight.
But can he make garou experience death forever?

That's closer to Bites the Dust. Or an even closer analog would be the spell "Cease to Exist" from Tales of Maj'Eyal which, upon the target's defeat, rewinds time back to the moment the spell was first cast.
The "zero punch", as I understand it, is actually a punch thrown out of nowhere, as Saitama punches out of time. So because the punch comes from the zero point, it is called "Zero Punch". Because it comes from outside of existence and time.
The way Murata altered One's version to just revert it back to One's version again is mindblowing.
The animation the story writing this chapter was just everything 🔥
I always assumed that Saitama already had a vast well of strength but never had a reason to fully tap into it. So maybe this isn't necessarily Saitama growing stronger but rather just using more of his power than he ever had before? Either way, I can't wait to see this in the next anime season which can't come soon enough.

Saitama is just so overpowered in the OPM Verse. My guy copied a time travel ability inadvertently to go back in time to a timeline where Garou didn’t kill everyone on earth due to his cosmic radiation. Past Saitama probably didn’t retain his future selfs memories which is unfortunate but who knows, he might regain his memories since he fused with his future self.

It would be revealed that Saitama had received God's strength, and the final battle of the series would be Saitama vs God. Saitama would win, but due to God's death, Saitama would lose his powers. There'd be a time-skip and we see Saitama, in his regular hero clothes, finding a villain. The villain would defeat Saitama with one punch, where it's then revealed by nearby heroes that Saitama always gets defeated with one punch, hence his hero name being "One Punch Man", then the series ends.

Sounds to me like Saitama is saying that his Serious Series is just a fractionally more powerful move than he would do, like "Oh he's actually quite strong, let me mix it up a bit for him".
He's gauging the enemy and simply matching their strength.
Just like Goku likes to do he never goes full strength unless he tests his enemies.
I mean he was not taking serious damage and was also trying not to kill Garou. So the explanation of the powerscale that was shown had to be that he was releasing more and more of his potentially limitless power to defeat Garou.

I love the premise of Saitama and i think it was great story telling to not having him as the center always but his arc kind of hurt Garou's much like how there was a revision of the chapters to change the course of their battle. Garou could never hope to touch Saitama despite his arc needed him to overcome his challenges and reach his goals. Saitama stood as a wall he could never get passed so it makes creating a conclusion kind of difficult because Garou has to lose and change his thinking and it has to be done well.
In what way did Saitama's arc hurt Garou's? As Garou's idea is to be the most powerful threat on Earth he would clash with Saitama sooner and later and lose as a consequence, this was always the case. Saitama is a part of Garou's arc because he grounds Garou and subsequently makes Garou question his own motives. Without Saitama Garou wouldn't develop as a character, he'd just stay on his "absolute evil" path believing that's the way when he clearly wants the world to be a better place and simply has the wrong idea of getting there.
@@nickmotion im aware of all of that which is why its important how he comes to that conclusion. It has to be done right to his character as a result of Saitama. In the chapter he takes gods power the first version had him begging for death and giving up only to sit like an embarrassed child in front of the ultimate threat to his ideals while the current version has him reject it and push forward to become stronger. That change was important because its more him than the previous one. Not saying he is right and doesn't need to change his mind but Saitama makes it a bit harder to naturally change his mind because Gauro has always been willing and eager to push beyond his limits and defeat a stronger foe.
@@DPowered2 I’m a bit lost in what you are referring to, because there’s the web comic, then there’s the first iteration of the battle where Saitama beat Garou on Earth and they sat at a table to talk (which was remade), and there is the current manga storyline which also features 2 Garous - 1 who fought Saitama in space and lost & the Garou after time travel who doesn’t know what hit him.
Which writing were you happy with story-wise?
I think Garou got a good arc in the manga (current storyline), however, now that they reversed time the current Garou hasn’t had the same development in character yet so I’m curious to see what they’ll do with him since he can’t just turn into a neutral guy all of a sudden.

I’m not sure if you have seen the web comic. In it Saitama defeats Garou in much the same way as the first version in the manga - Garou starts monsterifying and trying everything - power/speed/technique/… and one by one nothing works against Saitama. At the end he gives up, cries it isn’t fair that someone like Saitama exists and wants to be killed off to prove heroes aren’t decent, all the other heroes want him dead tbh, but Saitama ofc doesn’t do it. So the first manga version of the fight we got was closer to the web comic in that regard.
@@nickmotion yep first version was following the webcomic, but its a nice twist to see where the story could evolve from this, i guess the change results from introducing "blast" as a character that actually appears and adding "god" to the story, so the author decided to build on that trope. i gotta say, that i wasnt expecting that turn of events, having read webcomic and all...

I think saitamas real power is how strong he perceives himself to be, if that makes sense.
What I mean is there have been times where he can one shot his enemies, but other times when he cant or couldn’t, like a mosquito, he probably thought he could kill it but subconsciously his mind was saying “it’s a normal mosquito” so to not take it seriously, same with the cat that scratched him, he wasnt thinking of the cat being dangerous so it was able to pierce his impenetrable skin

This actually stomps the goku vs saitama debate. If goku is giving saitama a hard time then saitama would just grow again getting stronger again. And saitama wasn't even having a hard time against garou and his growth just skyrocketed to the point where garou can't keep up anymore. So in conclusion no matter how strong the opponent is, as long saitama is fighting he will keep on growing non stop

I’m going to put in perspective how fast Saitamas power was growing. Assuming that Garou was copying his power every single time he copied Saitama, Saitama was growing in power so fast that at one point when Garou copied him, Saitama was nigh instantly more then double in power. The graphs sort of mess people up, but that’s not what is happening,
I'm kinda confused so was he getting stronger from his emotions or from copying or was it like some db shot where they get stronger the more they fight?
@@somerandomperson5473 so Garou was copying Saitama who was getting stronger. Saitama at one point was getting so strong so quickly that even after Garou copied him, Saitama was almost instantly double in strength comparative to him.
And Saitama was never hurt even when his forces were similar at the start, this makes me think of two theories: 1- His power was not increasing, but rather he gave more and more of himself 2- His physical resistance and durability are even far beyond his strength (I prefer this one) ...perhaps his forces weren't even that close at some point XD
